fun fact: the reason why every lightning strike has a different shape is that lighting takes the shortest way to finally hit an object. it does this by going through air with the least resistance. hence why big buildings and trees get hit by lightning, since they are closer to the source of the lighting and have very little resistance. it does this in literal milliseconds.

To make a Polymer go from an insulator to a conductor, it just needs to be heated to the point where it becomes a plasma, stripping off the Electrons from the Carbon Nuclei, leaving the Electrons free to flow & complete the electrical circuit. ~ ~ ~ Nope, there are a lot of Elements on the Periodic Table which aren't Carbon. A friend of mine that's "playing" with electricity once had an electric arc appear between his foot and the ground. It completely ignored thick plastic-foam crocs type slipper that was in it's way. Somehow he was totally fine, i don't know how. he is the electricity wizard, not me

Was he playing with a tesla coil? That gives me a good idea to wear some crocks or sandals and touch the outpout and watch the arcs go from my toes to the ground ⚡

Now to blow your mind, conductive metals can become insulators too (based upon the frequency used). This is how waveguides in radar systems are used as transmission lines.

Now do the demo where you heat up a rod of glass that’s in series with an incandescent bulb until it hits thermal runaway That’s an insulator becoming a conductor without a spontaneous breakdown, rather a temperature dependant function

Any insulator can become a conductor. Depends on how much power.
Is it the volts or amps that kill?
