Thanks for the shout out Raoul, As to the bike, Bottecchia Emme 2, it was locked up at a Doctors surgery. There was an attempted theft. Because the lock was significant it couldn't be broken so the thief decided to vanderlise the bike instead by kicking it at the rear bike seat stays, breaking the seat stays and chain stay. I really liked the bike and it was a "cry moment" but now it is donated to Luescher Teknik for science 😆👍

Thank you for the update. Any cut-up will be interesting. But a Wilier would be very interesting. The brand becomes bigger and bigger. And they are really nice, but I don' know anything about the quality of the frames.👍🚴‍♀️🇳🇱

Your summary of where the industry was and is in regards to frame flaws and failures put the big truths in a nutshell. Well done.

I watch your videos mainly to listen to your sweet Australian accent. The engineering information is simply a bonus. So keep that content coming, even if it doesn't involve cut-ups. 🚴🏼😬

Thanks for the update Raoul. Sounds like good news overall, with an improvement in quality in the industry (especially as I'm thinking of replacing my bike at about the 10 year mark in a few years). Now, if you want to see a proper horror movie, I viewed a couple of posts on the Home bike mechanics FB page where people were doing their own carbon repairs. I shared your vid's about the awful BMC repair from a few years ago and left it at that.

I really want to see the complete cut up of the Dogma F8 you did previously… but it was only sections that you cut out as opposed to the whole side.

Just wondering if you have looked at any Merida ever? I'm fairly sure they are one of the most sold bikes in aus and have been making them for a long time. I can't find any merida videos on your channel and haven't seen one hanging on your wall yet.

Could you make an explanation-video about the new 3T production process (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/d6uAfZpp2JbPkZc.html)? The big bikechannels (gcn, bikerumor etc.) are going crazy about this "new high tech". Is it really better? What´s the difference to TIME-Frames (imho, they use filament winding too)? Could it improve the quality? Greetings from Germany to the antipodes.

You don’t get a new car because of a dent in the door because car standards have been more constant. I can get new wheels if needed on my car. I can’t for my bike. I’ve been waiting 7 months for some rim wheels from the lbs. I’m about to give up and go internet. But not willing to spend much on bike frame repair if I can’t get parts.

Well said Raoul regarding sustainability and the bike industry. It's a terrible offender in terms of "if you break it, bin it". This doesn't just extend to frames - try getting parts to, for example, repair a set of ergo shifters from certain brands. A lot of the gear in question is in the category of luxury goods prices - not that at a fundamental level, that should make a difference - but imagine having to bin a watch that cost a few thousand dollars because one of the components broke. It all needs a fundamental rethink.
