When Hail Gets Too Big To Drive!!!

While chasing storms in the far south of Texas we encountered a heavy hail core as it crossed the Mexico/USA border. The hail was large and heavy enough to force us to pull over and wait it out, the noise of the large hailstones hitting the vehicle was so loud we could hardly hear each other speak.

Does hail most often indicate that a tornado is near?

As far as I know hail and tornado formation are not linked, supercell storms that can produce tornadoes are very good hail producers so the hazards can happen together but are not influenced by each other. The vast majority of supercell storms do not produce tornadoes but will often produce hail of some size so you are much more likely to encounter hail than a tornado. 🙂

You guys sure take chances to get that footage! Just be careful and watch your backs, okay? Your lives are too valuable to risk to get that picture. Did the hail damage your vehicles? I know someone who was killed by hail - was in the park with his kids and got hit before he could get everyone back to the car safely. Hail is nothing to mess around with. Nasty and dangerous as you well know. LOVE these videos! Thank you for putting them on You Tube! :-)

We try to be as careful as we can, hail can be one of the more difficult hazards to avoid when storm chasing, sometimes your first warning is a cracked windshield. The hail in this video isn't actually very big for the most part, there was just a lot of it so it looked and sounded quite dramatic. That is really sad to hear about what happened to that guy! I have only ever heard of a few stories of hail killing people. I agree hail is no joke. Thanks for watching and for the comments.

I hear the weather there in America is very extreme and I can see that on this video I predict tornadoes in England they ain't as powerful as they are your country and I do the best weather forecasts in the world as well when it comes the forecast in the weather I'm always right about it. 😎🤠☀️🌡️🌎🌪️🌪️⛈️⛈️

America is certainly the place to go to witness extreme weather, the biggest thunderstorms on the planet happen on the Great Plains! 🙂

Did you know they get bad tornadoes in Bangladesh because of the cold air in from the Himalayas and the warm air coming up from Indian ocean. They get F5 F6 tornadoes there as well I was 301 miles per hour winds with tornadoes no joke. 😎🤠☀️⚡🌡️☀️🌈⛈️
