I have heard things can actually get this brutal. There are some well-known cases in Asia, Japan and Korea specifically, that I've heard about. They are so brutal they are not even classified as bullying, but school violence. Most of the cases I'm refearing to are people litterlay torturing their classmates for hours or days, leaving them with physical and mental scars. I believe little is done about it because, at least Korea has a law that prohibits minors under the age of 15 or 13 to be held acountable for crimes commited. We have that law in my home country too, it's 15 here. On top of that, I believe a lot of schools only want to brush it under the rug or just keep it lowprofile so as to not make their school look bad for having bullying, or the victims are too afraid to come forward due to threats.

For those of you who don't understand the reactions of bully victims, let me explain: Imagine being tormented for a long time and you have a pent up anger. The period of time you are tormented could be months and years. When you[ve finally break you start scheming things in your head to the point that you want to do something so unpredictable that it will shock and traumatize a bully. I used to be bullied and I ended up scarring the bully by hitting her in the head with a hardback book called " The boxcar children". Little did she know that I was holding myself back during the whole time she bullied. I've had a lot of boy cousins and brothers who would annoy me at home and wrestle with me. So, I could have went out all on that bully. My mother didn't want me fighting in school and she would just tell me to ignore the bully. I got tired of the chick. The bully would call me dumb and ret*rd because I was quiet in school. She would also sabotage and steal my art supplies, yank my hair, accuse me of doing crazy stuff around other classmates, pinch me for no reason, etc. I saw her a few years ago at home depot with a bang over her forehead. She looked at me embarrassingly and I smiled at her knowing why that bang was there.

I think that ever since Madoka Magica, people have been adding dark elements to Magical Girl animes after Madoka Magica set off the chain (I can’t say Madoka Magica was the first Magical Girl Anime to be dark, but it definitely popularized it)

I would also like to say just because they are cute little girls doesn't mean they aren't evil. I have seen little girls acting like literal hellspawns. And they would act like they did nothing wrong, hiding behind a facade of a pure innocent face.

thank god i never experienced bully in school. I was always quiet in class and hardly spoke to anyone. people in my class didn't always pay attention to it, but when they came to me it was for lessons or just for having a normal conversation. But even if i was bullied, i wouldn't be able to hurt them back.

I know in my high school if you try to bully someone if gets stopped real quick. It was like a thing all four of my years, the seniors kept the younger grades in check

Story: one time in 6th grade we had a boy who had really bad anger issues and once our bullies kept on teasing and this man went offff like he gave on boy bruises on the face and the hand and once someone other than anger issues won a football match and gave him a um rather big bruise on his ribcage. We found out that he didn't just give HIM a kick but that whole football team had got beaten up so bad the 9th graders had to come and pull them apart. Safe to say he is now in therapy

I worked at a school and yes some kids can be very cruel. I spot some kids forcing another to seat on a crayon held up. I don’t believe in physical punishment toward kids but i won’t lie when i recall that my first thought was to give them all a slap. I made them watch a video about the consequences of bullying a person (as i know someone who at the age of 30 had anxiety disorder and barely leaves their house) and they had to write down 10 reasons on why they will never bully again.

Ok but these things that bullies do in anime can actually happen irl all around the world and its honestly just sad.

The unfortunate thing with all of these situations, other than the magic parts, and way too much human strength for some, these bullies do exist. They are to extremes of them, but they do still exist, some do rarely get to that extreme as well. It is very sickening, there are some that are worse out there too. Also the ones that have no one doing anything about it isn't as far out of the question as you'd think either.

A lot of these may sound unrealistic, but that one where they spoke about the bullies who kept the girl from seeing her grandpa. I once had a friend in jr high who became pretty depressed because his grandpa had passed away. He and I were in 8th grade at the time. In one of our classes together, he vented about losing his grandpa, and said he just wanted to be left alone, so I gave him some space. However, after class ended, I was walkin to my next class when suddenly I felt my friend run through me and someone next to me. He looked back with tears in his eyes, and I just thought that maybe it was a hard day for him. He later explained that the 9th graders overheard our conversation, and after I had left him alone, they moved in to pick on him. I'm a Polynesian, so I'm naturally pretty big. In 8th grade, I was 5"11, and I was a rugby player weighing 195 pounds, so I def looked older than I really was. The following day, I walked through the hallways shouting their names as we walked from class to class. Everyone put the word out that I was lookin to throwdown, so those guys stayed away from me, and even reported me to the office lmao. The end of the day, my friend told me that all of them had gone and apologized to him lol Some anime bully scenes be outta pocket fr, but that one hit me a lil hard.

When I was in primary school (prison) I was actually traumatised, I’m not kidding, my experience was worse than high school. Multiple desks got thrown over. Once a girl threw a chair at her best friend. Two boys knocked a girls head into a glass window (it didn’t shatter) but she got really injured. A boy kicked another one until he was bleeding. Once I got hit with a piece of glass for taking someone’s colouring pencils. I was injured really badly and my dad went to Poundland and got some Spider-Man bandages for me, but he put like the healing tape on it first, the bandage was just so it looked pleasing. And a kid threatened to bring a gun in and shoot a boy/get her dad to shoot him. Btw I live in England in the Cotswolds, in a small village which only had 300 students in the whole school. But other than that I would love to go back there, the teachers were lovely.

In some counties bullying does happen like this and worse. I know anime is mostly Japanese but Korea is a good example of bad bullying. My favourite singer from Korea got a rope around his neck(like a noose) and dragged around school

I'm glad you went to school somewhere fairly civilized, because I went to a NY school and got beat up pretty solidly at least once a semester in addition to being smacked occasionally when the bullies thought they could get away with it. It depends less on the country and a lot more on whether people running the schools and the community care enough to do something.
