Thanks for the advice. I've been doing a KZfaq channel for 2 to 3 years now. I do music on it, but I only have about 37 subscribers and am wanting to start my own patreon to earn money for a better and professional music software. So that my videos could be higher quality than they are right now, but I can wait until I hit around 1K subscribers before I get a patreon.

Thanks so much for this video! I was considering starting a patreon, but I may hold off a bit and grow my audience a bit more.

I was thinking about starting a Patreon page. I have over a 1,000 followers on twitter and was thinking if it was time to start one. I just don’t know what to offer. I do speed paintings on KZfaq and show WIPs to all my soc. media pages. Then when I’m finished I post them to all. I’d feel bad to change that and make it only for Patreons when it was once free.

I don't have 100 subs yet, but my watch time with my subscribers is steady. I want to start a tip jar or maybe a patreon, but I'm hesitant. I was headed to my first 100 and then it kind of stalled the last few days..Youre easy to listen to.

I believe the problem we (artists) have is we don’t see our art in an economic perspective, from my own experience I learn the way I must to see my art is as a product, that way of thinking changed my life instantly, I just published my first episode of my webcomic and launch all my social media at that same time and my patroon said well, in my preparation process I put big detail in my characters design and I see my comic as a product and my characters as well, why? Because let me make you one simple question, do you have a Batman T-shirt? That is a sample of what I call derivative products, then I put all together in one shoot as a campaign for my Kickstarter project, I had ZERO followers, I was nobody 👆🏻 just my first month after be uploading 3 more chapters of my webcomic and being a 100% active in my social media network I got over a thousand dollar and go from ZERO to over a hundred patrons, I managed to launch my first Kickstarter project just 2 months after started and set a goal of $5k, I got funded in one hour and at the end got $24k, I started a progressive retreat from social media and focused almost totally in my patreon, now after 6 months I am almost ready to launch my second Kickstarter, I am already making a humble living with my patreon, and all thank to my webcomic. Then I am not sure if being passive will help, I just went rampage and charge as a bull. I am already getting some earnings in derivatives as well, and my patreons are very committed and full supporting me at a point in webtoon app my comic is just at chapter 11 while in my patreon is already in chapter 56, I am even decreasing the time to upload new chapters on webtoon and after the Kickstarter project people only can see the first volume of the comic at patreon and will follow the same format for the volume 2. Then from my own perspective the key is quality of content, I combined a good story with impactful visuals at this point I have 4 versions the webtoon exclusive, tapas exclusive both of-13, Kickstarter exclusive rates R and patreon exclusive version rated M with no sensor ship, and isn’t because sexual content is about the impactful visuals, pg-13 no blood no strong language and story is softened while in patreon is cruder and more graphic with more deep plot. Summary I build up a successful patreon in just ONE month. Of course I prepared myself for it over a year before 👆🏻

How many subs should I have before I start a patreon?

Thank you Aaron. I am curious is there a downfall to starting it up before you have your audience? I was going to start it now vs later because I have 1 person asking on her own accord where and how she can send me reucurring payments to support my compassionate doings. I found that Pateron is the best option for that. I know I am going to set it up eventually anyways and wanted to set up now to use that feature. My plan is to refine and get more clear on my info and offerings as I go. Any other suggestions greatly appreciated!
