I remember my first instance of being called out on this. A women working in the same company as me. A female co-worker claimed I was paid more for doing the same job as her. Company did the right thing, and called in an independent company to assess the work and output we were doing, without knowing which side had asked for. They concluded: Although contractual hours were the same, I was doing 1/3rd more hours than she was. My total output was 50% higher than hers (12.78% higher productivity) I was being paid 25% more than she was. On this basis, they recommended that either part of my workload was transferred to her, or that the wage gap was increased. I was working longer hours, at a higher productivity rate, but not being paid a commensurate higher salary. I laughed for days. Well, years really... I'm still laughing.

I have a sister who is now currently in the US and she’s providing us by working odd jobs ( cleaning houses, babysitting, caretaker ) and I did not even heard about a complaint from her. She is working by the hour and if she can do that so can other women. The thing is that women are so focused on “privileged men”, that they are living in a “patriarchy”. My sister doesn’t even focus on that, she focuses on her family and putting food on our table. Not only does she have to focus on us but she has to focus on her own family. The thing is that if you just focus on your work, your productivity then you’ll be successful. Don’t compare.

If someone read their report without critical inquiry, they would think that there is this horrendous wage gap. But just a little pushback, and the whole thing falls apart. People just have to be discerning when they are analyzing anecdotes or data. From an employers standpoint, reliability is a huge factor as it relates to pay scale and promotions. The person that is there to answer questions, get the work done, know the job inside and out 40 to 50+ hours a week is far more valuable to a company than any part time employee being there one day and not the next. It takes loyalty, commitment and drive to make a company successful. Most owners I know put in 60 to 70 hours a week. When they get the right people in the right places - THEN they can scale back their own hours, knowing they have a reliable person to handle the work load. THAT will never be a part time employee.

She didn't know her arguments sucked, because she shamed anyone and everyone who dared question her.
@ketsukage68803 жыл бұрын
@legessi The dangers of echo chamber brainstorming, exhibit a. I've honestly seen this kind of deconstructing in high school. You know when the teacher catches the one kid who didnt pay attention and asks a simple question to what they taught for the last 15 min. And that kids response is something along the lines of "I didn't hear you" "it didn'take sense" knowing full well that was a giant excuse for not simply paying attention. This group of woman knowingly came with the idea that their curated data was a sound reason to provide more benefit/funds to woman or decrease benefits/funds from men. I honestly am baffled they thought this was enough to make any sound argument having gotten this far. You'd think this wasn't their first interaction with officials, but they handled it like they've never done this before.
