@@brianjude6789at that time he had an intestinal blockage in his stomach which put him out of work for over a month.

​@matthewbell1102 they had to shut down early the day before cause he wasn't feeling well. Turned out to be an intestinal blockage. The next day they asked Vanna if she wanted to host, fulling expecting her to say no and instead they'd bring in a guest host. But in the spirit of the show must go on she said yes. So keep that in mind she didn't have much time to prepare. Now there was one time in 1994 or 95 (I think) Pat was struggling with Laryngitis for all 5 shows that week. It got to the point he couldn't do the bonus round for the Friday show cause he voice was so shot, so he and Vanna switched for that segment, she hosted while Pat turned the letters.

Not really all that surprising...but did he forget that Vanna White isn't just one of those regular models? Vanna's also not just any ol' hostess....she is *The Hostess.* I think Mike should have remembered that one.

It came up on the show not long after Pat came back, He asked her if she'd like to host again to which she quickly said "NO!" So I don't think she's interested.

She didn't want to become host. Sy's a loyal friend. They wanted her to host full time after she gain views yet she refused to betray Pat. She's a great person.

​@RyanTheDark I don't think that had anything to do with Pat, It was moreso because she didn't want to. Even just filling in it sounds like they pretty much asked her on a larf Fully expecting her to say no. But she figured save them the headache of finding a substitute and rescheduling. She took one for the team, but would rather not do it again.

I think she was terrible, she didn’t know what do to. But in her defense she’s not a host. She never had to interact with contestants like that. If she wanted to host she would need a lot of work.

This was a Disney-themed week. In that week, the show alternated between Mickey and Minnie Mouse at the puzzle board.

I'm guessing because Vanna couldn't be in 2 places at one time.
