I take pride that my hometown of Philadelphia was the first major market to green light Wheel of Fortune.

Simply because they had trouble getting any station in each of the big three (New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago) to carry it. Heck, Every Second Counts cleared L.A., Chicago, Washington, and San Francisco, but lack of clearances in New York and other major markets (Philadelphia, Boston, Dallas, Atlanta, etc.) doomed the show after only one season in 1984-85; it would find success over on the BBC.
