This is outrageously racist "coon" song is a classic example of what Rag-Time sounded like before 1900. Piano accompaniment is by either Frank P. Banta or Fred Hylands. Recorded May 26, 1899 on a Berliner disc record.
This was written by the popular black composer Irving Jones in 1899.

Judging 1899 from a 2020s perspective simply does not work. Many interviews with vocalists and musicians from that period have survived. Overwhelmingly, they saw it differently. The artists in general got along fine with each other. They saw a track such as this not as confrontational nor derogatory, but as good natured humor amongst one another.

I question whther this song is truly from 1899. The White House was not referred to as the White House until Theodore Roosevelt established that name by executive order in 1901. Before that order it was called the Executive Mansion. I'm inclined to believe that this video was produced by a contemporary (21st century) white racist to appeal to other white racists pf this period.

It was OFFICIALLY renamed "White House" in 1901 but it was probably called the "White House" by ordinary people long before that. The song dates to 1898 with Quinn's recording a year later.

Somehow this song was even more racist than I anticipated from the title. Prejudice aside, it's a terribly unoriginal song with uninventive lyrics and a bland melody. Its only value seems to be the novelty of the idea of a black president and the horribly racist imagery coming from that vision.
