My Tortie Persian adored the vet. And would sometimes work as a receptionist. After she passed,( we had been seeing the vet weekly for months), the office called and told me it was not the same place after she passed. I always said that she carried the sunshine in her back pocket

This is so relatable. I had a large, mixed-breed dog that could smell the Vet from 29 miles, and he had to be carried to the car, inside the Vet's office, and resisted the entire time. He was about 75 lbs.Join the crowd. Lol.

My dog LOVED going to the vet. He loved visiting all is girlfriends who worked there and he adored the doctor. He would run to car and get all excited when he saw the building a block away. Then he would run as fast as he could to the door. He didn't care a bit about the shots.

Actually I wish Vets could take care of humans too! Most Vets are very kind, caring and compassionate! When I have an MD that treats me poorly, I tell him/ her "Did you know it is harder to get into Vet school than to get into Medical school?" They have to have a larger knowledge base! What works for a dog, doesn't work for a car, or a bird ,or a horse or a cow!

My dog hated going to the vet's office but loved the vet. We use to call ahead and he would step out after we called and opened the office door and call her, she would run and jump in his arms and look around like " you got me again".

My dog love’s going to the vet - probably because he knows he’ll get at least a dozen beef liver treats and a lick mat full of peanut butter! It helps to have a dog-owning Vet who truly loves and understands dogs.

Bulldogs are generally born caesarean. I had a bulldog when it was time for her 2nd litter. We took her to vet, parked at side of building. When I opened the car door, she jumped out, ran around side of building, went past the front desk and back to surgery. I just sat down. The waiting room was full. The other patients were a little huffy and ask me where she was going. When I told them, they relaxed ohhhh.

My Labrador loved the vets. Was given treats. Vet called another dog in & she started crying. Receptionist asked if she was OK. She was crying cos he didn't call her. Absolutely loved the vets

Aw! One time I picked up my Beauty Cat and she was trembling so I said "Why are you trembling, you love the vet!" and the sweet tech sprayed a towel with a calming solution and that settled her right down.

Nine if this is "funny." It's stressful and painful for these dogs. Every vet we go to, takes our pet "into the back room". Why is that? What happens back there to cause my dogs to be si fearful? I had a cat who came out with lameness in his hips once, and another who was sedated without my permission because she was "uncooperative " People need to be aware. If your child is terrified to go to school, might there be a problem?

My 1.5 year old papillon gets excited when we go to the vet - "OMG so many people and new dogs to meet" - even after he got his needle (which he wasn't thrilled about tbh) - he still licked the vets hand and wagged his tail. (this said I used to own a mini foxie who used to start to shake the moment we got out of the car and started to walk across the parking lot, so I know these feels haha)

Normally my dog, Bonnie, loved everyone she met but at the vet's her teeth would chatter like crazy. I always felt sorry for her. She never bit any of the vets and was always happy to get out of the office afterwards. I miss my little Bonnie.

Not all dogs are afraid of vets. One of my earlier dogs looked forward to going to the vet when he had any medical problem. He would not flinch even if vet gave him painful injections.

I knew a guy that had a female dog who loved the vet, every time I went with him because my ex-wife was the veterinary and he was my coworker, I thought the dog loved my ex-wife, in the end, in the vet was the only place the dog was free of mistreatment, yeah we found out the dog suffered violence from the guy at home, all kind of violence. Pay attention to a dog who's not afraid of vet, NORMALLY isn't a good sign.

My family had a Samoyed. You could wrap a pill in chicken, beef, cheese, didn't matter. She would bite away the food and literally "ptooey" the pill out on the floor in under a second. It was like watching a buzz saw.

My kids love to go for a ride and they do good until they see where we are going. I just tell them that my vet's wife is in their waiting for them. And go in the office and they have to go see her first. When the vet is ready for us they give me look that says mom you didn't tell us he was going to be here.
