the other thing is - when you play sports for years and then you suddenly/almost suddenly stop, then your body is used to needing and burning a lot of calories - when you stop burning them you get fat. It needs to be done slowly and given that R9 partied a lot even during his carrer, then I'd say that is the outcome. And alcohol adds to that a lot. (it kind of happened to me as well - I used to train volleyball, among other sports at the beggining since I waas like 11 till I was around 20. At University I stopped doing any kinds of sports and got fat kind of quickly)

One thing I notice that almost all these legends have - incredible finesse and a world-class first touch, whether it is R9, Zizou, Dinho, Pirlo or others. When you have those two things in your feet, you are indeed the embodiment of class.
