I have had palpitations for about 6 months now. it goes beat, beat, pause, hard beat, back to normal. I've been to the hospital 3 times, 3 different doctors, ekgs, blood work, and x-rays. everything came back normal. I told them all about my mother passing away in 2015 from a heart problem and they said the heart issue she died from was brought on by smoking, drinking, and unhealthy eating. her father passed away at 48 from the same thing. they said i have nothing to fear but I am CONSTANTLY worrying about it. it is very scary. & when it first started it came on very sudden and very hard. now it usually happens when I am resting at night. it doesn't happen often when I am keeping myself busy. they all said it was anxiety. I've been diagnosed with severe anxiety, depression, and have bad sleeping habits. your videos have definitely brought some closure to me. thank you.

Have been crying tonight because yet again, I can't sleep due to palpitations that come on when I try to go to sleep. I want to tell you how wonderful it is out here in the States where I now live,to be able to listen to you with all your information.The fact that you have taken the time to say all this is (excuse the pun) heartwarming! I also feel better hearing your accent because I am originally from the Uk also! I keep being given holtor monitors to see whats happening but my heart often seems to behave perfectly when I have that on, and awful when I don't! Well anyway,thanks again and hopefully next week will be a better week for me because every night this week has been awful and last night I was awake with palps most of the night! Keep up the good work. :)

I have palpitations but I haven't had any of these symptons or family history of this stuff...my mother and grandmothers and grandfathers on both sides died at old age and no one in my family has ever dropped dead or had heart disease, my father doesnt have palipations at all...my grandfather had high blood pressure from eating bad food for years but he still lived till 68 and was overweight his whole life....I believe my mother passed anxiety on to me she told me she used to have anxiety really bad in the 80s with palpitations etc and she still has them every blue moon but they don't bother her anymore she's 57....thank god for this doctor and thank god I don't have any of these symptoms....I'm still a work in progress with this stuff it can freak you out.

I went to the dr then and I had done an EKG, Holter monitor and an echocardiogram.. they all came back as normal. They did found out I had pvcs. I stopped eating chocolate (which btw I absolutely love) and stopped drinking caffeinated drinks and it made a difference. A few months later I got palpitations again and I have them all the time specially if I'm stressed or very anxious! Next week I have an appt with a cardiologist, Im going in for a check up!. Hopefully they will say that my palpitations are benign!! Thanks again for this video! also your calm voice made my worries go away! love it! :D Best regards from the USA!

I only speak for myself, but 'sudden' death would be the very least of all worries. If it were to happen, it would be....well.....sudden, and I can do squat about it. I stop....period. It'll be over, just that quick. Instead, I dread heart failure as much as I dread drowning....but I repeat myself. To me, far better to get whacked in the back of the heart than to see it coming and to have to live hour after hour, day after day, week after week, knowing that my heart is dying.

I feel that some of my doctors base their hypothesis on my problem way too much on age. I get that the vast majority of people who are young don’t have major heart issues, but what if I am one of the outliers? Don’t just dismiss as if I’m crazy. Oh your just a child! No way you can even have an issue! I’m not a doctor but even I understand that that way of thinking is quite dangerous.

I have had palpitations for 38 years I’m now 73 years old and had a pacemaker put in 7 weeks ago ,and still going like the pink elephant with Duracell batteries ,even though I have a.pacemaker put in ,I still have the palpitations ,there are days I have had thousands off skip heart beats,and odd feelings and the heart stop and go ,I’m still here ,eating working and complaining ,and bugging someone ,and enjoying life until it stops ,I don’t worry never did never will ,until my eyes close for good ,why don’t I worry ,it’s because my lord and saviour said why worry you can’t change one thing by worrying ,so I don’t worry because it’s up to him ,I will enjoy while I’m here ,then I will enjoy after when I get with him ,what more could you ask for ,that all I want and need to know that’s what my house is built on faith in what god has promised ,let me give you a little tip ,if you have ears to hear listen ,and he will whisper to you things you never known before ,yes it will change your life forever ,it did for me I’m not crazy ,he said my sheep hear my voice ,yes he talks to his sheep everyone off us ,but do we here him ,it sad because we have to much off the world in us to hear his voice ,but he keeps trying ,I was 69 year before I really heard and understood for the first time ,don’t expect too much ,he is a god off few words ,but very important words ,and sometimes a long time before he speaks ,but he is always right there when you are in trouble ,call on him he will answer ,and always remember what he said,that the afflictions off the just are many ,but he delivers them out off them all ,so we get afflicted like every one else ,but he delivers when you call on him ,amen

There is an acupuncture point which stops palpitations. I was taught this long ago, and it always worked, and in the end the palpitations stopped. You draw an imaginary line along the base of your little finger nail. Another down the side. Where they intersect, there's a tiny triangle of flesh. Use a rounded pencil end, or similar, and press down until the palpitation stoppes. It works every time, and after a while, the palpitations go away.

Can you be more precise please, I'd like to try this but I'm not sure how or where
@isabellajones8535
@isabellajones8535 2 жыл бұрын
@@petbetpet I cant do more than I have above, as I cannot produce a diagram. I'll try again. Are you right handed? OK. get a pencil with a small point, but rounded. If it's a sharp point it will hurt. Look at the little finger on your LEFT hand. Go the nail. On the outside of the nail, on the Left hand side, track down until it meets an imaginary line running along the base of your nail, where the nail meets the "quick". Inside there is a tiny area of skin and flesh. This is where you press the pencil point - or any other small point that is not sharp - and increase pressure but stop if it hurts. hold the pressure until the palpitation stops. Then stop. Do this every time you get a palpitation. AFter a while, they go away.

I've been diagnosed with PVC'S & most recently SVT. I wore a Zeo patch holter monitor for 2 weeks. SVT lasted over 1 minute. I never had heart symptoms until my thyroid was removed in 2012 due to cancer. That's when I started having symptoms. I get my thyroid hormone levels checked regularly & thankfully my levels have stayed stable for quite a while. I'm 47 & perimenopausal as well. I'm going to have a stress test soon. I've had stress tests, EKG'S, heart monitors several times before along with echocardiograms. It used to be worse when on Synthroid. Since going off Synthroid & being on natural desiccated thyroid hormone medication everything is so much better! I take magnesium, multivitamin, walk regularly, not obese, etc...

Having your thyroid removed most certainly brought on your heart issues! I hope you are doing well and able to keep normal thyroid levels these days? I have mild border-line hypothyroidism myself. Not on medication yet and hope not to have progression of the disorder!

Your videos make me feel so much better. Thank you, Dr. Gupta. I had endocarditis when I was little and have a very small insufficiency of aorta and the mitral valve, but I've always had good blood pressure 115/80 and exercise frequently. I'm 34 years old and while I experienced my first palpitations at the age of 13, they came back with a vengeance this summer and lasted for 4 weeks, then they started again after a 6 week break and haven't stopped since. A holster ECG came down with as little as 3000 ectopic beats per day ( I don't have them when I exercise, and I don't have them when I sleep), but I think some days they're more frequent. It's a vicious circle now, because they are very unpleasant and I regret getting this smartwatch which can unfortunately record ECGs.... I don't know if they'll ever go away, nor what triggered them. I started supplements, and I don't think that's my problem -- they even got worse. I got off of them and now just deal with them as best as I can, because I don't want to be on beta blockers or have an ablation, but I am at my wits end.

My symptoms are very similar to yours (save for the aortic insufficiency/valve issue); for the past two months I have had persistent/constant palpitations. I had an ECG and they diagnosed Afib; of course they want to put me on drugs, which I have resisted. I have a wonderful kinesiologist and with his knowledge, combined with that of Dr. Gupta, we are identifying things that could be contributing to the palpitations. Some of these are: magnesium deficiency, dehydration, alcohol consumption, trapped emotions, and skeletal misalignments in the cervical vertebrae. My CRP is .5 so I don't think inflammation is a cause, though I am taking anti-inflammatories like Chaga mushroom, beet & chlorella supplements, Sulfphur and eating more green veggies (which I always have). I have also added "heart supportive supplements" such as Co-Q, hawthorn, and Standard Processes Cardiowise. Additionally, I am drinking LOTS of fluids - water, kombucha and bone broth that I make. I walk 10 miles/day with my dog, mostly because we LOVE it (no problems walking, but some shortness of breath going up steep hills or at elevation). I feel that I now have a good understanding of what is happening; I need to maintain my regimen to resolve the palpitations. Watching Dr. Gupta's videos has greatly alleviated my anxiety and feeling of "impending doom" (which is one of the trapped emotions that was cleared by my kinesiologist). I have had all of the blood tests (all fabulous), ECG and echo; I see a cardiologist for the first time later this month.... it will be interesting to hear what he has to say, but I believe that I am already on the road to recovery .... good luck to you, and don't worry too much - it causes inflammation! P.S. - I am 66 years young...

Hey Dr, lately I've been having SO many PVC'S. I wrote to you before, but I am again, hope you don't mind! So, brief history of me. I had an Ultra sound on my heart when I was 16-17 I started to notice the pvcs. I actually diagnosed myself with them, haha. However, I immediately went and got an EKG, 24 Hour Holter Monitor, Ultra Sound, etc, Blood Work, etc.(I'm 19 now) Lately, sometimes I feel light headed(past year or two), I went in to urgent care a year and a half ago and had some tightness of the chest and again, I go another EKG, blood work, and it was fine. I also even got a full urine test. I had an MRI 5 years ago because I have floaters and I wanted to make sure my eyes were okay so we ordered one. also, I have had my eyes fully examined at Wills Eye institution. So, overall, everything has been checked and it's all fine. Right now as I'm writing this I'm getting pvcs and they make me feel drained and lightheaded, but I've felt lightheaded before without them. I do have and always have had some anxiety. The doctors told me before that it was the anxiety. However, I'm just so worried because I'm wondering if it's the anxiety making me feel like this due to the pvcs or the pvcs making me feel like this. it's hard to know and it just stresses me out beyond belief. Could you help me out? Thanks Doc, from Eric.

I'm 41 years old now and noticed palpitations when I was about 34 or 35. Scared the hell out of me. I get them off and on. When I get them they will happen everyday for days to weeks even a couple months. Then boom, I'll go a year and nothing. When I was 36 I had a stress test, an ekg and everything came back fine. This January I had an x-ray of my chest (for another medical reason) but they said my heart looked ok. I saved your channel all these years cause sometimes the skipped beats happen so often and the thuds can be so hard it scares me. I watch your video's and feel a lot better. I was born with a heart murmur but it went away and I don't believe it has anything to do with my off and on palpitations. Doctors never said anything about it and they know I was born with that issue. Anyway, I've been dealing with these for at least 6 years off and on so if you're like me don't freak out. I think it's a good idea to get checked but unless you fit the criteria of what Dr. York says just make an appointment and get checked and try to not freak out. If you pass out or what Dr. York said to watch out for again, you can always go to the E.R. or call 911. Best case you spend a night in the hospital and find out you're ok. Worst case you catch something early and can get it taken care of.

I keep very fit and still teaching fitness classes each day. I’m a non smoker and eat fairly healthily. I had a spell of gentle palpitations ; the longest Ive experienced, say 10 mins , just after I’d eaten my lunch today and was sitting down. Let me clarify that to me I translate “palpitations” as a fluttering sensation of my heart. Have I got this term right ? Should I mention this to my doctor or not ?

Palpitations are dangerous if you have one while driving, if you pass out and hit your head, if you fall down the stairs. I have SVT and it took 2 years to get a diagnosis and get medication despite the fact that I was passing out. The medication stopped working after a few years. I had to insist on seeing a specialist. I had to insist on getting a stress test. Family G Ps are utterly useless when it comes to palpitations. My life has been horribly affected for 7 years. I finally had an ablation and I'm still getting palpitations.
