Well, after 8 months of being inactive, my Whelen has been officially put back in service! A lot of new improvements have been done to make it operational once again. First, the ESC-864 controller I purchased last year has been installed. It is digital and not analog, which is still awesome. The tone is now 465 Hz. I've got brand new batteries and a new trickle charge battery charger. It also has all new wiring for the amps and drivers as well as new flex conduit to encase the wires. And last, but not least, I have radio activation! Huge thanks to Cruz and Branden at Table Rock Alerting Systems for helping me with all the work and making this all possible! We sure made it look great!
For the test, I decided to run all the tones using the radio function to activate the siren. The reason the rotator continues to turn after the siren tone has stopped is that the amps have not shut off yet, and the oscillator board is hooked to the amp power. This thing still throws some amazing echoes and reverb. (Yes, it is technically a Vortex R4 on a Type II cabinet. I really have no use for voice anyway. So, it's going to remain a Vortex R4)
