The key to getting this technique right is to keep it rapid, but light. No back and forth stroking either. Just one direction at a time. Want to learn how to incorporate this Gua Sha Fluff technique (which I sometimes call “strumming” because it’s like you’re strumming a guitar string)? Join me for my next Follow-Along: Gua Sha 3.0. Ready to evolve your Gua Sha practice? Let’s start getting into the bigger universe of Gua Sha beyond the Western born definition of it as a lymphatic drainage technique, starting with the Gua Sha Fluff. This is one of my favorite techniques that is more of a cross between Gua Sha and its sister technique called “Bo Jin.” I use this whenever I need to cut my Gua Sha time in half, but still want ALL the results of a longer sesh. I also love it for the way it volumes your tissues with Qi, taking muscles from a tense and compacted state to a free, spacious and flowing state. This makes the skin look glowing and even! And wherever Qi flows, blood follows so this is also working to increase that delicious blood flow we need to nourish our skin and make it vibrant.
