The scariest part is that she isn't crying when speaking to the officer, because she didn't know how bad her situation was. She had no idea what normalcy was.
@Gogoogooooogo6 ай бұрын
Not crying from a traumatic event is very normal. I’ve met a lot of people who have told me about how they were beaten and raped in their childhood and none of them cried. People who experienced trauma are emotionally numb, I hope this clears this up because trauma isn’t anything like how movies and tv shows make it out to be. That’s not to say they’ve never cried about it but they’re numb when they have to retell their trauma, especially if it happened a long time ago

They were forced to eat excessively and then forced to eat "their own vomit", and the foster father was accused of "grabbing and fondling" them and "kissing them on the mouth".[41] The foster family was arrested and charged with abusing multiple children in their care.

Nope. It was clearly an investigative question, it's just that you didn't get that ;-) Cops handled this exceptionally well, helped the victims, made sure they were safe, deescalated the situation as much as possible but stepped into action as soon as they had enough legally to be decisive. Made sure there were no guns involved, didn't take the mofo's word for it and searched him and how they handled the parents psychologically was great. Their task is not to condemn or be aggressive or emotional, it's to investigate and act decisively without endangering anyone. If we had more cops like these, a whole lot of suffering could be prevented

Just this year, a foster child was forcibly removed from our home for attacking one of our children, and since nobody wanted her, she was put into the psych ward of the hospital for a month. The psych ward was just a monitored hospital room, with a hospital bed. During that time, she didn't see daylight, nor leave her room. She just got to sit there, and watch TV and eat. School was put on hold. The system didn't care about her, and didn't visit, just a box checked in their mind. My wife and I at least visited her once a day and keep her spirits high.

Sometimes when enduring extreme trauma as a child your sense of self doesn't solidify in order to shield your mind from the horror and you end up with a system of multiple personalities. If that’s all they know, it becomes normal to them but they know deep down something is really wrong. I’m sure that one kid was in denial thinking the parents intentions were good. What happened to them was a long nightmare, and the brave girl became a hero and rescued her siblings. I hope they are all doing a lot better. It’s sad that they really struggled in foster homes too…

I think these people are delusional and they truly believe what they're saying. I'm usually not one to judge a book by its cover, but I can't shake the feeling that they look as mad as they seem to be. The woman has a strange gleam in her eye. Her husband seems to be the main source of the crazy in the family. I'm truly sorry for the children. If I had to go through the same, I doubt I would have been able to recover.

That’s how my mom was. She was the sweetest kindest person that would take in stray animals and give you the shirt off her back, but on the other hand she’d get into drugs, and abuse us. She had mental problems but the drugs exasperated her condition… and believed she could’ve been half decent maybe if she hadn’t gotten in with the wrong people… Don’t know if she knew what she was doing was wrong or if it was the drugs and past mental problems that skewed her reality… she is delusional saying she never done anything wrong, and act saintly though it was a double sided coin. I was taken at 3 to live with my grandma. And at the time at my moms house There was hardly any food, there was medicine and beer laid out for me to get into. I got into children’s Tylenol one time and drank the whole bottle and had to go to the hospital… I was never dressed for the seasons and would get locked out at 2 years old in the winter with nothing but a diaper on, and the only times I could get warm in the winter was to have a hot bath, and I can remember being slung up against the wall a few times by her and her boyfriend. Now, Me and my mother talk occasionally but I don’t like to cause she brings all that up over and over, how she did nothing wrong and hated my grandmother for taking me away. And how god had a plan for me and knew I was needed else where and now he has given me back to her 🙄… And I can’t stand to listen to her disrespect my grandma in that way… i have problems not showing my temper and voicing my opinions and I don’t want to hurt her feelings so I just avoid it all I can. I would’ve been sent to foster care if my grandma hadn’t took me in. Thank god I never had to experience that.

I lived in an abusive home. My stepdad called us brats and whores, all the while my mom making excuses for him. She said he loved us very much, but he had a funny way of showing it. It happens all the time, claiming love, yet doing the opposite. It's very confusing for the children.

Yes. And she didn't specifically say something directly bad about her mom. She knows she has to be kind or she gets punished. Even with the officers, she could be hurt again. Even her sisters would rather stay silent without knowing that they could be saved. No wonder when they never felt safe ever in your life.
