Before anyone says it’s because Russ has been around for a long time and everyone starts to wind down with age, geno is about the same age, and has been in the league for one less year than Russell. Coming from a patriots fan it’s really cool to see him grinding and wanting just a chance for the last basically decade and he finally got his chance to show everyone he’s a great qb.

The Chargers let Geno go cause they had Herbert, I highly doubt they regret the decision. Edit: Not taking anything away from Smith and what he's done this year, he played great all season

the geno smith one against the chargers was kind of a reach lmao... he was a great back up to philip rivers and they parted ways amicably when they rebuilt the qb room. he didnt play a down
