I wouldve laughed my ass off if you did that whole jojo sequence about the mate in 1 and then white just pushes their pawn
@medexamtoolsdotcom2 жыл бұрын
Yes but even from the 400 rated guy I don't think that would have been very likely. White would only be backing up the pawn with the queen and black was attacking that square with their queen AND a pawn. The checkmate move was visible to the 400 rated guy mostly I think because they didn't even have many possible moves at that point.

Never use premoves, making moves before your enemy has decided is extremely dangerous in a chess game, if the 900 rating just decided to wait and see his enemies move he wouldn’t have zoomed into a death trap, he would have been able to see the mate in 1 and he would have probably checkmated even before that. Funny how moving before your opponent makes a decision often allows low ranking players to come out on top.

That might sound clever but it actually doesn't make any sense. The best swordsman will respond in a more predictable way, but only because that response will be the best possible response. I'm a little lost, how was the king able to move Three times and essentially INTO checkmate once?
@tarantulahank85373 жыл бұрын
black pre-moved their queen and rook
@isfett3 жыл бұрын
If you're talking about the part at 3:50, the queen put the king in check and the rook prevented it from going backwards. Then the rook moves, etc.
@darklordxerinic3 жыл бұрын
Pre-Moves are when a player makes their next turn’s moves before they actually happen. You can do this for as many turns in advance as you want. Because of this, white was able to maneuver their King in such a way to intercept the Queen before the Queen was on the top square. This means 1 of 2 things. A. White got incredibly lucky. Or B. White instantly recognized they were being pre-moved on and knew exactly where Black’s Queen was going to end up, and moved their King to the top square to trick the Queen into moving directly in front of the King, dooming it, and winning the game.

Ok i was confused too and i didnt know that was a thing, but then isnt "pre-moving" just useless or worse? Why would i risk being surprised and lock my future moves when i could just think them in my head? I mean, I'm less than an amateur in chess but this is a genuine doubt, because this move seems kinda absurd(or against the rules?) to happen

I think it's due to the rise in popularity of chess in general due to the Pogchamps(i think thats what it was called) thing. Even though I don't remember what it was called for certain, I remember it was a bunch of twitch streamers doing a chess tournaments

As near as I can tell, it's a confluence of factors. What @Nyan Human said is right in that there's a lot more online chess being played atm because of lockdown, the gachimeme-style chess videos seem to have begun with kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gLSgl5SIz6zPhZ8.html this video, which lots of videos then aped (this specifically calls back to it as part of the humor) - at least, the style and frequency of chess humor videos became much closer to this and their rate of upload became far more frequent shortly after the linked video was posted. However, most of them quickly spiraled into an overlap with Yakuza's baka mitai meme (except for CHESS.EXE which has more in common with Jamezietocool's Persona Memeverse videos), whereas this is much closer to to CHESS-PAWN-REQUIEM.
