Barmer falls in one of the driest regions of the world- the Thar Desert in Rajasthan. This region had a rich legacy of rainwater harvesting that gradually eroded with time. This film tells the inspiring story of how the district administration in Barmer revived this tradition under the Mahatama Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) to give livelihood and life-long drinking water security to poor families.

मुझे गर्व है मेरे राजस्थान के किसानों पर जो इतने कम पानी होने पर भी हिम्मत नहीं हारते ओर खेती-बाड़ी करते हैं वहीं दुसरे राज्यों में आये दिन किसान आत्महत्याएं करते रहते हैं जबकि उनके पास पानी की भरमार होती है

बहुत ही अदभुत झलकियां खास कर ग्रामीण राजस्थान की । स्वर भी मार्मिक ढंग से काम में लिया गया है। पार्श्व धून तो एकदम से राजस्थानी संस्कृति और उसकी विरासत को समक्ष दर्शन करवा रही है। वीडियो में निशंद्देह बहुत अच्छा सन्देश दिया गया है,,, पानी की कीमत अपन राजस्थानवासियों से अच्छा कोई नहीं जानता। भले ही प्रकृति कितनी भी कठोर क्यू ना हो हमें फिर भी इससे कोई शिकायत नहीं है। जय जय राजस्थान।

सचमुच ही पश्चिम राजस्थान में पानी की बहुत ही ज्यादा किल्लत है ।और अगर ऐसे ही चलता रहा तो राजस्थान में ही नही पूरे भारत मे ये स्थिति हो जाएगी लेकिन पैसे वालों को कोई दिक्कत नही होगी हमेशा की तरह क्योंकि भारत मे जुगाड़ से सब काम हो जाता है।और मारे जाते है बेचारे हम जैसे गरीब । वास्तव में पश्चमी राजस्थान के लोग बहुत ही मेहनती और जिंदा दिल आदमी है।

7 साल का पुराना कल्चर पुरानी यादें ताजा ताजा हो गई जब हमारे बीकानेर जिले में बारिश नहीं होती है तो हम गांव वाले मिलकर एक हवन करते हैं जिसमें छोटी बच्चियों का सभी बड़ों को प्रसाद दिया जाता ह लेकिन यह चीजें अब धीरे-धीरे समाप्त हो रही है

I lived in Barmer. Such a lovely people are Barmerees ,i still miss them .my tongue is Punjabi and hindi but learnt Barmeri vernacular. People of Thar can live anywhere in world successful ly,but others cannot live in thar successfully.

Good Documentary on RAin water (Palar Pani) harvesting. Indeed this practice is prevelant since the days of Raja-Rajwara in Rajasthan. Now the Govt. has done tremendous job in Rajasthan in providing water to each household, by undertaking big projects

The condition of Jodhpur was much similar that of Barmer a long time ago, but after the Indra gandhi canal was built there is ample amount of water in Jodhpur. Thanks to the then government who made life of lakhs of people more easier. The water harvesting method should be made compulsary in water sacarcity areas by the existing government. I am from south region of thar now we are getting water from narmda canal (sardar sarovar dam) for drinking and irrigation it almost doubled income of people .although the area where canal reched is a little part of desert. Water in ground in my village is only 12-15 feet under but it is as salty as cattles can't drink it. For drinking we use rain water stored in underground tanks if a good rain falls we get enough water to drink year long .

I live in Delhi with good water supply but have always tried to save water and preached to follow this to the people I could. Why schools, companies, politicians and KZfaqr don't spread this, It's high time that we learn to conserve, manage and reuse water properly.

हमे ऐसी सरकार चाहिए जो राजस्थान मे पानी व्यवस्था कर सके गर्मी इतनी है की हमे स्नान नही सिर्फ पीने का पानी मिल जाए तो काफी है

यह तस्वीर उन लोगो को जरूर देखनी चाहिए जो सबमर्सिबल का पाइप लेकर घंटो अपने वाहन,पशु और कुछ नही तो सड़क ही धोते रहते हैं शायद यह तस्वीर देश के बाकी हिस्सों में भी आने में ज्यादा समय नहीं लेगी और आने वाली पीढ़ी से हम वो छिन रहे है जो हमे मिला हुआ है। Nature is Dying!! मै खुद राजस्थानी हु ओर राजस्थान में अब लोगों को पानी बरबाद करते मैने देखा है जो पानी के लिए संघर्ष करते थे, अब उन्हें पानी की कोई कदर नहीं 🥺🥺

Absolutely right लोग अब बहुत ज्यादा स्वार्थी हो गये है पानी की किल्लत होते हुए भी लोग पानी को बहुत ज्यादा बर्बाद करते हैं मेरे गांव में पानी की किल्लत है फिर भी पानी की कोई कद्र नही है मेरे गांव के लोगों को समझाया नहीं जा सकता क्योंकि वे अब आधुनिक जो गये ,वे अव पहले से ज्यादा चतुर जो हो गये हैं यदि उनसे कोई कहे की पानी बर्बाद मत करो तो वो समझाने वाले को ही गाली देने लगते हैं हाय रे आने वाले समय में मेरे गांव का क्या होगा
