I remember seeing Dosti film in my younger days and while leaving the theater I was shell shocked to see so many men and women with teary eyes after watching the movie as I thought I was the only one who cried. All this was due to the magical voice of Rafi saab

I think Mohammad Rafi was the main gem behind the golden era(1960-1980) of hindi cinema and success of those actors for whom he sang as those songs whether duet or solo still have the same effects even today.

Really very great.Jai ho the greatest Karamyogi and Shantidoot ever borne in any Yug.Rafisahab made many Poorers to the Richest .His divine voice had given and giviving a very healthy lives to many Crores. But this film industry is full of selfish humans as They ignored Rafisahab and many misbehaved with him.So the conclusion is this that the God only resides in his voice.

The main reason why the movie and the songs did so well was the singing of The greatest singer of all time Samrat Mohammed Rafi Sahab, his extraordinary intense emotional singing created the base for the movie to do so well even without having a single well known actor and although it had Sanjay Khan and even he was new and virtually unknown when the movie was launched.

फिल्म समीक्षा ठीक से नहीं कर पा रहे हैं। इस फिल्म में दो सुपर स्टार थे मो रफी , और मजरूह सुल्तानपुरी । दो सुपर स्टार हुए भविष्य के लक्ष्मीकांत,और प्यारेलाल । सबसे बड़ी बात और उपलब्धि ये रहा की देश और फिल्मी दुनिया को बड़जात्या जी जैसे महान और सुलझे हुए शख्स मिला

The original story of "Dosti" was written by Bengali writer Dr.Nihar Ranjan Gupta . Name was " Laloo Bhulu".

"Dosti " Proved to be a milestone in the history of cine-music. When all great music directors declined the offer, Laxikant Pyarelal accepted the challenge and worked magic on it for they were damn assured of success only on account of Rafi sahab. Majrooh Sultanpuri saab put heart and soul into the lyrics. I have no words for great Rafi saab. The rest is history. Millions of salutes to the whole unit for the making of this movie along with it's immortal music. Lots of thanks for the beautiful presentation.

The music of Dosti was offered to Roshan Lal Nagrath (Roshan) who was the music director of “ Arti”. He moved out due to its casting. The song “Chahunga mein tujhe saanj savere……..was originally to be sung by Lata Mangeshkar, but at the last minute, the producer changed his decision as he felt justice may not be done as it was to be sung in high pitch. Then the song “ Gudiya humse kab tak…. was introduced.

यह फिल्म अपने आप में जबरदस्त थी । पर इस की कहानी में हिरो - हिराॅईनका प्यार नहीं था , छोटे बजेट की पीक्चर थी । कम बजट की इस फिल्म में कम डिमांड वाले ( कम चार्जेस वाले ) लक्ष्मीकांत - प्यारेलाल जी को पसंद किया गया ।

बहुत सुन्दर रफ़ी सा की तारीफ़ आपने की लेकिन आपके शब्द कम पड़े हैं किसी को पूरे शब्द नहीं मिलते, मैं तो कहता हूं कि ईश्वर ही बसते हैं उनकी आवाज़ में।जैसे वेद ईश्वर का वर्णन नहीं कर पाए वैसे ही मोहम्मद रफ़ी साहब की भी तारीफ़ के लिए हर भाषा का शब्दकोश अपूर्ण है

गाना चलना या नहीं चलना ये पूरी तरह से संगीतकार के ऊपर निर्भर होता है। गायक तो तयार बनाई हुई धुन पर संगीतकार के अनुसार गाता है। अगर धुन अच्छी हो तो गाना हिट होता है। नही तो फिर फ्लॉप होता है। अगर किसी गायक के गाने से गाने हिट हो जाते तो फिर संगीतकार की जरूरत ही नहीं होती।
