Mike Tyson is certainly one of the boxing's greatest fighters. His name is one of the most famous and recognizable in the world. Throughout his amazing career, Tyson has made remarkable achievements and set many records. But there were also many outrageous moments in Tyson's career which earned him the nickname "The baddest man on the planet".

It is true .I agree with you .Larry Holmes said after his fight with Tyson that it was the first time he felt a boxer wanted to kill him .I believe that because Holmes was disrespectful of M . Ali and Tyson promised he will kick Holmes ass

He was going through a lot of pain and anger.. I never knew he lost a son till he said it.. he had so much rage against everyone and everything. He also mentioned that he was bullied as a child. And his favorite bird was killed.. he wanted to prove that he wasn't anyone's victim. That gave birth to rage.so much rage. Thank God he has found inner peace and reconciled himself to his better side of him.. I will forever be a Tyson fan. he gave us the juice of boxing . HALL OF FAME Boxer... GOAT..

Completely senseless comment. Tyson in his prime purposefully ducked Lewis, Holyfield and Bowe when they were in their prime, so he could continue to milk people for money as some kind of strong brawler celebrity with no skill nor stamina while beating the crap out of 2nd tier boxers for several years. Had Bowe or Lewis matched up with this guy in the early 90's, not only would it be embarrassing for Tyson, but more importantly would kill off his marketing. It's amazing how so many dim minded people still cannot see this obvious fact!!

The amazing part is you can see how much faster and more calculated a fighter Botha was, but arrogance caused him to drop his defenses. He was dodging shots with excellent speed and gaining a lot of points which boosted his feel for the win and fight. He seemed to completely forget that the threat in front of him could blow all of that away within a second if he had the right opportunity. He didn't expect or foresee getting hit like that which he SHOULD have, especially lacking the guard he was. This has happened more than once with great fighters. Garcia and Davis is a great example of this happening even recently.

You can tell Mike has a good heart. People who keep birds have a gentle nature. When he”s in the ring he’s in the zone and hyped up. I think if Mike Tyson had the right people around him and went properly into training he could become the oldest world champion. He had a lot a drop stitches in life tapestry’s that why his boxing career went the wrong way. Mike Tyson will alway be a great fighter he’s up there with Sonny Liston and all the all time greats.

Had no idea, how this man disrespected the sport so much. Should’ve been banned completely forever after biting Holyfield’s ear. Only reason he came back, it’s cause he made the industry so much money. Truly an animal, and I don’t say that in a good way. Right now he’s just a drug addict and never has been and never will be an example for the youth. Truly not acceptable.

Yeah, that's because people like Mike Tyson have publicists whose entire job is to make him and his brand seem better. It's pretty common for many celebrities and public figures and it works extremely well especially today when there are hordes of wannabes who would give free publicity and coverage because they're trying to make social media content. If there's nobody else who's really interested or have the time to fact-check or counter the positive coverage then all of a sudden a raging bull seems like a benevolent wizened warrior when in fact he's still has a problematic personality. He bit off a dude's ear, fought dirty, threatened his wife, is a convicted rapist, and repeated punched a dude in the head on an airplane because he got annoyed. Does any of that sound positive?

Tyson’s childhood I would not wish on anyone but once Cus came into his life he was able to channel all the anger into his fighting. Everything changed after Cus died and Mike made the decision to leave those people that helped him get to the top and instead chose to go with Don King and married Robin Givens. His corner which king was completely useless and with all the crap going on in his life at the time he needed his original cornermen to help him through all that he was lost. What truly turned it around for him was the love of his wife God bless her for coming into his life she got him through it and onto the other side and he’s a much better man for it today. Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis were some of the toughest fights he had no doubt. Never knew the extent of the headbutts in the Holyfiled fight. Never good to bite, but Tyson was a beast and did as he pleased. There were some hard hitters though. Mike often looked like he killed some of his opponents. Shavers, Julian the Hawk Jackson. These 3 guys often looked like killing their opponents with their punching power. Tyson with his insane combos is hard to beat though.

@Ed Ducate If you read about his childhood it’s not that surprising. His dad was a loser and deserted their family when he was a baby. His mom raised all her kids alone and struggled to make ends meat. As a result, Mike used to commit a lot petty theft as a juvenile and got arrested dozens of times by the time he was a teenager. They lived in terrible neighborhoods and got evicted from apartments. He was also ridiculed and bullied for his lisp and his mom also died when he was 16, leaving him parentless. He had no positive influences on his life until he got into boxing. If I had that upbringing I’d probably have a lot of demons to fight through too. He probably just needed two loving parents and a role model.

i agree with everything you say, but here's one thing you non-black people fail to realize.. black men walk around with generational trauma (part of his rage) due to our descendants slavery, its passed on through a mental scope that you will never begin to understand.... as their is generational sin and trauma, there is also generational karma ... most reading this will have no idea the knowledge dropped. . .

It was the end of big boxing. We get flashes of it now, it shows what it can be. But the other sports rob boxing: why get paid millions to get hit when you can get paid millions not to?

Every man has been at this point in their lives we all made mistakes in our early lives I’m glad he got out of trouble in his early life and met gus he was a light to mike it took him many years to heal after the death of gus and the case that sent him to prison as well as his daughters death. He really changed his life for the greatest, someone who’s been from the lowest to the top to bottom and back again.
