Wheatstone bridge is a special circuit consisting of 5 resistors. When the resistances in the adjacent arms have the same ratio, no current flows through the middle resistor! This is called a balanced Wheatstone bridge.
It's used in calculating unknown resistances using a meter-bridge set up.

Can we all agree that this is one of the greatest videos on KZfaq? Honestly sir, you deserve a lot of respect because you teach with so much passion and love for the subject and it truly shows in the final product. A well explained video on a somewhat complicated topic. Well Done!

I stumbled across your video by accident, well done, it reminded me of something in the past. Many years ago I went with some friends to Oxford UK to see a music festival. When we arrived the festival had been cancelled, so we went to visit a friend of theirs. This man collected old science equipment, things like an original Wimshurst machine. (I got to create some big sparks!) He then handed me Wheatstone's bridge, the original bridge! Made by Wheatstone himself!! This is my only claim to fame :( Carry on the good work. Greetings from Scotland.
