The kid who ran over the mother and kid was already on felony probation for trying to poison a girl. Who knows who killed him, but they did society a favor.

Even a hardened criminal would frown upon trying to run over a random mother and baby going down the street. Dude was probably taken out by a jury of his own peers.

The kid who ran over the woman and her baby may have been in a gang and that's why he was shot dead after getting released. A lot of gangs don't mess around when it comes to harming women and children. No matter who did it he deserved it.

Those officers can wear 30 or more pounds (14 kilos) on their duty belt and with their bullet proof vest. Running in 95 degree (35 c) heat with 100% humidity with that much added weight can wear you down quickly. My brother was shot at on a routine traffic stop. By the grace of God he was not hit. Turns out it was a stolen car. It was later found abandoned with blood in it. No idea what happened to the guy but I appreciate those who help our officers.

I literally need to do yearly tests just working in finance called "continuous education". You look at some cops and a lot of them aren't even up to date on modern laws. Their training shouldn't just be in martial arts, but of course someone like Jocko would think so. That type of training is RARELY ever used.

I love the sentiment Daz. It shows you're a proper nice guy. I don't know about the female officer you saw but the ones in my township are more than capable. There have been people stupid to try to start something, they learned fast. To be fair in the first example it took four men to restrain that guy so a single male officer would have been in trouble.

When you find out how little time these criminals get, if the prosecutors even bother to prosecute, it would seriously stun you. Most of the time the prosecutors choose to refuse to prosecute regardless of evidence in order to squew the crime stats during certain administrations. In 2022, New Mexico refused to prosecute over 700 DUI cases, even ones with injuries and death, and in an interview the district attorney said see we have less cases of DUI.

These cops are our true heroes.

The practical problem with the first scenario with the female cop is she would have a problem with using a lot of techniques on a larger man , maybe if she trained in Gracie jujitsu , it might be affective but there are so many variables in a street fight

Training to fight is not what's needed.....training on the laws is what they need.

Cant speak for everyone, but in New Jersey all of us get trained 80 hours in Jiu Jitsu and pressure points as mandated by the Police Training Commission

The way that car came at the woman and baby looked purposely done. I mention this because years ago when I was driving at night and a car with two men chased me from one traffic stop too another flashing their high beams and screaming obscenities. I was scared to death. I did not know these men. At the second stop light I slightly wound my window down, it was a big scene, everyone was looking. I heard a voice say " it's not her, let's go" and they took off. Can you imagine if I was the girl they were looking for. That young dead man might have thought she was his ex. What ever the case this will only stop if a serious deterrent is put in place.

That hit and run on the lady and her baby happened in Venice, California (on the beach in Los Angeles) in 2021. I recognized that alley immediately when you ran the video. It's actually a long, long alley that doubles as a one way street that runs along the beach, running a few miles. Ironically, the name of the street is Speedway! That kid that hit them was under the influence of drugs; the car was a stolen car; the kid was on probation already for spiking a schoolmates' drink, resulting in that schoolmate being treated for poisoning, among other criminal adventures at a young age. His end was tragic. Fortunately, the mother and child's end was not.

It's not that I don't want women to be cops, but if you can't physically restrain someone to put cuffs on them you shouldn't be.

A lot of the police unions have successfully negotiated agreements that bar any type of annual physical assessment or physical combat requirements.

About 20 years ago, I saw a female off by herself on top of some guy on the ground. She looked tired, so I asked her if she needed help. She said no and help was in the way. I still stood by until they got there. Point of the story always ask before you engage. You my get in trouble from what I was told by the officers. If it seams that they have it under control, always ask first.

The first video bothers me. My BIL and nephew are both cops and I don't think that any officer should be alone they should always be with a partner. In this case I think as soon as he yelled at her she should have called for backup. Plus don't bring the fact that you're a woman into this. You chose to be a cop and so you are fully aware of the risks you're taking. In that moment she was not a woman she was simply a cop so throw gender into that. It just bugged me when she said "You don't do that to a woman!" No you don't do that to anyone.
