A design system is the most useful when guiding the implementation of a UI component library that's going to be used to build a product.

The bigger problem to design systems is "earthrise bias", being that you're inside an organisation that you can fix from the outside. Scale is not the problem, consistent communication in logical causality is. And finding "the airspace" to speak about the scientific and psychological safety you need in order to "design a system". Next, the looops are just connecting "words of image", where the "diagram" is actually not a diagram but simply a container-concept. Second, "reality" is just another point of view on design. Not the way the world "actually works", there are just too many words needed to explain crystal clear; this is the FORM, FICTION and FUNCTION of the system design. Stories and pictures work, but they are often not the right kind of way to refer to them.
