(see update on adjuster below)
I saw those expensive wheelie bars motorcycles and thought "Hey I can make one of those!". And I will show you how!
Note on the little axil plate I meant to say 3mm X 5cm X 10cm.
Also as you watch me wheelie, I probably need to adjust the bar down more closer to the balance point.
Another note, instead of using the temporary bungie chord the "stopper" can simply be fixed down to the swing arm with a hose clamp or something.
Have fun!
I added an adjuster to the "stop bar" that hits the swing arm. At the end of it I drilled a hole and threaded it and put in a rubber bumper on a bolt that can be adjusted up or down to move the wheelie bar up or down.

Nice! Funny, I designed one myself before I saw this and it was very similar. I wanted to try and use what was laying around the garage and or keep the items off the shelf (Home Depot) and keep it super cheap and no speciality stuff like welding, just drill and bolt. I was hoping to show folks the cheapest simplist way. I used some aluminum bars (had them) but they may be too weak to deal with a hard hit, may go Home Depot steel bars. I also used the bungee cord to keep it up. Mine is a bit different in that it is adjustable via a rope or strap. So far my only expense is some threaded rods to go in the axle and 2 wheels from Home Depot, just about $23. I have it mocked up but not bolted together yet. Hope to have it done next week. I will share when its done. Thanks for your video.

The only inconvenient would be difficulty to escape from your bike on the back when wheelie goes sideways. It was useful to me to drag my left leg in case I didnt manage to apply the rear break on time before looping. However your creation may be helpful. Tell us yoir experience and how it worked on time God bless U

It's fun, but honestly I have not used it that much as I really like riding enduro and single tracks. But I would like to practice with it more, it really helps and confidence in learning to wheelie!

It looked like you were already pretty good at wheeling... It actually looked like the wheelie bar was set too high... It may had just been the camera angle too though.

thanks, i have been riding for a long time and I can wheelie, but I am not so good at it. Yes, it is adjusted to the critical point, I have since adjusted it to contact earlier.

I think it would be better if you used 1x1 tube with a thick wall and add another 4 inches or so to the swing arm bar. Just my 2 cents. If you hit the wheelie bar to hard that rebar is going to bend. I like the simplicity of the design but I think that is the major flaw, I dont mean to bash it but seems IF the rebar bends if you go to far back could cause other issues and maybe a crash cuz you're relying on, then then it bends, then ur screwed. Maybe you need a Wheelie bar 2.0. So did it help you master the slow wheelie? I would love to hear about it. Im thinking about building a wheelie spider, Have you seen that rig?
@MotoWorld777
@MotoWorld777 Жыл бұрын
hmm, well, it has not bent so far! It does flex, which is good. I guess if you hit it real hard and lean back you could bend it, but that would be true for any set up I suppose. 😁

@@billb295 it really just gives confindence to keep trying those slow wheelies like Jarvis and others do. I have never been good at wheelies, I just do them and pray! PS, would'nt 1X 1 inch tube just be 1 inch tube? :)

hi, yea, I need to make some video on it! I have only used it a few times, it does help because it keeps you from going over and also gives you confidence when practicing wheelies. I have seen some really big wheelie machines, but this is light and easy to make!

@@MotoWorld777 I also have a question for you as a good mechanic. When I tried to put my Honda xr150 in balance point, petrol started to go out from carburador by small rubber tube. Why is it? And how can I avoid this? Thank you!
@MotoWorld777
@MotoWorld777 2 жыл бұрын
@@AlekseyNew well, that is the nice thing about the husky it is feul injected, so normally no problem with that. But if you have a carburetor, inside it is a float, that releases fuel into the intake as needed. Also on a carb you have ports that release fuel when too much is coming into the carb. So if the float sticks or if you lay the bike at a severe angel preventing the floats from working the fuel will come out of those little tubes on the sides of the carb. It should not do this in a wheelie. I would adjust the floats and make sure the carb is clean and working well. Hope you can figure it out and keep wheeling!
@sptnk87
@sptnk87 2 жыл бұрын
Loop the overflow hose around the carb. It will go out the hose then back in the carb when the bike is level again. And if you tip over and fall the hose will work as intended.

yes, absolutley, the wheelie bar keeps you from landing on you backside and thrashing your bike in the process! :) It also give the rider a bit more boldness to go ahead and trying it. A bit like a seatbelt I suppose when you are driving.
