As a black man, I cannot understand why the store owner could not just say that he is the owner. I am not sure I understand why the owner could not just prove that he was the owner. Maybe I am wrong but I see where this could have prevented

Yes - a bit strange behavior and lack of understanding that the police in good intention protects the community to which he also belongs. Or he is just a troublemaker - there is reason to induce racial tensions.

I love seeing that the cameras are doing their jobs and keeping everyone honest(those that are there, those that are watching), because before these cameras came into existence it was your/our word vs. theirs/The State(whatever State you're from)and they usually won! All in all, the bodycams did to the police, what DNA did for the medical field, it showed everyone the Truth that is Irrefutable!!!

The store owner is not the brightest bulb. As someone who did manage stores, I would be happy if the police came to check when they saw me working late at night. That means you're less likely to get robbed blind. The real danger begins when the police just write your business off as a waste of time.

A lot of this could have been prevented if the police had the right information and the people didn't have such horrible bad attitude. But must only want to sue all they see is money 💵. Sue is the first words out of their mouth. How to get $Money, $Money, $Money. I live in New York and as soon as something happens they twist the things around so they have grounds to sue. Am NOT saying that all the cases presented here are those types of cases but as a New Yorker I see that all the time. And the money comes out of us hard working families who hardly make enough to live. It's very upsetting. "Sorry I got carried away"

They weren’t doing it to be assholes, they just really wanted to be sure that they weren’t leaving the scene of an ongoing crime. Just imagine if all those folks had actually been thieves with a lookout and they managed to fool the cops. The police department would be absolutely CRUCIFIED for “not doing enough to ensure public safety! The cops LET a store get ransacked! They LET criminals get away even though it was the middle of the night and they didn’t know who the people were! The cops didn’t do their jobs! They let the city down and don’t deserve to be employed!” The officers would likely lose their jobs, the city would have to pay god knows how much in settlements, the city would react by being pissed about their tax dollars paying for cops neglecting to do a thorough job, etc etc etc. Cops asking people in a locked store in the middle of the night to identify themselves is NOT over the top or harassment. They can’t just take people’s word for it. Cause how many criminals tell cops the truth? Genuinely: would you rather the police in your town do more than expected or not do enough to protect the citizens of the town?

I can go WAY back to when I was 18. I was pulled over for "Loud Exhaust" I'm white and was sitting in the right lane at idle at a red light. The officer was 7 lane away driving about 70MPH in the opposite direction. He made a dramatic U-turn and came up behind me and lit me up before my red light turned green. I pulled into a gas station where he told me that he stopped me for loud exhaust. I laughed because I had very quiet exhaust and I even handed him the paperwork from the muffler shop showing that I had a complete new factory quiet exhaust installed a week before. Yeah, My car was impounded and I was taken to jail.... or a sub-station... I sat there for the night before being moved to the main jail. I spent a couple days in that jail before they told me I was arrested for driving on a suspended license.... that it had been suspended because I didn't have insurance and had already gotten a ticket for it a couple months earlier. Gone was the reason for the stop. I was released after a few days and it was 2 weeks before I finally received a letter in the mail telling me that my license was suspended. The letter explained that my license was suspended after getting the 2nd traffic ticket for not having insurance.... So to be clear... I was stopped for loud exhaust... not for a suspended license. My license was not suspended until AFTER that traffic stop... but my final charge was for driving on a suspended license. I spoke my mind in court and ended up with 30 days in jail. Fast forward 30 years... I've not had a single ticket. We were just hit by the usual suspect who not only DIDN'T have insurance or a valid license...he had a few felony warrants for his arrest. You guessed it... it was out and free the same day. Did my whyte privilege step in and save me? NOooooooooo My max coverage insurance just sent me a check for 3k.... about 7k short of repairing the car.
@fieryhotwarts
@fieryhotwarts Ай бұрын
So lemme get this straight….you got pulled over and got a ticket for not having insurance. You obviously either didn’t pay the ticket, didn’t go to court, or didn’t get insurance, because at some point they suspended your license. Later, while your license was apparently suspended, you got pulled over *again* for your “loud exhaust”. From across an 8-lane highway and by a cop “doing at least 70mph in the opposite direction” while you quietly sat idling at a red light….right? Upon reviewing your plates and license, the cop found that your license had been suspended (almost guaranteed) from the first ticket you apparently still hadn’t paid and the insurance you apparently still didn’t have. You hadn’t received the letter about the status of your license yet, so you weren’t aware of the suspension. Didn’t matter, tho. Sounds like you just forgot/ignored a prior ticket which fucked over your future-self when a cop pulled you over and discovered the forgetting/ignoring of the initial ticket. And if you got 30 extra days in lock up for “speaking your mind”, I wouldn’t be surprised if you “spoke your mind” to the officer that pulled you over the second time. Just cause you didn’t get the letter in the mail yet doesn’t mean your license wasn’t suspended. As soon as you didn’t go to court/pay the fine/settle with the DMV, your license was immediately suspended until your initial infraction/ticket was resolved. That’s what happens when you just straight up ignore a traffic ticket. You don’t just get sent to jail for a few days with no information, then *again* for 30 days for “speaking your mind” about the second traffic incident. I have a strong suspicion that you’re leaving out some very important details of these events to seem like you were “victimized” when in reality you just fucked yourself up by not paying, not fixing your license, and getting mouthy with the cops/judge lol 😅😅😅
@ericallen7200
@ericallen7200 Ай бұрын
Lemme help you out. At the time, Texas law was such, that if you had two no insurance tickets in the same year, they would suspend your license. I had ONE no insurance ticket by that time. They gave me my 2nd no insurance ticket that day.... Then I sat in jail (for a suspended license violation) but I later found out that My license was not suspended yet. Meaning they should have just written me a 2nd no insurance ticket and perhaps one for my really quiet loud exhaust. If you think that is crazy, and really want to hear a good corrupt system story, ask me about how the city of Stafford did me dirty on private property... along with 200 others in a Walmart parking lot.
@fieryhotwarts
@fieryhotwarts Ай бұрын
I’d actually love to hear that Walmart story. I have a couple stories of cops being dickheads to me and my best friend, but the only times I was TRULY negatively affected were for things that I was absolutely guilty of, so I couldn’t blame anyone but myself. I’ve been pulled over WITH an already suspended license (because of a ticket I absolutely knew about but had not yet paid/resolved) and was allowed to drive back home. I took care of it all the next day with the court, then went to the DMV and officially reinstated my license. The thing is that even if you only get ONE ticket for no insurance or running a red light or equipment malfunction or WHATEVER, if you don’t PAY that ticket/go to court/get proof of fixing the issue and possibly have the ticket dismissed, your license WILL be suspended for any of those reasons UNTIL it is officially fixed. That’s the only reason I say that even if the claim that your exhaust was “too loud” was bullshit, if you hadn’t resolved your previous infractions then it was bound to happen. At that point, you WOULD be receiving your 2nd “no insurance” infraction, and your license would be immediately suspended if it wasn’t already, which I’m pretty certain that it was at that point. So I guess to truly clarify things here: did you pay the fine/go to court/deal with the DMV after receiving the first ticket? Because if you DIDNT, then it’s your fault. If you DID, then it may be another story. It’s not even because of the cop at that point, it’s literally just computer algorithms and functions. If ‘X’ fine is not paid by ‘Y’ time, then your license is automatically affected because the local government computers are set up to perform those actions. Edit: I also really wanna know more about you “speaking your mind” that led to 30 days if you’re willing to discuss it lol

The second one is mind blowing as people are openly working in a fully lit store, which means nothing is going on, but try and tell that to the racist officer. That last one was excellent. how he stood up for himself. Police are not that clever. I once was surrounded by officers, and police cars pulling up everywhere. The leading officer said that they were looking for someone fitting my description, and I was that person. I asked the officer for a picture, and he brought one out of his pocket. Then I asked him if the man looked like me. He said no! There was no chance I looked like the person in the photograph. It may not seem fair, however. . . . If I had absolutely nothing to hide, I’d hand my ID over when asked just to make my own life easier and get things dealt with faster so I could get on with my day. I’m in the UK though, it’s not a legal requirement to carry ID or your driving licence here. So not common to be pulled and asked to produce it. I’ve been pulled over and breathalysed twice (Christmas campaigns when they were on the street stopping most of the cars) I hadn’t been drinking. I wasn’t asked to show anything. They probably ran my plate. So I know it’s different in the USA. Maybe because more people don’t own the cars they’re driving in the USA. With more people getting others to take out credit for their cars if they don’t qualify than In the Uk, so a higher chance that the driver may not be the registered owner of the car they are driving. I may be wrong. Police asking to see ID is much more common place in the USA than the UK. Why don’t people just show their ID for ease. I’m sure Americans have their reasons why they don’t want to show it - even if they have it and have nothing to hide. I’m just not sure why they just don’t show it so they can be on their way with less time and no fuss

So many of these types of situations if people were just nice and speak the truth these confrontations wouldn't happen. So if the business was being looted and the police checked and one of the thieves said stupid stuff to the cops should they just say okay have a nice day. He should be appreciative that police are ensuring the business isn't getting robbed! So this one is stupid! He's being a jerk.

I've seen several where because of the cops actions someone died and the family sues and alot of times the cops resign or get fired but NO CRIMINAL CHARGES. Not everything is racist man. This happens to everyone sometimes. Cops DO have to conduct investigation usually a small amount of cooperation and they have to leave you alone. You'll notice they left the second the neighbors confirmed the guy was the store owner

Fuckin seriously man, I’m only 25 minutes into this video and I’m already amazed at the “racism” and “profiling” that hasn’t happened AT ALL. So far all I see is admittedly innocent, but EXTREMELY non-cooperative people in scenarios that would be very questionable 99% of the time. And those same people would be posted in this channel’s other videos under the title of “when trying to play the victim goes wrong” or “criminals that claim to know the law” or something like that.

I came here to say this. The officer at the store was being EXTREMELY patient. Even the channel is trying to pretend like its all race based. Do the owners really think that if three white guys were in a store at 1am it wouldn't look like a break in?

Did the officer do that to the other businesses? Should officers do that to home owners because they see someone walking to their front door at midnight you gotta provide proof of residence. One should respect their own rights and not get bullied by a cop who just looks at you funny. Again he did not state the suspicion or threat to detain. Therefore the cop had nothing to arrest.

I had to stop halfway through. I feel really bad for cops these days. It's not just the general public attacking the cops for doing their jobs but the department doesn't have their back. If any of the suspects were white, and they went through the same drama, there wouldn't be a video. Showing your ID doesn't admit guilt, it's a name for a report and a proof of identity. There is no need to escalate it to prove a point. Most of the time it would be over with an ID faster than a KZfaq short.

Altho I agree the first situation escalated quickly and for the most part unnecessarily, I truly don’t understand what happened to warrant the people being paid $8.25 *million* dollars (of taxpayer’s money, of course) The narrator uses the words “racial profiling” and all that, but the officer(s) never ONCE mention race or black people or anything. Did he word his responses in the best way? No. Did he say or do anything “racist”? Also no. He saw a rental car with out-of-state tags and 3 people just sitting in it in a parking lot that had had a string of recent break-ins. She refused to identify, demanded a supervisor, then her daughters started trying to leave the car/scene while she argued. Even put the keys in the ignition and turned the car on! I mean, how many of these videos (on THIS CHANNEL, no less!) have we seen where the person/people in question are legitimately criminals, but behave in the *exact* same manner as this woman and her daughters? The cops are generally supported in their actions by commenters! “I don’t have to give you my ID! I’m not leaving, I’m just going inside to use the bathroom! I’m not going to run, I’m just turning my car on to roll the windows down!” So what happened that caused a judge to decide that an $8.25mil settlement was the correct course of action??? And which is it, KZfaq commenters? Do you support the cops finding the bad guys by being thorough and detaining and searching persons in question/under suspicion or not?? If the cops had used ANY racial commentary then I could understand discrimination, profiling, etc. But as far as I can tell, they did not.

This paragraph presented in the video looks like a high schooler with a thesaurus trying to sound profound and intelligent while misusing words, repeating themselves, and incorrectly identifying subjects of the story: “Falsely suspected of auto thefts they had no part in, they faced unjust scrutiny from authorities. Entangled in the unfounded suspicion of auto thefts with which they had no association, the officers found themselves unjustly ensnared in a labyrinth of accusations, grappling with the weight of unwarranted scrutiny. In their hour of need, they instinctively sought the comforting embrace of their mothers, turning to them for solace and guidance, drawing strength from the enduring bond of love amidst the tempest of adversity, a poignant testament to the unyielding support that transcends professional turmoil.” JESUS, AI NARRATOR BOT. Make it sound like MLK’s “I have a dream” speech, the most intense climax of a Michael Bay movie, and the biggest tugging of heart strings in a fuckin Hemingway novel all rolled into one.

If their is suspicious reason NAME the suspicion. McDonalds is open 24/7 you aren't gonna randomly threaten to arrest based on ID. Not answering a question doesn't lead to an arrest if their is nothing to be suscious of. The officer said "I have a problem with you three being in a store" Why did the officers not arrest? Because there was no crime and NO ONE is bullied to ID because they don't "LOOK" like owners. The problem I have with that clip is did that Same officer ID everyone else's shop and demand what time they close? Just because a business has lights on doesn't mean they are open. You obviously don't work or own a business. A business does not immediately put an OPEN sign as soon as they arrive to work. They are cleaning, stocking, organizing the places. The officer doesn't know the personal business hours of every private owner. You don't get to demand one if it's not the same for all.
