What happens when a homeless couple move in with a millionaire?
After living on the streets of California for a decade, Greg and Marie received a remarkable invitation. A local businessman asked if they wanted to share his $4m home.
A year later, we reveal what happened next - and what the experiment tells us about America's homelessness crisis.
Video produced by Hannah Long-Higgins, Chelsea Bailey and Cody Godwin; edited by Hannah Long-Higgins.

I was once homeless me and my pregnant girlfriend.i didn't know what to do.Everytime I applied for a job or got an interview I got turned down because I couldn't afford nice clothes atm.Being homeless is probably one of the most hardships anyone can ever experience.I asked for help but never got it.thankfully I met a nice landlord that took me into his apartment and lended me some money and a car for job search.was able to save up enough to buy my own car and my rent is payed up for the whole year.all it takes is just one person and one little push to change your life around❤️

Nadine Blake I think it’s comical that people take away from any kind act, and decide to bring up race in a comment that doesn’t mention race... seriously, no one cares. Racism goes both ways, yeah, but I feel like you should mention this if this comment fits into what racism is.

I commented on this story when it 1st came out so I’m not sure if this is the same one as it’s been a very long time and it popped up on my BBC. Greg and Marie were tenants of mine in Nevada where I managed and lived in a weekly/monthly motel. this story truly does represent the love and generosity that these 2 have for each other and others. I knew this couple for years. Watching their enormous personal daily struggle was not easy at times BUT I witnessed amazing things from them ALL THE TIME. At that time of my life living full time onsite alone, Greg was a constant comfort for me. He watched over the building as his own home. Marie would cook food (that wasn’t easy to come by) and the 2 of them would walk around where homeless people were known to be and feed them. I cannot tell you how much I’m thankful to have met this beautiful couple. I now live in another state and writing this bring emotion and a couple tears. I miss them and hope they see this. I miss and love you guys and pray you are safe.

Lovely of you to want to support them - and to vouch for them. The nice rich man has a good heart but doesn't really understand. But oh! I wish America was full of people like him - just more aware of the battles and worries and decisions they face. So many just want more money and people, animals, environment are nothing but to be used for personal profit. It has done so much harm.

I thought about doing the same thing. But there are so many haters out there. I became homeless after my brother fucked my wife and my Dad kicked me out of home. I lived in the Bush out at the beach. I seriously don’t understand how this happens. Maybe I’m just crazy, but wouldn’t there be an orphanage or something that would take you in, or literally any one who passes you on the street? Strange. You must have interesting stories to tell, like how you got off the streets. That would make a good book tbh.

Same! I got out of it and he’ll no there is not no help for homeless kids nor adults. If you get lucky and get in a shelter as a woman you risk being attacked in the night. Not worth it. Shelter hours also make it hard to hold down a job. They only let certain # of people in and check in is usually 4 pm. If you get a job you need to sleep on the street so you’re able to get to your job everyday.

I cried too and I've had a few scares about my stability. It's hard though. But I know that I wasn't by myself through all of that. I couldn't have been, and neither are you. Things are a little better for us now but I sometimes think that it might be taken away, just like they do. They may have thought it was more stable living on the street because nobody can take that from them. The pity is they lose income if they get housing. The system. 😏😏😏 Rest if you must, but don't you quit. I'm rooting for you. 🤜🏾🤛🏾🖤🖤🖤

@Joe Me I never said it was! Nobody can honestly deny that Bless sounds like BE LESS. It is subliminally a bad word and low vibrational, as it's the same exact pronouciation! It doesnt matter what you mean by it, it's the virbration of the word itself!! You are a good example of how strong the bible spell actually is, as you will fight for it, even in the face of clear evidence to the contrary. I always got bad vibes from the word bless. Another definition for the word is a curse! Do your research! in the meantime ask yourself this- Why did I get bad vibes from the word BEFORE the internet was ever around (Therefore I had not learned of the BE LESS connection yet and was not CONSCIOUSLY aware of it like i am now)

I brought my son's homeless friend home for awhile. Early 30s, living in a drainage tunnel while working at Taco Bell. His mother lives in town, but I guess they didn't get along well. It only lasted 4 days. Sadly, it was just another person to clean up after, so I couldn't keep him sheltered. I'm too old and have mobility issues, and can't parent adults anymore. I have enough trouble supporting my own son for over a year who lost his job due to health issues. I can't even get him to take out the trash. Having someone who is exposed to the public on a regular basis during pandemic didn't seem like a wise idea. I don't even see my daughter and her family who live within walking distance. I so wanted to help him. Maybe I'll try again.

I dont think people in general are "pure". Nor do they need to be. With all our flaws we all still compassion and help and understanding occasionally. Projecting purity onto people is dangerous. When you find they are not - will compassion and benevolence end? Will we only help if people live up to our expectations?

Well, when you have a lot of money, you need to set priorities. In the USA, the priority is maintaining the country as the preeminent world superpower. Foreign aid increases the USA's international influence since it can be employed as a weapon via termination or reduction as they are doing with Iran. Of course those who set those priorities are the rich who stand t make money from having that control. That;s why they become infuriated when someone speaks about helping the poor with universal health care and free college education. This will come out of the money that they prefer to send to Israel and Afghanistan at the rate of eight billion per year and to them that is unacceptable.

This was a brilliant effort from all parties involved! I especially commend the producer of this series for sticking around. He took on the role of mediator because in reality these are very different people with very different mindsets so a neutral person needed to be around to help them understand each other better! This story is beautiful and really has made me want to work harder so I too may bring such pure light into the world.

Can we just appreciate the fact that as a certified nurse's assistant this woman probably dedicated years of her life to nourishing other people's lives and caring for their needs and She was placed in a position that demanded her to still be at the mercy of other people and was repaid by being given a place to stay in a millionaire's home.. if that isn't a blessing I don't know what is 🙏💕🙏💕🙏💕

John Perez SO TRUE! I was homeless twice. I served in the military, I have 2 Bachelor Degrees and a Masters Degree. I’ve successfully raised a young black man in this crazy society, I’ve traveled the world etc etc etc. untreated mental health conditions are a HUGE contributing factor to homelessness. I cannot tell you how many people I’ve met who were also homeless that struggled like myself with mental health issues. I’ve also been addicted to prescription pain pills and alcohol as a means to sooth my untreated mental health issues. This is a complex problem. Thank you for recognizing that we are in fact whole people.

Barb do not think like that! My mother always tell me not to live for myself alone. Live for other people too. Yes you got ripped off, it’s life! But if someone needs help and you can be like the Good Samaritan and do something. The Levite walked on the other side and did nothing. Do not be like him.
