This and the fact that there is nothing happening when you hit the wall in modern sims. Going fast in BeamNG is much scarier than zoomin in AC or even Forza.

Tony Longhurst's 1992 Bathurst qualifying lap in the E30 M3 Evo of 2:15.26 That's a mighty lap from a car with such little power. Can you match it? You'll need Assetto Corsa to get the right car and apply the livery.

I've been playing Gran Turismo for over 15 years now and I can tell you, The GT3 RS is a weird handling car in GT7 - but just as soon as you start modifying it.. With aerodynamic parts added, it gets incredibly unstable especially when braking and getting on the throttle while steering.. It's actually undriveable on controller. I'd bet you, you would be a good bit faster with the original aero-parts just adding the bolt-ons to increase the hp. Don't know either, what Polyphony has done to the modification of the 991.

I really hope Assetto Corsa 2 is like GT in the bolt-on sense... Seems like that's the only thing missing from the original AC at the moment.

What I realised with GT7 is that you need to spent lots of time tuning the car until it works “normal” and even more until you have a crazy good car. That’s quite annoying for those who want to buy their favourite car and just want to compete with it.

@@MazdaB-sq4ue Your ability to effectively drive the RWD cars does not mean that the RWD cars are undriveable. In fact this video is proof positive that even before the May patch which improved the handling and tire physics, the Porsche was very driveable and it was indeed capable of putting up great lap times (note the GT finish is faster than the actual Porsche finish).

Keep in mind, you did tune it by yourself making it different then the IRL one. So that's why you had under/oversteer.

legit tried to do donuts in Asseta Corsa but but i could not after trying for hours and hours but when i got my Skyline r31 legit could do 15 donuts in a row first try. sim racing is not the same as real driving and racing. in a real car you just have so many inputs and thats what lets me handle it better but in sim racing you only feel the wheel which only gives a fraction of the feel of the car in comparison. Great vid

I beat Randy pobst lap time on leguna seca with the Camaro ZL1 1le on gt sport. With the steering wheel and no assists. Tried it the closest settings to real life. But in the end it was possible because it's a video game and I'm not afraid of crashing and that plays a huge role.

I would love to see you trying to tackle the supposed stock mclaren f1 roadcar 7:11 in the nurburgring driven by supposedly Mika hakkinen, put some sporty huge sidewall tyres on that beast and do it! (i've hit 6:57 with "modern" tyres in project cars 2 on the same car, a bit optimistic i guess, still it drives awesome there, time for you to gather ~20 mill in gt7!)

I had the pleasure to drive Nurburgring Touristenfahrten (AKA The Green Hell) June 26th. In the rain. Driving on the track is not comparable to GT7. It will humble you. Hard. It was a dream come though. Hopefully I'll go back next summer and sneak a trip to Monza as well.

I know it's been done to death but you could probably get a much closer match in Assetto Corsa (at least visually). There is a 911 GT3 RS MR mod car available and there are also skins for Nordschleife that have trees without leaves. Of course there is precise weather and time of day control as well as precise camera angle control etc. I dare to say even the driving model would be better.

I'm a huge GT fan and i have to say you're right.After i FINALLY bought gaming pc its really impossible to come back to GT7 after trying AC/ACC/Automobilista 2. Physics, tyre grip, road feel, sound everything is just on whole another level compared to GT7.

Games on high end gaming PCs costing 6.67x the price of consoles (for the GPU alone), which have the advantage of PC mods unlike consoles...can't be compared. Ofcourse PC will have the edge. There's an actual scope for mods unlike consoles. Especially when the game is still limited by a previous gen console. No way they can compare. Not even in 10 years

Stefan Bellof in the Porsche 956. His Record Time 6.11.13. Unfortunately the 956 is not included in GT7. So i would say take the 962 instead.

I don't know if there are any mcmurtry automotive spieling mods out there for racing sims yet, but if there are, you should try to replicate the goodwood shootout winning and goodwood record setting lap.

That understeer sounded a lot like too stiff front antiroll bar and looking from the setup (if it the same as shown here in the video) yes - 6/5 isn't a good ratio for rear engine car at the Nordschleife. You need some front end chassis twist for more grip in order for the front to bite and be more predictable. Also front tires 0.3-0.4 degrees more negative camber than the rear. Then it SHOULD become stable. Don't know if it will work in GT7, but it works in every other sim-racer.

With lap time records the finish line is at the left kerb on the left at the last corner exit in real life so your time should be shortend by a few seconds
