Well what do you think would have happened had Cromwell lost? i think things would be much better by a long shot. Also I think the Scottish and the Irish Catholic Confederation should have sided with Charles 1st sooner to allow a victory for the royalist.

It's honestly hard to say what would have happened if the Parliamentarians lost. I'd imagine the Catholic Confederacy would have worked out a treaty with King Charles to gain better rights for Catholics, which was already happening. They were called 'The Graces'. Charles I was never really harsh on Catholics, which makes sense seeing as his wife was one, much to the annoyance of Parliament. Not really too sure what would happen regarding Scotland and the Covenanters, but other than that it would have certainly worked out better for Ireland.

I respect Catholics- but I do have a very English weariness of Spaniards! Nevertheless, Pagan is better for describing Muslims, not Catholics
