the thing is, you gotta know how to fight, otherwise you just end up like the "roadmen". most people that know how to fight dont look for a fight, my teacher always taught me that, never look for a fight even if you think you can win because bullets always will win". you might now how to fight but a guy with a gun can easily beat you.

@mystletainn3723 I've trained martial arts since I was 13 in 1980 and was never looking for a fight. But at one point, I had to face the fears of my childhood and started working as a bouncer. It was an experience I wouldn't wanna miss and years later, I read "Watch My Back" by British bouncer Geoff Thompson. A read you shouldn't miss.

The funniest bit about that scene is that the knife-fighting bits are completely accurate, complete with how the knife is turned against the (incompetent) wielder. There's a YT video from a knife-fighting army trainer somewhere, where he basically goes through everything they got right.

I like that scene because it's surprisingly accurate. I'm always seeing yanks beating their chests about how they beat the British as if it was a solo endeavour. They _always_ miss the fact that it literally required the combined efforts of every other major player at the time to beat the British. I think that says a lot more about the might of Britain than it does about America in my opinion. It's widely agreed upon by historians that had American truly fought Britain one-on-one they would have been steamrolled. Those same yanks will also make fun of the French relentlessly as if they aren't one of the nations they should be thanking for their independence. And they wonder why every other country in the world despises them so much.

Good one this time. I will say the speech from the lad in the bar was funny about the war. Sure Americans had some Spanish (Hardley), they also had french but not until pretty much the end of it. See he's right but what they don't have him say is that most of the American's were farmers and blacksmiths, and bar owners and what not. The British were all soldiers. Trained, ready to fight, soldiers.

I've put myself in such situations when working as a bouncer. Took me a couple of years to learn to read the signs when shit kicks off. And shit did kick off a lot because people on drugs and alcohol literally believe they are invulnerable.
