Fly weight, middle weight, heavyweight. These fighting weight classes determine the size and height. If size didn't matter they wouldn't use these guidelines to determine a champion. You'll never see Mike Tyson fight the king from the middle east. You can probably tell the king would just run after one punch from iron Mike Tyson. Size matter's.

"Butterbean" - Eric Esch - wasn't going to win that fight in the same way that basically *no* boxer was going to win that fight. Because until you've been there, it just doesn't make any sense that someone kicking you in the leg would be so damn effective. Before that match, Eric probably thought that leg-kicks were just for show, or to get points on the score-card. It's not an insult to Eric that he was defeated this way, as it was more of a style miss-match than a fighter miss-match.

"Why size doesn't matter" You're showing the rare cases where a smaller better fighter beats a larger worse fighter. Size doesn't *always* matter, but weight divisions exist for a reason.

Yeah, it matters A LOT. Just like showing times a less skilled fighter wins by a lucky punch and with a headline "Why skill doesn't matter" would be just as silly
@Nilruin
@Nilruin Жыл бұрын
I love all the people dismissing these videos as "well the larger fighter was just worse". It's like, no fucking duh, of course they were worse. That's the point of any fight, to see who's better or worse. How many pounds would you need on Mike Tyson in order to confidently say you'd beat him? How much taller than Anderson Silva would you need to be in order to eek out a victory? Don't discount skill by calling it rare. It takes a lot to handle an opponent much larger than you, no matter how slow or clumsy they are.
@mowgli6345

@@Nilruin We're not dismissing that. We're dismissing the premise that size doesn't matter. I'll say it again. Weight classes exist for a reason.
@jamessauls7533
@jamessauls7533 Жыл бұрын
@@Nilruin the point just flew past you. The entire point is that size does indeed matter and with everything you just said, you just reinforced the very point he was making. You have to be leagues above your opponent skill wise or cunning(luck even) to beat somebody who is much larger than you such as even 30-50 pounds. Mind you, that is going off actual size and not just someone being tall or fat although size differences create a gameplan of advantages and disadvantages. Mind you, I only watched half the vid and only seen people fighting within the same weight class. Just being shorter doesn't make it a size doesn't matter. Being short but still in the same weight class whether it be muscle or a stocky build can come with its own advantages such as closing in and throwing hooks where as a taller opponent would op for range and throwing punches outside the reach of the shorter guy. Butterbean was actually smaller than his opponent in size( just not weight, size being their actual size). I'm sorry but a 5'6-5'8 175 pound fighter most likely isn't winning against a 6 foot 220-250 pound fighter if they are of even remotely similar skill. That is why it is given great praise when a fighter moves up or down a weight class and is successful because they can be at a serious disadvantage outside their natural weight class. Bigger opponents generally give out far more power and can take far more, that is just going off a relative weight. A poor lightweight to middle weight has no chance in hell of beating a heavyweight even if you took their top fighter and put em up against the lowest ranked fighter. It's a illusion to comfort small people

In my opinion I don’t think size matters bc in the real world or In street fights it doesn’t matter who’s big or not if it’s a fight it’s a fight but in professional they have weight divisions so it can be fair fight but I believe that many ppl in middle weight can beat the heavy weights some be lackin technique but I feel like it’s possible

Kaoklai really should've been on this list, Mighty Mo vs Hong-Man Choi was on it when Kaoklai fought Mighty Mo with a 27kg weight difference and won, one of the weight differences you mentioned on this list was 30lb, so the weight difference in Kaoklai's match was over twice as much. Kaoklai also had the balls to fight Hong-man Choi despite being 27kg lighter than Mighty Mo, pretty sure it went the distance and he lost to decision on that one but god knows what the weight difference must've been. He also fought a giant from taekwondo whose name alludes me, I think he won that one. Point being though he was known for taking on giants and winning.

@Orthodox Conservative Islam It's possible, but unlikely. If mass and height make no difference, why are there weight categories in almost every modern, organised combat sport? Why do almost all professional MMA fighters and coaches focus on weight cuts, in order to be as massive as possible within their given weight category fir the fight? Mass and height is not everything, but it is definitely an advantage to be bigger than your opponent, as you have the potential of longer reach, more mass to add to your strikes, and more weight for energy absorption of your opponent's strikes as well as being heavier in grappling.

Size does matter! If the heavyweight is an amateur street fighter, and the lightweight is a pro who’s trained their whole life, then of course the lightweight wins. if you are looking to kill and not toy around with then size absolutely matters!!!! but if you are going to stand there and dance around all fancy like then maybe not.

These big guys lack skills. In the cage it would be enough to grab the small guy and brake his leg or back

Seeing Bob Sapp getting destroyed, always bring a smile to my face. Also, James Thompson. Imagine being that big and that bad at fighting 😂😂😂

Why big guys participate if they don't know how to fight? it's like looking someone with contempt. Let them get beaten as a kind of lesson so that they might not disrespect others again in days to come.
