Lol my late husband hated when I changed the house around. He finally got some software that he could measure everything type it in and then move it around till I was happy. It helped so much and we were both happy.

Your whole purpose from the beginning was to make sure everyone had a place at the table, you achieved it nicely! The table and chairs in front of the fireplace looks cozy, a perfect spot for game night! Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall! Or just to simply sit around and chat. I like it.

I think your decision to pair down a bit with youtube and the pressure to always be releasing a new video just shows what a genuine article you are. You don't just make videos about homemaking to look good....you walk the walk by putting your homemaking first. I just hope you never go away entirely. There is no one like you and I love you so much and I have gained so much from what you have shared with us. But I completely recognize the sacrifice you make in giving us what you do.

I am new here . Your quiet feminine demeanor has made me subscribe today. You are a picture of grace and love . It literally jumped off the screen for me. The changes are perfection. the buffet in front the window and the hutch is more balanced on the wall , which is so pleasing to the eye. But my favorite are the 4 chairs in front of the fireplace. My imagination already sees a Christmas tree in front the window to the left of the fireplace,,,,, a cup of cocoa on the round table, a cozy fire.... a good book and a warm throw over my legs ! I mean your legs... haha . I got carried away.. sorry.

Unfortunately I can’t do that. my home is small, i’m just trying to get rid of things to make it look bigger. It will look better in Spring once i move the firewood outside the house. I am thankful with God for providing a home for my husband and myself. your house is very beautiful.

Bonjour Nikki, your new arrangement is wonderful! For all the reasons you explained (more open space in the living and dining areas), and also because the family room now looks much more like your family can spend time there relaxing and watching a movie together, whereas before with only two armchairs in it, it was beautiful but seemed arranged for a couple without children, unless chairs where brought in for them. The sofa has found its perfect place for the warm season, and the white chest of drawers is perfect in front of the window next to the fireplace 🙂

Bonjour! Thank you! Yes, we always brought more chairs in if we had a family movie night, everything glides across the floor smoothly thankfully. The funny thing is we aren't often watching things together. More often than not, it's just 2 at a time but the sofa feels much better in there.

Good evening Nikki. Today l spent the day redecorating my home using only what l already had.. I live in a small countryside town in Pennsylvania but l always loved coastal decor. When my husband and l built our house 4 years ago l wanted to decorate in a coastal cottage decor. I reviewed many gifts from friends that just weren't right. It all looked very "beachy". I felt obligated to use it all and was never really happy with my house. I collected all of it today and put it on my dining table and started choosing what l loved. When l was done l noticed that the pieces l chose were all natural wood "coastal" pieces. I was able to incorporate it with my country decor and l love it. Thank you for inspiring me to edit what l have and enjoy only what l love. God bless. 💙🙏💙

Nikki you have such a beautiful home! I’m 22 and my husband and I moved into our first home less than a year ago. The previous owners left a ton of furniture for us like couches, tables and chairs etc. While some pieces are things I would not pick out myself, it has been a huge lifesaver not having to purchase everything brand new. I realize now how long it takes to acquire pieces that reflect my own taste! I look at women like you or my mother who have beautifully, thoughtfully decorated homes, and I have to remind myself that it takes years and years to curate a home like that! Thanks for sharing your home so someone like me can be inspired by it!

I love the idea of a gallery of botanicals on the wall behind the chairs. I recently purchased a couple of new botanicals from a lovely lady in Israel who after surviving Auschwitz in the 40's and having authored a book as well as had one written about her, now lives in Israel and paints the wildflowers that she sees there. They even arrived having been addressed with her own hand. They are not only lovely, but they also remind me that His hand is always over us when we submit to Him.

I can totally relate to you about moving the furniture around…..I have been known to do that, and at times it gets on my husband’s nerves….but I always say, that our home is like a marriage……we must constantly do to it, whatever it takes, to fall in love with it, over and over again…..my home is my refuge and my comfort…..I’m constantly looking for ways for it to function at its best, at whatever season in life I’m at…..great job rearranging your furniture….love how it looks and how it’s going to function for your needs at this point…..❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

the couch is nice for your husband to play games on because he can sit relax and not flip the chair back n knock anything over 🤣😂🤣 that husband of the house video was my favorite. kept me laughing n saying aaawww over n over. the aaawww moments was how often he refered to u n want to love u by doing tiny VERY courtious things like....hiding his electronics n cords, picking up random clutter, showering in the shower room, keeping your home a marriage focused home not a child focused home...it encouraged me because i need prayers. i admit i often have a child centered home ...a wise pastor told my husband n i the best GIFT we can give our child is "US STRONG in our Marriage 🥰🥰"

Nikki i love the 4 chairs around the table in front of the fireplace. It feels so open! Interesting enough I am forever moving furniture and changing things. I live alone with my dog and 3 cats and still can spend a large part of each day homemaking. I love having a pleasant home. My thoughts are this is really not my home..it belongs to the Lord and I use it as such… Bible Studies, Women’s meetings, lunch with friends and big family dinners. Anyone anytime. All are welcome. You remind me of myself at a certain stage of life. I loved moving furniture around approximately every 6 months. I love the way you arranged the rooms. They're more open and you danced around your home. My favorite spot is my bedroom with the sun and birds singing. Next, is my kitchen looking out onto my backyard. Wish you joy everyday!

Wonderful Video Nikki. Thank you for sharing the verse that your father gave you, I cannot recall reading that one, but it is fantastic and so timely for me to hear. I think it’s interesting that you have reassessed your direction and are making changes that might be opposed to what society says we should want. Often less is more. Well done for listening for that still small voice, I’m sure your whole family will benefit 💗 I also love moving furniture around! My husband just rolls his eyes these days, he knows occasionally he’ll leave for work and come home to a completely different layout but he doesn’t grumble about it; I think he accepts that if it doesn’t feel better to us all I’ll rapidly realise that and improve it or even change it back. Personally I love what you did here, your home is always so inviting and just when I think there’s nothing left for you to do you make it even more lovely! I’ve always thought you somehow manage to pull off cosy AND elegant which is much harder than it looks. Thank you as always for sharing 🤗

Thank you! Yes, I have shared as I acquired each piece. The table and hutch I inherited from my Grammy, the sky blue wingback chairs were from Overstock, just about everything else was purchased 2nd hand through antique shops, yard sales, Craigslist or FB marketplace or offerup.

I love your home. I change my furniture arrangement often too. It does give a fresh feeling. I know you mentioned that you get tired of art pieces so you prefer mirrors. Would you ever consider a beautifully detailed crown molding to frame the walls? That may give you the finished looked your going for

Hi Nikki, I love to rearrange a room also. Since we downsized our home when we moved I don't have as many options but I still love to change things up a bit. Your blue chairs are so pretty and I don't think I ever noticed them much until you did this arrangement. I love the idea of a family playing games there or having a few ladies over for tea/lunch. Wow! What a burst of inspiration! Your new arrangement is fantastic in so many ways! Each space looks so inviting: the chairs gathered around the table in front of the fire, the cozy and elegant couch as an inviting focal point in the family room, and the spaciousness of the dining room with the anchoring and grand centerpiece of the hutch. Even though there are different seating areas, moving the sideboard really helped to unify the space. So lovely and functional!

Lovely Nikki!! It's so nice to make our homes a living space for family and friends, not a show case to impress. The re-arranging you did is just that, perfect! The energy and traffic pattern/flow is lovely and so do-able. My fave spot is the gathering table with chairs in a circle, then the couch as a focal point in that now living room. Ohhhhh nikki! I love it soooo much better! I love your idea of adding a botanical gallery wall as well. I know that in one of your other videos you mentioned the thought of painting your hutch and table but decided to keep it as is for sentimental reasons. I think that with your new arrangement it would look fabulous painted, yet totally understand the sentimental side, I too have pieces that I just can't alter. Thank you for being the inspiration that you are.

I’m catching up on some of your videos after having my baby a couple of days ago. I’m enjoying snuggling him in the hospital while watching! I like hearing your thought process also. I love your houseplants! I always buy the golden pathos because I can keep them alive. Do you have any recommendations for others that are similarly “foolproof”?
