That game definitely has its continuity on point. Especially the mention of Clyde Langer now working with the homeless, suggesting he's still looking for Ellie.

He's a pretty minor character, since he was only ever in the one story. The show has never explicitly confirmed that they're related and how, but I believe Moffat has said she was based on Sergeant Osgood. The glasses are a dead giveaway. And there are some recent Third Doctor comics that have featured more of him and given him an inhaler.

Canonically, he's her uncle.

This is the family connection information from her characters page on Tardis wiki: "In DWM 484, Steven Moffat admitted his intention when writing was for Osgood to be the daughter of UNIT soldier Tom Osgood from the Third Doctor era. However, he did not want to state this definitively in the script so fans would be able to form their own interpretations. In the audio story Power Cell, Osgood responds to the suggestion that she had an uncle who used to run around shooting aliens with "something like that". This is consistent with the theory that Tom Osgood is Osgood's father and with the lack of definitive confirmation. In the audio story Call to Arms, John Benton says Osgood is "just like him", and she automatically assumes he means someone specific other than the Doctor - "you mean, just like my..." - but her inquiry cut short before she names them. In the short story For the Girl Who Has Everything, however, Osgood's father is named Frank, though this confirmation does not negate the possibility of Tom Osgood still being related to Petronella."

The zygon version would have the same name, since they're meant to be the same person in two bodies.

Definitely. Though it can be a bit of a slog to watch the whole classic series beginning to end. If you read the description of my minisode playlist, there is a link to a viewing guide I wrote that includes a crash course of essential classic stories, as well as listing episodes that are relevant to stories in the modern series. I recommend starting with those, and then you can fill in the blanks between them gradually.

Yes! Perfect chance to try it, while the show is in a transition period, and you have 9 months to wait. Its what I did back in 2009. Every true Whovian should try it, just skip Planet of Giants, The Awakening and Black Orchid....bored me to tears. But give The Web Planet a chance, more imaginative than anything modern Who did
