Imagine if the guy argued that he gave them real cash all along and said the hustlers have swapped it. As Alex left the premises it could be seen as a possibility. As soon as Alex relised it was fake money he should have gave it right back to him and told him he could not accept it. Luckly the guy admitted that he knew it was fake. Also the hustlers don't tend to use fake notes they use some real notes with cut out bits of paper underneath the real notes. That's how they get aWay with it. The main reason they went back in as a team is because they were in trouble and needed that guy to admit that it was fake money as they couldn't give him real money back.

That last bit is reather stupid. They say they aren't allowed to use counterfeit cash, but in the scene before they used it on the petrol station woman. They report this poor chap to the police for hustling the hustlers, they got beat at their own game and they are bloody mad so they report this fellow to the police.

I thought they always revealed afterwards that it was a fake scam for a TV show and returned the money. When the woman tried to pass off counterfeit money and they come in to save her, I thought they were coming in to reveal the truth and return the cashier's money. Instead they continued the scam. What am I missing? Why weren't they arrested when this show aired?
