What if your green card was never back-dated? Because my Assylum was granted in January 2017, and 1year after, I applied for green, and. The date on my green card is August 2018. What can I do in this case?

3:34 I think people have to pay green card based asylum unless you apply for Form I-912 for fees waiver, if anyone has any articles about this share with us please. Thanks

Yes that's correct there's a filing fee involved unless a fee waiver is granted.

Hello Mr Hawkings, thank you for your contents as it helps so many people. I have a question about the asylum based green card. Using the exact dates in your example from the video if the Asylum grant is on Sept 13,2022 and the adjustment of status is filed 365 days after (Sept 13,2023) and subsequently granted on Feb 12,2026 then back dated to Feb 01,2025. There's about 2 years and 4 months from the day asylum was granted to the date it was back dated by USCIS. I would like to know whether or not that period is tallied in the 5 year clock before Naturalization? Thanks

That’s not quite accurate. You can apply 4 years after your green card approved.

I have a green card through asylum and planing to marry my fiance who is a US citizen. When can I apply for citizenship? I mean I am only eligible to apply for citizenship after 5 years from the date my green card was approved, but would marrying my US citizen fiance shorten my eligibility to 3 years?
