I understood why it took Naruto so long to realize. The same happened to me but it was too late. I got the feeling of having a crush but love was something hard to understand. Until one day, I realized being "in love" made me feel like i wanted to care for someone like family, all my life. Since Naruto took awhile to understand what "Family" really meant for him, he finally got the concept of Love.

@@0ctave you are referring to the sixth movie right. That movie is not cannon, it put Naruto and Sakura in a limited Tsukuyomi way before the nations started preparing for war. Kishimoto(the creator of Naruto), stated that the last is cannon. The boruto anime gives a more detailed rehash of what happened in the movie. Because at first there wasn’t any plans to make a boruto anime
