Real or not. That last one was horribly sad. They didn't ruin one but two lives. Not only did it put her in what seems like a permanent traumatized state. Her sister will have to take care of her. You would think the least her "friends" could do would to continue to visit her and not abandon her.

After being an uber fan of creepypasta readings in my teens and graduating off of them to real account stories (Let's Not Meet), I've noticed there's a distinct difference in how a fictional story is told vs how a survivor's account is told. So much so that I can't really go back and enjoy creepypasta's anymore. Because the early-internet charm and feeling that they 'might' be real was completely gone. And that house-sitting story DEFINITELY gives me 'fake' vibes

@sqectre
@sqectre Жыл бұрын
Absolutely, there's a huge difference. Ignoring the nonsensical decisions made by the person in the story, fictional writing uses an entirely different part of the brain than we use when recalling an event. It takes a lot of effort to write in the voice of a genuine retelling, to make it sound real. For example "I approached the door, knife in hand, there were no sounds but the cicadas outside" is painting a picture to draw a reader in to an imagined reality, it's not how a person who experienced a genuinely traumatic event would describe their actions.

B.) dude shows signs of drug induced psychosis, which makes me think all those times they said they "overdosed" was actually just them misinterpreting how much they were taking. The whole gun thing could also be a hallucination, since I don't think the dude actually said if his gun was out of the drawer and missing a bullet when they came out of their trip.

That story about the stalker was so awful. He didn’t call any of his friends aside from the one the whole time? He stayed the full time? He kept falling asleep despite knowing he was being watched and somebody was in the house? He just decided not to let the cops search the house for no reason at all because he couldn’t be bothered yet he stayed there for a full week alone? He left the key on the counter despite knowing this person had access to the house and would take and move things? I love stories that have a bunch of set up and no payoff. It’s the best. The JJ Abrahams approach. “I’ll just say a bunch of random goofy shit to intrigue people and then let somebody else try to make it interesting for me.” Awful. Just awful. Talk more about how the dogs aren’t barking but then are barking. I didn’t get it the first dozen times.

To be honest the girl needs help (if it’s real) the fact that she’s so damaged and still so damaged means that she hasn’t been given the appropriate help. Kids cannot be expected to understand boundaries and the reasons for those boundaries- that friend wanted to ween her into horror movies and probably knew nothing about her traumatic past.
@parasitophobia
@parasitophobia Жыл бұрын
@@Just_shush_now they probably didn’t know about her past but they knew the movies were edited for a reason , as the person who pulled the prank originally was the one who edited all the movies prior. It isn’t “weening someone into horror movies” if the entire thing was a prank where they had her watch one of the few films she always watched and edited it to do something like that , even when the intention wasn’t malicious . Not knowing the reasons behind those boundaries isn’t really much of an excuse here either , as nobody really had to know the reasoning if the person who was editing the movies for her (and who made the halloween version of the movie) knew that she couldn’t handle certain things and took the time to edit scenes out for her (and plenty of kids understand how boundaries work)

Assuming it's not bullshit, which it probably is - given that it's the internet and 0 evidence is provided, and most importantly, it's 4chan - psychologically speaking, he was probably abused by her and he probably saw doing what he did as a way to get back at her, i.e. revenge. It ain't the first time something like this has happened. There was a case where, not sure if it the perpetrator was still a child or not, killed his mother and did similar things. Unfortunately, I don't remember the exact case, but I'm pretty sure I saw the documentary here on KZfaq. Possibly it might have been a serial killer? Fun fact, the LSD tripper who claimed to have shot themselves in the head checked literally all of the boxes for complex post traumatic stress, paranoia, and chemically induced psychosis just on the basis of everything they said, especially the constant equivocation about how used to drugs they were, and how ‘real’ it seemed. Real talk: prolonged use of Hallucinogenics, especially high powered ones, and especially-especially if they are done with a lack of clear intention as to what you were trying to accomplish for the trip, can and does lead to a host of mental disorders. If somebody is predisposed to schizophrenia or psychosis, using these substances especially in high doses can advance the symptoms dramatically. I knew one girl who (according to her) imbibed a whole sheet of ac1d over the course of a week when she was really young, like 11 or 12. By the time I knew her in her early 20s, she had full-blown schizophrenia, convinced that she had gone to school with famous people that she never did, and had done things that she had never done. Another couple friends of mine tried some new or synthetic substance that caused them to have full-blown psychotic episodes, requiring police involvement, one of them even stabbed a couple people before he was subdued. There are many psychoactive substances that, used properly and under some sort of supervision, can be very successful in helping people overcome all kinds of trauma and other issues. But don’t fool yourself: Hallucinogenics and severe mental illness do not mix without creating tragedy. Please be careful out there.

If you think you can do something that defies what you think the laws of the universe are separate from pseudoscience (physicst here, let’s get a grip) and then observing what you go through. Of course it’s in your brain, because it’s all in your brain. That doesn’t change the truth or integrity of the observation. But it’s a pill and realization that you need to understand you live in pre biased illusion and I’d say atleast 10+ years of both mathematics, self actualization, and TM. The LSD guy clearly had a drug-induced psychosis. There's a thing called HPPD, but judging by how he wasn't psychotic or mentally ill before, I doubt that he had a severe case of that. His psychotic symptoms persisted long after the effects wore off, so yeah. I'd guess he has undiagnosed bipolar. The substance abuse and risky behavior (racing) are telltale signs of it. Also, if quantum immortality is a thing, he'd be alive in our universe/dimension, so his story checks out.

@DiceDealer Arts I have bipolar too. So you also know how different it can manifest from person to person. I have a friend who's far worse on the manic side, and he didn't realize he had it until I pointed it out. LSD guy might be type 2, as I am, and the constant use and abuse might have just held him over the water line, who knows. Also depends on what you're taking. For me, in example, meth is just asking for trouble. I can hallucinate from just a few lines, whereas normal amphetamine and Methylphenidate don't give me any trouble. Why I think he's psychotic, rather than experiencing HPPD, are his symptoms. Afaik, although it's chronic, the symptoms are minor. Visual trails, shadows out of corner vision, that sorta thing. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh God. I can’t even imagine what it would be like seeing a scene from Takashi Miike’s “Imprint” as your first horror movie scene. Especially with trauma like that. For anyone unfamiliar, Miike is a Japanese film director who is known for having very graphic violence in many of his films. You may be familiar with some of his movies like “Audition” and “Ichi The Killer”. Imprint” is an episode of the anthology show “Masters of Horror”, which is considered quite disturbing even to seasoned fans of the horror genre. Masters of Horror is an anthology, with each episode being a different, self-contained story directed and written by acclaimed legends of the horror genre. “Imprint” was supposed to be the finale of season 1, but it was shelved by Showtime for how graphic and disturbing it was. It ended up a DVD exclusive. Yeah, this guy showed someone who doesn’t like and hasn’t watched ANY horror a gruesome scene from a movie that got banned from cable broadcast for how disturbing it was. Even without that trauma, I imagine it would be a huge shock.

one of my ex boyfriends, who turned out to be a creep years later on an unrelate note, was super into takashi miike's works, especially ichi the killer. he showed me all of them when we were together and, although i'm a fan of some pretty graphic sketchy stuff when it comes to horror, it was a lot for even me... and this was before i had my diagnosis of cptsd from childhood abuse, memories still repressed and living in relative ignorant bliss when it came to my triggers. i watched the movies and years later have blocked them out mentally. i can't fathom showing miike's works, even just a clip, to someone in such a fragile state of mind like "angel", fictional or real person... if she knew her trauma was that bad to a point she had to have someone edit her comfort films, and she trusted those people to hang out with her? those people had to have been really special. it's likely that, if this story is real, they utterly destroyed angel's trust in anyone ever again, and sent her completely into age regression, which she already seemed borderline into with the comfort films being so PG and the room full of mattresses, etc.. that fucking breaks my heart. miike's works are not for the faint of heart in any way whatsoever, even when i was into straight up gore as an edgy teenager watching liveleak, his stuff probably still would've been a little too much. that's how gruesome takashi miike's stuff is. i literally cannot remember the scenes from ichi and imprint in vivid detail, my own mind blocked it out years ago, trying to recall the films/episodes are like watching through frosted glass... i can only hope her mind blocked out the imprint scene that was mixed into patch adams with the resulting age regression, and that she doesn't remember the needle-gums scene like the age regression would prevent her from remembering the murder/rape in the dumpster. may those memories stay sealed away and she live in peace- i don't think even therapy can bring someone back from the point of complete 24/7 age regression, if that's indeed what happened.

The angel story may possibly not be true but it is very real. Though completely censoring yourself from triggers can be very harmful nothing is more harmful than diving right in. If angel is real i can only hope she was able to get some help and at least come back to where she was before it all. @@PretendingToBeAHuman I also have PTSD, multiple kinds actually, the regular kind from a time when I was 11 and another kid my age CHASED ME WITH A KNIFE UNPROVOKED, and the CPTSD kind from my bullies at school intentionally triggering my (very physically painful) tourette's OVER AND OVER AGAIN EVEN AS I BEGGED FOR THEM TO STOP, and although I tried LITERALLY EVERYTHING OTHER THAN VIOLENCE to get it to FUCKING STOP, it never did. All this taught me a very key lesson that I still acknowledge to this day. Abusers are the way they are because they've never been meaningfully punished for their actions. It'd usually go something like this. I'd tell the school, the school would tell the parents, aaaaaaaand NOTHING FUCKING HAPPENED. EVERY FUCKING TIME. If I were those kids' parents, I would've fucking paddled them like what happened to my brother when he stole my mom's credit card to buy porn online as a teenager (The issue wasn't that he was looking at porn BTW, but that he stole money from my mom. He also got his computer access taken away until he was almost an adult). But anyway, they NEVER seemed to get punished by their parents for what they did to me. The weird thing about me is that I never blamed the bad things happening to me on myself, I always placed blame on the ones causing the bad things to happen. So my PTSD was (mostly) managed not by blocking the memories out or by reconciling with them, but rather building up a rage towards not only those who had wronged me but also the ones who never punished the ones who wronged me and the system that allowed all this to happen. I grew homicidally angry to the point where I almost got in trouble with the law for planning to kill the girl who chased me with a knife using my bare fucking hands. After all, she tried to kill me for literally no fucking reason at all, so why SHOULDN'T I return the favor? I was 14 at that time. My mom thankfully smooth-talked my way into being in the clear, but still. I've mellowed out a BIT over the years (I'm 24 almost 25 now), but I still feel literal genocidal urges towards fascists and bigots and the like. I still believe, for instance, that the next genocide in America should unironically be against the KKK. My PTSD wasn't healed, it was redirected into rage.

Yep, at the end of the day we don’t want the interesting wacky lies. We search for the truth and eventually we see the entire picture exposed. But it doesn’t change whatever films or the opinions of that. I’m half asleep barely remember the story but I hate how such a possible small part of her life sucked it all into the dark

The story in the They Eat Children Section is very similar to something I have experienced, 3 times, 2 different locations. Twice in my home town, once in the city. All in the winter. I live in Canada, fairly far north so we get polar nights. First time I saw it I saw flashing lights shining through my window. At first I thought it was lightning, then I remembered it was the middle of November and the sky was completely clear. So, I look out my window, see a large, tall, slender black creature staring at me from the porch of the house across the street. No facial features except for glowing white eyes, making direct eye contact through my window. I was terrified. So, I get my mom, tell her about the lights, not about the creature though. Suddenly, the lights go away as if the creature knew I was going to get help. 3 months later, this happens again. This time I wasn't alone in my room. My brothers ex was sharing my room with me for the night. The lights started flashing again. My brothers ex was asleep but I knew that if she was awake, she would be seeing what I was seeing. Knowing how the creature reacted to me being with another person last time, I went to sleep, feeling scared, yet safe. The last time I have encountered the creature was when my brother and I were in the city since he was getting his wisdom teeth removed. Again, in the winter. This time I felt more confident that whatever the thing was wouldn't hurt me as long as I had someone else to witness. I have always chalked this up to me having stress hallucinations but hearing other people experience something similar to me gives more possibilities as to what could have happened. Right now, my bet is on the Windegos. Considering last time I was outside at night in the winter I whistled for my dog and heard horrifying sounds before taking my dog and running inside. I live in the middle of nowhere, horrifying sounds aren't out of the ordinary but this was no fox, coyote or moose. It was something else. Don't whistle at night.

The stalker one was so long I was just waiting for it to be someone who had hacked into the family's security and was watching through a webcam / ringing the doorbell remotely. That's why the dogs only reacted when OP rang the bell, because the other times there was nobody there, it was remote. Then we went to the story about the weird ghouls or whatever in Australia and I remembered it's just 4chan trolls.

48:43 This story gave me chills, because I have an experience like it. I still remember being at my grandmother's house, on a rainy day, and wanting to build a fort with my sister using one of the tents that her and my grandfather used for camping when they were younger. They agreed, and helped us set up the tent in the garage with blankets on top of it and inside it, and so many pillows. It was great- they set up an iPad so we could watch Netflix, and we sat in there with the tent door open, facing the door inside of the garage that leads to the backyard. I remember we wanted to close the tent door to make it feel more cozy, but the dog was inside the tent and my grandparents wanted her to be able to leave. So we're watching a Barbie movie (the one with the mermaids), and suddenly my grandparent's dog is at the door barking at something. We pause the movie and call over the dog, since she'd been cuddling in the tent with us before she got up, and we were sad that she left. And that's when it walked past- a black figure, with long fingers. It was terrifying, and I'm still scared of the garage.

I hate the story at about an hour in. I hate that other people have identical experiences to me because it makes it real. I'm a 90s baby and didn't have free access to the internet until I was 18. I didn't even have a phone with a touch screen until I was 20. I had no way of having this kind of thing "suggested" to me. But yeah, the tall black creature staring from doorways, growing up with a phobia of sleeping with open doorways, covering all mirrors or tvs at night (tvs used to be reflective like mirrors), waking up feeling the oppressive "static"... I always explained it as being electrocuted and suddenly dropped like I was on a rollercoaster. It fucked me up for a long time when I realized I wasn't the only one who experienced this kind of thing. I don't know what the fuck that lanky tall thing that would watch me was, but I named it Kaw when I was a kid, and I still don't sleep with a door open. Luckily my 9 year old daughter never has nightmares, gives no shits, and doesn't scare over, like, anything except seeing mold lmao I always tell her that SHE is the monster under demons beds at night lol

Fuck this…when I was a kid I vividly remember waking up one night and seeing this black figure standing in my doorway. It wasn’t particularly tall but the arms were long, going down to where it’s knees would’ve been. My bed faced the doorway, so I had a full view of this thing as soon as I woke up. I’m Australian, by the way, but live in a different state than the author of the “They Eat Children” thread. Being a kid, and having just woken up, my first thought was that this thing was my mum, come to check on me in my sleep or something. I shared a room with my younger brother and it wasn’t uncommon for a parent to do this. I called out to her, and got no answer. I yelled louder and that’s when my real mum must’ve woke up and come over. When she approached the doorway the thing just faded away. I can’t remember what happened next. But I’m pretty sure she told me to go back to sleep or something. She didn’t quite believe me, at least -understandably so, because a 7 year old’s judgement isn’t very reliable at the best of times. I have a vague memory of seeing it again, but the second one was taller or something. It was a long time ago. Plus, the “static” feeling you described seems familiar - I remember waking up and seeing a swirling ball of bright white dots circling my bed, accompanied by a ‘pins and needles’ feeling. around the same general time period that I’d seen the black figures in the doorway. Always thought it was my kid brain making things up…but that story, and your reply…make me doubt that, just a little bit.

@@deviateedits @@deviateedits fuck, pins and needles, that's a better description than electrocution. And the arms down to the knees as well. I have literal goosebumps reading your comment because it's so FAMILIAR. I mean, I'd get if we had a generation of kids seeing Five Nights At Freddy's animatronics at night, but why are there so many of us seeing the exact same thing without suggestion? I hate it. Whatever it is, it ruined my childhood, and I was 25 years old with a kid of my own before I could even try sleeping in the dark. I still have to keep a fan on all year because I'm scared of hearing the sound of footsteps on carpet in the night

@@gypsydanger1013 I’m lucky that it happened when I was so young, I guess. Plus before now I though I’d imagined the whole thing, so I’ve never really been bothered by it. I’ve had a few episodes of sleep paralysis in the past, and often have strange dreams but apart from that, no real sleep issues. I do also always sleep with the door closed. Although I wouldn’t be too unsettled if I had it open either, it’s just a preference. But you’ve obviously experienced something very similar if what you say is true…as have plenty of others. I know what I saw, I vividly remember the vision of it standing in that doorway. I’m definitely going to do some research on Australian cryptids now…because this shit is uncanny. If you’re comfortable, would you mind sharing more details about your experience? To see if anything else matches up with mine.
@bobclack3256

The electric/pins and needles feeling, as well as the featureless black figure, are both well documented symptoms of sleep paralysis. It tends to happen less as you age, as everyone seems to be saying. Specifically a " Hypnic Jerk " can cause hallucinations that *may* be your brain dreaming while you're still conscious, but there's no real hard evidence on how it works. You can read the wiki on it, pretty well documented, although still weird.

@MEMENTO MORI right but I died, for sure, I'm confident I'm on universe 2 or 3 with my personal consciousness bc of 2 overdose deaths. But 2 of my friends died in this universe, so does that mean there was no possibility this universe could have existed with both me and my friends alive? They woke up in universe 3 and 4, as their consciousnesses experienced 1. Me alive, 2. Themselves dying, then waking up But when they each woke up, they would be in their new universe. I wonder why they couldn't survive in this, the universe I woke up in most recently.
