I had a very similar experience. One time, I got home from surgery & & spent time in physical rehab to walk again. My daughter, who is a nurse practitioner called social services to have me placed into a long-term facility. She was saying I couldn't take care of myself & had dementia. I was shocked & hurt but stayed calm & rational. Fortunately, the social worker saw what was going on. I still, however, had to take a cognitive test. Since then, she has called police on me 27 times, tried to have me jailed, stole from me, tried to take over my finances & take my home, always stating I had dementia & was volatile. Thank God the police saw the bruises I had on me, the punched in walls & I showed them the number of times I went to the ER due to her abuse. She was finally put in jail & found to have severe mental problems. This all breaks my heart & I don't know if I'll ever see her again. I kept thinking she would change .

@dakotaharnish5515 NO, not really. Every so many months, I just can't function. I just seem to manage getting thru each day by crying and will go without sleeping or eating for days at a time. I keep asking myself where I went wrong & can't turn off my mind on a great many issues. I often think I'll never see her again. She's the eldest & it took me years before I could even get pregnant. I do have a younger daughter who's a teacher & works 2 full-time jobs. The two are worlds apart. She's thoughtful, giving, kind, a super great mom to both my grandson & grandaughter. She went to live with her because her mom was abusing her constantly. Thank you for asking. I keep alot locked inside.

@@nansnook3920 Sometimes its just not your fault. Sometimes you try to care so much but in the end you feel like it was all in vain. I'd suggest that thinking about it over and over again does not help. I would try to speak to either her or a therapist. You are prioritizing this topic so much that it costs you sleep and appetite, and that is beyond unhealthy. Please try to reach out to your daughter, i dont think anyone wants to not be in touch with their own daughter. Try to speak with her in a calm and rational environment and try to talk to her unaccusingly and without judging her (which seems hard, i know, but she's your daughter. i think you still love her and its important to be respectful about other people's decisions and thoughts) Your story really hit me hard, would'nt ever want my mom to feel like this. I dont know her age, but if she has any relationships/close friends, try reaching out to them if she does not want to talk. Try to convince her that you only have one life and it's a really good decision to be in touch with the people that raised her, because if she doesn't, she will regret it for the rest of her life one day. Either way, if contact with her is impossible, still try to talk to a therapist or someone you deeply trust. Talking often fixes built-up thoughts and helps releasing some pressure, pressure mostly being crying in situations like this. You're a great mom and i hope everything turns out well!!

Actually you should never assume bc they can talk they are getting oxygen-a mistake made famously by police a few years ago. People may be moving air in and out but still not be getting oxygen to their heart and brain and will feel as if they can’t breathe. This can be from medical causes (for instance clots to the lung or fluid in the lungs) or drug overdose, poisoning, etc. their brain will interpret that as “can’t breathe”

I’m an 18 year old who grew up in pretty upper-middle class. Seeing people act like this makes me very thankful for the life I’ve been given. I try very hard to not draw much prestige or ego from my upbringing, I’m just aware I grew up differently than other people but that doesn’t make me any better, knowing that so many people in my place take how lucky of a scenario they are in with their parents’ hard work and absolutely abuse it. My parents taught me selflessness, thankfulness, managing money correctly, budgeting, and even helped me significantly in mental health conflicts. It always amazes me how far-gone teens can get. I wish there was less ego in this world, honestly.

I totally agree with that comment, and I truly feel for you and your aunt! My uncle was the same, he started to get into trouble through dementia, he lost his balance and banged his head against the pavement on 2 occasions, and we eventually had to put him in to a care home, believe me we tried to help him, but his dementia would make him lose his memory of where he was, and when he was! To explain, he would think his local pub was just up the road, as it was in his old house, the place he lived for 3 decades with his wife who had passed away. We would find him try to get on a bus, thinking he was still in London 🤦🏻‍♂️, it was a terrible way to find out how dementia worked, and he wasn’t diagnosed for about a year before our family realised. I do still feel bad about that, and wish I wasn’t ignorant of the signs. Anyway, as cathartic as that is to write ( not much, but it doesn’t hurt huh? ) I want to say that if “ Alexandria “ from the video is reading this, ( doubtful I know ) grow up you wee idiot, and have some respect for your dad. And Alexandria’s dad, well done for finally saying enough is enough to your daughter, and don’t feel bad, goodness knows I’ve made my mistakes with my son, rest in peace Sean, you were, and always will be loved!!!

It's easy to blame the kids and feel sorry for the parents. But I feel like everyone here forgets that it was the parents' job to teach their kids how to behave and manage their emotions and frustrations in their life. Now, when the kids become adults and behave according to how they learned they should behave, the parents can just call the cops or just straight up blame it on their kids just so they can make it someone else's problem and avoid responsibility. For example, can't you see that the first girl is handling the sitiuation just like her father? Through releasing herself from the responsibility and instead attaching it onto someone else? It's sad that people so easily look at the symptom and determine it as the source of the problem instead of asking why did it rise in the first place... Btw, I'm not saying she doesn't have a part in this as well as she's an adult and has a choice, but it's much more difficult to develope such important coping skills when you don't have a foundation for them when you are starting life and learn how to deal with the challenges that come with it.

I hope that first girl was under the influence of something, no one should be that stupid, right???? "On a leo? On an August birthday?". "Stop policing me". "I'm being held against my will" - While refusing to move from someone else's car with the door WIDE open. "You're hurting my shoulders, and my shoulder blades, and my back, which is where all my organs are by the way, so thank you!" Are you f*cking serious??? I'm baffled🤣

Anyone can spoil a kid, but not everyone manages to realize the damage they've done. Fewer still try to correct it and even _less_ realize in _time_ to correct it. I ain't gonna judge a father who's trying to do the right thing, even if it is late. Parenting's hard.

The first case is laughable. The father acts like: “Oopsie, I can't talk to my own kid about problems she's causing because I had raised her poorly. Well, too bad, I'll just call the police in the most random moment possible, I'll let them deal with her instead”. Most of the people nowadays shouldn't procreate, seriously. Also, she didn't even break the law, and the police literally dragged her to the car as if she was a criminal only because her daddy had called them on the phone. I guess the US is a police country pretty much similar to Russia if they're so cool with arresting the citizens so unexpectedly. Solving silly family conflicts of the “she-won't-leave-my-car” sort shouldn't belong to their duties. I wonder if they actually meant to help them in the long run or just continue their systemic oppression.
