Hi all, As I was editing this video, I learned of the tragic passing of Marquette "Mick" Yarbrough, who I featured in the first segment of this video. He was shot and killed in his home earlier this month and Memphis Police are currently investigating. I would like to offer my sincerest condolences to his friends and family and would appreciate it if you donated to his family's GoFundMe. The money will go towards funeral costs, and any extra will help support the family during this difficult time. @@saadhasan2518 Late, but anyone can know HD combos. There's plenty of wack players who have incredible combo execution, but their fight IQ is in the single digits. That applies to any fighting game too.

Just cuz I got told about this.. yes that actually is me. I was being followed around that EVO since at the time I was winning a lot of tournaments, and I was being filmed for the EVO dvd. I actually almost quad perfected ricky in the tournament, I did my interview for it and everything.. and then they just didnt.. put the match in,or keep the whole interview. I told the story before on my channel. I basically was given the you know, ricky is more popular than you doenst make sense to keep it in the EVO dvd. But ya you can see I look pretty raged here, it was not long after I did my radiation etc, and my health was really bad at the time all my hair was comingout etc .

I guess you can't see everyone there, but there was a crowd and everyone was laughing and having a good time. Just like when I did that anime illuminati interview. It was just so people would laugh and have a good time.. the lame thing is, if you remember I was winning a lot of tournies back then while sick no less so I was being followed around a bit, and they even taped me when I beat ricky in that one match that was almost a quad perfect, and when I said sorry after I basically had my hand slapped away.. then I was interviewed for it etc etc.. and.. the match wasnt on the EVO dvd , nor the interview.. and I was basically just given you know youre not as popular as ricky, cant put you on it, doesnt make sense. Now that was lame

The first example of the two finalists not playing their best characters reminds me of this funny Smash Ultimate story from my high school's eSports class. So me and my brother were part of our school's Smash Ultimate team to complete against other schools, and at our first round robin tournament to determine our placements, my brother swept the floor with everyone there... until he got to me. At the time I knew how to beat him because I've been fighting the nitwit for years in Smash everyone else wasn't as familiar, and he knew I would be his toughest foe so he had this funny idea for us that I went along with. He told me that we should play with characters we don't main (I might be misremembering but I think we chose random). Yeah it was a very awkward fight from what I remember, but he beat me and went on to become one our school's top players while , or at least high ranking now while I remained pretty average since I'm not really overly competitive about Smash but I was pretty good regardless, at least I played for half year (because this took place around 2019) until I graduated in the summer of 2020. Nowadays he's way better than me because he takes the game seriously while I have always prefered to play more casually.

I’ve been playing fighting games for a long time even though not competitively so I just may be in the dark but personally Players aren’t performers! If you’re playing lame on stage I just know you’re trying to win and I hate when people say “it’s not exciting to the crowd”

And as someone who plays pretty defensive I can understand where they where coming from, if the crowd is going to boo me for what got me to the finals then why not do something a bit trolly.

Just my two cents: the SOCD from Gafro isn't specific to his, its common to any controller using a Brook board (pretty much any hitbox controller that isn't official). You can chose between two types of SOCD on the Brook Board. Otherwise, good to see you posting again 😁✌️

I remember Teen Titans Battle Blitz! It was free to play and came out when the cartoon show piloted in North America. When it launched, only Robin and Jinx were available and all the other characters were locked. When the next week came, and a new episode would air, two more characters would be unlocked in the game and that would happen sequentially for a total of 4-5 weeks where you could finally play as all 10 characters (the final characters being Beast Boy and Plasmus). In retrospect, it's probably the very first true 1 v 1 fighting game I ever played. Thanks Stumblebee for reminding me of that!

Good stuff as usual. Dumb question: Random select use at all is banned in tournament play? I thought the standard ruleset that you had to stick to the one character for the "match" or "game", and you were free to pick whoever for the next game / match. Thanks

Typically if you land on a banner character when you random select, they'll make you go back to character select and do it again. If you win, you'll need to stick with random.

10:19 Holy shit that game was real? It exists in some dark crevice in my mind but I don;t remember much of it. Hell it what got me into teen titans since I was wondering who the are these characters.
