LOL, mics tend to not pick up the bass of his voice without him being closer than the rest. You'll notice it in a couple of their videos, Avi will be upfront, down low, near the microphone.

I am a bass and I can second this. Bass noise is difficult to pick up unless your bass is ungodly loud, or you have a knack for hearing bass noise.

I’m watching at the end of 2019 and I’m confused by the comments section. I have loved pentatonix since the sing off and Natalie Weiss since like 2015 and Ive always thought that this cover is so incredible! Natalie takes my breath away and pentatonix is doing a beautiful job like always, but all the top comments are telling people to stop the negativity but as I scrolled the comments I couldn’t find any. Does anyone know what people were being negative about aside from height? I wonder if they deleted comments

I am wondering the same thing. It appears that there were some negative comments toward Natalie that are either very far down and I can't find them or they were deleted because I can't find them. I was ready to find those comments and give them my 2 cents. I know it wouldn't have made a difference but it would have made me feel better...lol. Good thing I can't find them so I won't have to make any virtual KZfaq enemies...but I was ready. Lol.

Kirstie's voice is always the one most audible. It always stands out the most in a crowd, as does her personality and height *snickers* She is the most beautiful girl in the world (to me). She may or may not be affected by haters, if she is, she doesn't show it. She is my idol and rolemodel, and she can rock any hair style and color. You may or may not read this Kirstie, but you took off and soared. I wish you luck as the days past and as PTX (hopefully) hits the radio. Somebody That I Used To Know has in Texas, or so I've heard from a friend. Five times in an hour...wow.

I'm in love with all the phases PTX's gone through, from simple to more ellaborate videos. Also, in this one you can clearly see how their voices merge so uniquely while accepting dearly Natalie's beautiful voice; Avi is a boss in green, and Kev's beatboxing rapidly gives the room's energe scope mountain high. Kudos to PTX and all its Pentaholics.

Actually, I like that they can allow someone else to shine. They have a rare ability to collaborate in the richest sense. By that I mean they demonstrate that really great musicians love working together -- it brings out the best in each other. When they collaborate I see sides of them I haven't seen before. I hope this makes sense :)

It takes talent to get to the level of Pentatonix, let alone Whitney or Beyonce or whoever. You can't do it on sheer willpower alone, or even work. The talent MUST be there as well. Of course, talent is also nothing unless you work it to its full potential. Talent and work must come in a combination, or else nothing happens.

People, Avi is cool they all are, and for musical reference he is sitting by the mic if you hadn't noticed because his lower tones would be washed out if he was farther away from the mic. It's a sound technicality that he obviously knows because he is a bass vocalist......

with 1 mic out there on the floor the bass still comes through although competing with all the high voices. I think he is down on low B and it's still well audible. As a 5 people group they are amazing

XDXD, yeah. Just to say though, he is only sitting due to the positioning of the rest of the group and the microphone. The microphone would be too far away from him and wouldn't carry the bass through had he been standing. Unfortunately performing with only a single mic low down is fine for Kevin, Natalie, Mitch, Scott and Kirstie but Avi cannot be so far away.
