I had a 3060 and it did really well with ray tracing but I upgraded to a 4070 wich made a huge difference still wish it was a 4070 super though

my 3060 does ray tracing fine at 1080p, yes with dlss magic but it werks

If you are going to buy a High end gpu , like 4080 or higher you should definetely wait to the 50 series launch. And for the CPU if you are not going to buy a 9000 series cpu dont wait.

@@mgguner I have about £650, was looking at the 4070 super or possibly a second hand refurbished 3080 ti for £560. I have had a look at some AMD cards too just not sure 🤦🏼‍♂️😂

@@Billy-Allen 7900xt vs 4070 super whichever cheaper just take. 7800xt cheaper than 4070 super but worse ray tracing and features if thats up your alley. Tldr my choices 1. 7900xt 2. 4070 super 3. 3080 ti 4. 7800xt Choose based on price, vram and features

to be fair... "playable" doesn't necessarily mean "ideal" Once you're spoiled with 100+ fps, you'll never wanna be below it

As someone who owned a 3090 since it launched, I've never used ray tracing. The visual upgrade vs performance cost is not worth it and I would rather higher and smoother fps

As long as after enabling RT you are still getting 60+ FPS consistently, I don't think it's an issue. But that happens at the higher mid range GPUs. Someone said it right , RT ain't shit at the budget-midrange segment.

I have a rtx 3060 ti gddr6x and it it's very nice to use rt with. If I follow your logic you need a RX 7900 gre to use rt which is ridiculus unless you want 1080p 144+fps or 4k 60 fps. Stop spreading bullshits plz.
