True if your reason is passion alone. Honestly, due to the planned obsolescence makes what you said difficult if not impossible. Fact is that you should probably maintain it until it serves your purpose and sell if maintaining it becomes difficult and stops being cost effective. Sad reality is that no matter how much we want to keep our machines, sometimes it just becomes impossible. I for one would rather not leave my machine parked for lack of parts and usability.

Moving on is required for one of the reasons you mentioned, but to let go your current bike for next one is also bit emotional too. Now that 60k km you did on your Multi is not just km but journey that took you places , gave you memories, friends, the joy you got by taking care/maintenence is also another aspect of moving on. I remember a funny incident when I was selling my Xpulse, got bit emotional while handing over the keys that buyer said "sir apka hi bike hai, take it for a ride whenever you want "😄

I couldn’t agree more. It’s the heart that speaks to you. I clocked 22k km on 310GS in two years. When I moved aside to the 1250, people asked why I didn’t sell the 310.. the answer was the same. The romantic side won over the pragmatic side so much that I have realised I will never sell the 310. If it stops working decades later, I’ll pack it up and put it in my bedroom. Like Shumi said, “Heart over Heads!”

I have a Yamaha scooter for 11 years now, I got INT 650 and now I’m reluctant to sell my scooter. I barely have used it. I haven’t found an answer yet, but ethically I should give it off to the right person if he/she comes knocking.

One advice for fast learners, if you're buying a motorcycle for the first time, pick one with capabilities that are just at the edge of your comfort zone, maybe even a little bit outside your comfort zone. Don't underestimate your own skills and capacity to learn. Start slow and grow into your motorcycle gradually, you won't grow bored if the bike has more to offer you, just waiting to be unlocked by your skills.

There used to an old saying that parents buy their children's school uniform a size larger so as to accommodate the fast growing child, who may outrun the uniform size pretty soon. I believe the same analogy can be used on first timers too.

Heart over head, yes. I've been riding standard motorcycles all my life. Recently, I had the chance to ride an RR310 BTO, and I knew I wanted it. The owner complained about the vibes, and said that at my age, I should probably get an ADV. But I want to learn how to tuck down and ride like the wind. I'm getting the bike, even if it means that I have to work on my body to ride it to its limits. I don't have the space to park it, because I already have a duke and a hatchback. I'm thinking of parking the hatchback out in the open. That's how much I want it.

Shumi is like a motorcycle maharishi. Every word that spills out this man's mouth is pure wisdom.. and this is so true. Back in 2010, I bought a second hand CBZ extreme because my engg hostel didn't allow 1st year students to avoid ragging and paying for auto every day was expensive. But I didn't know how to ride.. I fell often and I realized I cannot learn on a CBZ.. So I replaced it with a Super Splendor..Learned to ride on it.. Upgraded to an FZS.. Learned how to corner on hairpins on it.. and one day in 2012 I saw this orange building with a new brand name called KTM.. Took a test ride of the 200 Duke and immediately fell in love.. Learned about motorcycle clubs and handling a powerful jumpy machine.. Had it for 10 years and recently upgraded to Ultraviolette F77 , learning now about the EV experience and AC motor's performance. Like Shumi said, If I had the means to have all this bikes in my garage I would.. but I have to move on once I have learned all I can from it.. but I'll always remember all of them fondly..

It's all about emotions.. I enjoyed RX100 from 1989 to 2011 . Then it was cbz xtream from 2008 to 2023 .Now I have pulsar 220f 2019 . But still RX100 and cbz xtream come in my dreams, I unable to forget these bikes

"Heart over Head" Thank you Shumi for the proverb. I can use it to tell here on when ppl ask why I still keep the 2008 R15 v1 and the 2010 Hero Honda Hunk. Coz whenever I ride them, they make me feel delighted even though I own a RE Himi & Rc390. Every bike has its own way to provide a pleasant company. And if we connect to it we connect thats it.

i bought a used 1604v this jan , the dealer fooled me, it had many issues it still has it right now , but i have put sooo many emotions into it ,i learned to work on it , fought with mechanics when they said "It wont cause any issues use it as it is", i have fallen twice as my bike has no abs but it made me learn , she still has many issues , my parents told me to sell her for a loss and to buy a brand new bike but i said "I want a new bike but not without my apache in my garage and i understand that my bike is problematic but shes mine ", i'll buy a new bike on my own dime it may take a few years but will never sell my first love , never sell your first love , bikes never betray if you take care of them , you cant fix a person but you can fix a bike , and when you do fix a bike she loves you more than you love her ❤

my FZ-16 completed 10 years and I moved on due to pragmatic reasons. It's been 2 years now since that happened, but still everyday I think about it. I made a mistake! And, I am not doing that to my Polo. It will stay with me forever!

I have been riding for 53 years. I bought a Royal Enfield Classic 350 (2023) 2 weeks ago. The purchase was a symphony of head and heart. Truly, as my 13th motorcycle I can say hands down the Classic 350 just knocks my sox off!!!

Have ridden a Bajaj Boxer for 13 years and now in ownership of a Yamaha Saluto, I'm yet again contemplating my next ride, not because I am bored but because I want to evolve as a rider. I had a Yamaha FZ V2 (150cc) for about 6 years. Learnt all I know about motorcycling on that. It was my gateway to the world of motorcycling, in a way. Did not want to part ways with it when I moved to a higher displacement (RE Scram 411) but figured it would be better off on the road, than being parked and taken out for a spin once in a while. Sold it to a close friend recently and I really hope that I helps him make memories the way it once did to me. 🙂 I did regret it initially but seeing my friend now appreciating the joy of motorcycling on that bike, kinda feels amazing. It's funny how a machine can make you feel such amazing things! :)

Listening to Shumi talk about motorcycles stirs up strong emotions within me, and I can truly relate to his sentiments. My own journey with sport bikes began with the Classic Pulsar 180 from 2000, which remained my trusted companion for 11 years. Subsequently, I transitioned to the NS 200 in 2011, followed by the Duke 390 in 2017-an exceptional bike that I still possess to this day. In 2021, I welcomed the 790 Duke into my collection. The Duke series undoubtedly holds a special place in my heart, and while I haven't yet made up my mind, a decision will eventually come regarding whether to part ways with the 390 or the 790 first.

Spot On. I had been blessed by god grace to own some of the dream exotics in my life. The Twins, the IL4s and the V4s. I had shed a tear each time when I parted ways. They had all been a pure emotion and a spark of life for me. Decisions to part ways had been primarily to negotiate the financial burden the new ones were going to incur, and not because I got bored or it wasn’t just enough. If I could have, I wish I would have kept my Gen 1 Pulsar 150 back in 2001. My first one and my most symbolic one. Learnt a lot more than just how to be a rider. It gave me the taste of what motorcycling means, the freedom and the pulse it tapped. I wish !!! It’s emotional and it’s irreplaceable. And in case of bikes, it’s just a matter of heart. The current one that I own, recently completed 5 yrs and I think there is nothing in today’s market that could replace it. I agree, there are far better options today, technically, may be looks which are subjective, fancy, pricy and everything. But what tick all boxes for me is still my baby, and a twist of the throttle eradicates any iota of doubt I may have. I might add, but she isn’t going anywhere…. NAH ! ❤

I have the same exact feeling when Shumi speaks about his RD350s, i had 2 RE Classic 350s covered almost 90k kms combined. Everything I learnt about motorcycling was from them and i still remember and feel that i should have kept them. I still remember the day i gave them away and it disappearing down the street, that feeling just can't be put in words. #motorcyclesareemeotional

Same way, When there comes a topic of choosing motorcycle over other mode of transport, i’ve always been asked whether is it economical to travel on 2 wheelers than other mode of transportation, i always end up saying one thing, yes motorcycling is expensive, everything you do with a motorcycle is expensive, You don’t choose motorcycles when you think from your head, but it’s always heart over the head!!

I own a Gixxer SF 150 BS-IV and everytime I think about changing/moving on from the bike to a new one like Duke 390 or Dominaar 400 l, all I need is that one ride and a look back at the bike after parking it which makes me fall in love with that bike and think that this is the bike with which I have more than enough. I know eventually there will be a time when I have to move to a bigger capacity bike but this bike will always have a special place in my heart. Hopefully I will buy a second bike rather than sell this one of.

I am in that current situation. Having owned a cbr 250r for 7 years now. I love that bike except that it’s non abs and brakes are not that great. It’s more about safety now. But no new bike is getting me there “ ohh I would own this for the rest of my life” and at this moment I want that. Thank you for such an amazing video.

Absolutely! For me, Scooters last forever, bikes have always been a heart-based upgrade where as cars were always a need-based upgrade. Also, in case of cars, there comes a time when the upkeep and running cost just cannot justify its usage (typically around a lakh km or so / 10 year time). The resale value curve sharply declines at one point, beyond which, it is optimum to move on! For bikes, I've never felt a sharp increase in upkeep costs where as Scooters, at max, consume less than a modern toddler's pocket money :)

Coincidentally, I was having a similar discussion with my friend who is at his bike no. 28 and here I am still clinging on to my 16 years old bike with an archaic iron cast engine. For the most of us, I don't think that owning a motorcycles is ALWAYS an emotional decision. If that were true everyone would have had multi bike garages all over. Thinking about heart over head is possible for the few who are first and foremost able to afford the dream and build their garage. For the rest, we have to be pragmatic - think about the usage, budget, and specs. Yes we all drool over the new launch or test ride one on a road trip or a visit to the showroom. But in the end we think for ourself as Commuter, Family Person, Weekend Rider or a road trip maniac. Based on that we make our decisions. I owned a 2014 390 Duke which I loved, then we got a car for family, Eventually I fell out of love from my Duke, it became not so practical for me - It was not good for Commute and its flaws (Heavy clutch and Heat) made weekend riding difficult. I moved on, got something simple, I am happy now. I do miss the 390 at times but not enough to think to buy a new 400cc kid on the block or the adventure version of same. I am passionate about Motorcycles and Cars, but when it comes to my usage I will think from practical aspect always. Thats just my opinion.

I would like to offer a slightly different perspective. I own a Duke 200 since 2013, the original Kiska designed one. Coming from a 2005 Bajaj Discover mid variant, this machine was like a revelation! Loved the engaging ride it offered, while bearing the back destroying stiff suspension on our crater infested roads. I started evolving as a rider, and also having fun in the process. Then I met a girl who for some reason not only seemed to like me, but actually wanted to spend her life with me. After a saga involving two reluctant families from different states, we finally tied the knot. As we know, a machine like the Duke is not the most comfortable nor the safest perch for your better half. This led to us adding a TVS Wego in 2016, which is still serving us well. The Duke was relegated to occasional rides that seem to grow ever more infrequent. But it never failed to put a smile on my mug. And then one fine day our lives were brought to a standstill by the Covid induced lockdown. I was stuck in my in-laws place while the Duke sat exposed outside our rental accommodation. Even when the lockdown ended, I never seemed to find the time to ride or groom it. Until one fine day when I took stock and found that the rains and inactivity have taken its toll on my beloved ride and rendered it inoperative. With a remorseful and heavy heart, I managed to drag it to the nearest two wheeler garage where it sits still. Decided to move on from it and give it to someone who will appreciate and ride it as it deserves. I too wanted to avoid further punishment to my back, and with a new car acquired and the Wego for running errands, it seemed I had reached the end of the road for motorcycling. That is until I had to borrow a friend's Pulsar N250 for a quick errand from the office. Boy, oh boy! The moment I twisted that throttle once I exited the parking, I lit up like the night sky during Deepavali! A ear to ear grin plastered on my face for the entirety of the very short ride. That's when I realised that I couldn't turn my back on something that gives me pure unadulterated joy! I wanted to get back on a motorcycle, and the time seems right. Since the wife has the car to potter around wherever she pleases and I do not have to execute my duties of chauffeuring her royal chariot, Wego. I was in no big hurry. But as fate would have it, there came the 'new 400 cc kid on the block' with the looks of a mature beauty, promise of a less frantic ride and unseen QC for the segment, all at an incredibly mouth watering ask! Booked one immediately after the price was announced and determined to decide on it after a test ride. Watched all the first ride impressions, especially Shumi's 45 min take on it. Everything suggested that this is what I was looking for. However, a little piece of my heart was nagging me to hold off as there were rumours of a Tiger or even a bobber with this engine. Requested for advice and Motorinc also suggested the same. Again planned to take the final call after the test ride. The day finally came. Swung my leg over it, and immediately felt at home! The ergos, the ride and handling, the acceleration - oh god, the acceleration! The low end grunt is amazing for someone who has never ridden anything higher than a 200cc machine before. This felt like a perfect fit. Came home and started having a debate with myself. Should I just go for it, should I wait for the other variations or should I hold out for a higher capacity machine? One of the fiercest arguments I ever experienced! Finally I reasoned out the following: 1. Most of my riding would be within the city, and this one is the perfect tool that would be comfortable yet engaging to ride with enough grunt to keep a grin plastered on me mug. 2. When I do decide to head out for a longer ride, it still has the legs to cruise comfortably at a speed I'm content with. I am not a speed monster. 3. With the frustrating regulations for our expressways, a bigger machine doesn't make much sense. And would also not be as comfortable for regular City commutes. 4. I realized my longing for another variation was more aesthetic than pragmatic in nature. The riding style offered by this actually suits me the best. 5. The mouth-watering introductory price is just a cherry on top. Having made my decision, I decided to go ahead with my booking. Now there is another snag due to me falling for the black colourway instead of the booked red one, but am trying to get this sorted with Triumph. Hopefully this will be resolved soon and I'll get to saddle up. Bottom-line: if you seem to have moved away from the pleasure of two wheels but are actually still passionate about it, just one small ride on a fun machine is enough to reignite that spark which will turn into the wildfire it always was!

Thanks Shumi! Your videos are always bang on! I have my Hobbes (Duke 390 2015) which I bought because it was such an obvious choice at that time. And I don't think I want to sell it anytime soon. Apart from the practical reasons, what makes it tick for me is that I still get the same thrills with it as when I first rode it. Even if I want to upgrade to a faster, bigger bike, I don't think I'll be able to let go of my first love!

This is why I love your videos. You speak from the heart, you also get attached to things pretty easily, you also name your rides and talk to them like they understand and feel our emotions, you also feel the pain of staying apart from them. This is how I feel too and I have kept my 3 rides in running condition even if many people have suggested and even offered good money to buy them from me. It's like yes I need to keep investing some money to keep them in good condition, but once they are gone then they are gone. I bond with my machines and treat them well, in return I feel connected to them when we go out every time. Maybe it's just me or many many others feel the same. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Shumi da, you have been, are, and will be our best advisor in terms of life lessons on 2 wheels. 🌼

Motorcycling is an emotion and it’s heart over head..you are absolutely right Shumi.. it’s not the mileage of a bike that you remember..you will remember and cherish the riding memories..it not necessarily have be 2000 km Ladakh ride.. it may be 2 km ride in rain to the next village from your house or may be an off road ride to a small hill or a ride without any destination.. just you , your bike and the joy of riding.. if you are practical guy then to you motorcycle is just a mode of transport from point A to point B but if motorcycling is an emotion to you then it’s way more than that..As you grow older you will definitely remember the beautiful memories with your bike..

Shumi sir, I am a big admirer of yours in general, you have done a great service to motorcycling for us in this part of the world, where we still have places (not the likes of Delhi, Mumbai and other cities) where it is a stigma to ride a motorcycle beyond utility, where it is is still not “decent” to own a motorcycle beyond may be 150-200 cc. Thank you for contributing towards making motorcycling and the associated stuff mainstream. I forward your videos to everybody and anybody I can, cuz on a personal level, you help me defend my dream, my passion. I do own my 1st dream bike at the moment (after rebellion of course, that too with my own money). And last but not least, the last line in this video - motorcycling is heart over head - an original Shumi line. Thanks and all the best for MotorInc’s great success, I wish to see this grow.

Completely agree 👍 When the DPF issue arose, I thought of selling my BS6 Ecosport. I test drove a few SUVs, even from a segment up. But none could give the fun that an ES gives at 100 kmph on a 4 laned highway. I held on. Thankfully, Ford found a solution. They changed the entire exhaust assembly free of cost and reprogrammed the ECU. And I forever continue to cherish my decision of not selling my ES!

Sold my jawa due quality issues it had, this was my first bike in my earnings. Emotionally I was too much connected but can't afford the repairs of defects it had, it was a tough decision. Also financially it was a loss. But if I kept it and got the defective parts replaced, there is no guarantee that the replaced parts would have that much life, again it would have been expensive. Moving towards KTM now. Hope KTM won't disappoint.

Every bikes has have quality or technical faults and issues over the years but I have noticed that if you maintain it well from a learnt mechanic who is mostly not in the service centers of these bikes they work well After owning a Bajaj , RE and a ktm for around 10 years ktm's service has been the best but then it also depends on other factors as well.

@nitindhami7768 I had taken very good care but the material used in that bike was not good. Wash, polish, lube was the weekly task, and I never took bike out without cleaning but few parts corroded from inside and the plastic used on panels used to break for vibrations on bad patches. Maintenance from my end was top notch but still it was not worth for that machine 😔 performance, breaking and handling was awesome but quality was the issue. Still miss that bike.

I have a 200 NS 2012 model first in my city. It's gonna be 11 years old on the 21st September this year. I equally enjoy riding my bike as I used to when I first purchased it and I cannot even in my wildest dream even think of selling it. My friends have upgraded to a higher cc segment but I still ride my old pulsar 🙂

I think the change always comes when either the emotional or practical curve starts dipping. I had a 1st gen Pulsar 150 DTSi that clocked 1.75L kms- and being my first bike I was terribly in love. But then the engine and handling took a beating and I couldn't get them back despite spending- sold it off. My second bike the Karizma clocked 1.38L kms, but the maintenance costs overrode my love for it as my mileage was on the higher side. Then came the CBR250R- bloody hell reliable, rode all across the country taking it to terrains that made Ladakh and Spiti Valley appear jaywalking. It just kept going despite neglect on maintenance and it had clocked 2.66L kms when I left Mumbai and moved to Toronto- I still don't feel like selling it and gave it to a friend to use it. Now have a decade old Bandit 1250S and its just like the CBR250R- religiously goes about doing things its meant to. So as long as it does what I want it to do- I don' tthink I am going to let it go, maybe buy a DRZ400 as I plan to ride above the Arctic Circle some day. So I guess its that perfect balance of the practical and emotional factors that'll make it stay or go.

You give the best advice about these machines. I bought my Hunter 350 on Feb 1st and then the next day I saw the short you uploaded, comparing Hunter 350 with the Ronin and I knew I made the right choice and from that day onwards I fell in love again with my bike. It's my first bike, and I'll surely add more to my garage but I'm never replacing her♥.

Rula diya, bhai! You're right about Motorcycling being 'True Emotion'. I've ridden a few motorcycles and have owned only 1 - yet, I feel like I will be one of those who will only move sideways. I don't think I can 'move on'. I have the 2012 classic 350 - not a great spec sheet bike, whatsoever - but does it make my heart beat differently? HELL YES! Love your videos, MotorInc. I so relate to what you just said. I have my 220f that's going to turn 10 next March. I am currently looking to get a new machine for myself. KTM 390 Adv or RE Classic 350. Not sure as yet! What I'm sure about is that I'm not selling my 220f. It was my first and it still gives me a feeling that my new machine won't. Add to the experience, don't replace it! ✌️#passionoverpragmatism

In my case from 2001 Yamaha Crux R (3 years), Pulsar 150 (4 years) then FZ16 (10 years) and RE Classic 350 (4 years) simultaneously and now having only Continental GT 650 for 5 years. Going to keep GT650 as long as I’d be able to but want to add Street Triple R as soon as possible 🤍💯🙏🏻 Thanks for clearing the dilemmas 🙌🏼

Discover 125 CC - still running - 10 years passed - 2Lacs KMs Run. Currently we have Fz, Himalayan but Discover 125 will always be the king of Commute. Felt so silly to others when you say something like this to discover - but it is what it is! I call him Terminator. :) Thank you, Shumi - watching this video I found that there are more like me. :)

Truly heart over head... I had a TVS Apache 160 RTR, clocked around 60K in that. Did Sikkim tour, Orissa tour, Jharkhand tour and also the great Ladakh tour in that. Then sold it off and moved on to Husky Svartpilen 250. But oh God, I miss the Apache everyday as that was love. The husky is much better to ride than the Apache, but that was love. Will never forget that.

I have owned activa previously and have sold that last year and bought burgman. But there is not a single day that i dont miss my activa 125 as there was so much emotions attached to it. I love to do long rides on my scooters.

Being bored is still okay, being fed up with the service is a different thing. I met with one small accident a month ago, and since that day I am still waiting on parts to arrive. Some manufacturers build super good motorcycles, but equally terrible service experience so that the relationship is balanced. SUZUKI, I am talking to you.

I own a Yamaha FZ250 and I am loving it. But the only reason I will be moving on is because my better half is having difficulty boarding on to the pillion seat as it's in the taller side.

I am completely in sync here, getting motorcycle for me starts with the idea of keeping it forever, although time might come when I might have to sell it but the search doesn't start with that thought. Today I am in search of another motorcycle but I will also be keeping the current one. Logically from a general perspective, this does not make sense to a lot of people including my family members😅, why would someone buy another bike if he already has one, and why not sell it of buying a new one. I guess it's difficult to explain but that is that.

I teared up when I went through the video . I was asked to move on from my R15 V2 which I bought 9 yrs back which clocked 26ks but my heart strictly says no . And I held on to it ❤. Many other options came up to my mind like a more practical Speed 400 but still , my first bike is always my spl one . Had one RX100 too in my early days from my uncle but still R15 holds my heart. My uncle asked RX100 it later too 😅.

The first bike of mine was purely for commuting purpose - Honda Unicorn 150, I used it for 7 years; then I had a Royal Enfield Classic 500 which I had to sell due to financial emergencies 😢😢; then another commuter Tvs Entorq 125; now I ride a TVS Ronin 👌👌; planning to get a Harley Davidson x440!!

As a first my father owned a kawasaki boxer that too 1988 made and thats also 2nd hand ... We have such fond memory with that bike i always cherish to live that again . Even though gifted my father his dream bike classic 350 chrome red ..that kawasaki still with us .. Never gonna sold that bike .. Ever

The main reason one does not get emotionally with a motorcycle is when they don't ride much or if they do too much repetitive riding on the same route, like going to office and back home. You are most emotionally attached to a motorcycle for what it has done for the quests and adventure you have planned. I owned a Pulsar AS200 and did around 80000 kms. Unfortunately I had to sell it to buy adventure 390 and am not yet attached to my adv 390. The pulsar had taken me to places I would have rarely gone to if I had not owned a motorcycle. Moments like when you reach a beautiful scenic road and you just enjoy riding below 50 kmph and you feel one with the motorcycle and you kiss your tank to thank the motorcycle for getting you there without any hiccups, that is emotion😍

If you truly cherish your motorcycle, even when it occasionally presents issues over time, hold onto it. Always remember your initial reasons for embarking on this journey. The emotional bond you share with that particular machine is too precious to let go. While some believe that upgrading might enhance their experience, it's important to acknowledge that your old motorcycle can peacefully coexist with the new one. I have a RTR200 which was gifted by my father during my college days. I still ride that everyday since 2016. I was a new motorcycle but i don't want to sell my Apache. This motorcycle is a pleasure to ride. Hope to add a new one very soon.

Well acknowledged and a subtle topic to understand especially Indian enthusiasts. I believe it also depends on the environment you give your motorcycle. I own a RTR 180 gen 2, RC 390 gen 1 that I still have well kept at my home back in Mumbai. I use them for weekend rides gently and the RC gets to go to Chennai atleast once a year when I am in India. I owned a z800 , sold it and bought the Z900 (both used ) Moved from them both to a Ducati V4 since Cops were catching up real quick with the inline 4 sound and that became a sad hindrance during weekend rides to Lonavala or Charoti to say. I noticed that V4 was lovely at BIC having only used it for 4-5 trackdays in the past 2 years that I owned it. But I also noticed that V4 is an overkill on Mumbai streets and doesn't like traffic at all. Hence, when the time came for me to move to the states and I knew that v4 will not be looked after well as the smaller ones, I decided to sell it heavy heartedly to a person I know with access to atleast see the motorcycle once a year when I am in Mumbai. Hence, for me I never got bored of the V4 but sad that I couldn't give it the environment it needed weather wise or roadworthiness. On the contrast, the commute here in Atlanta is faster than most highways in India and a V4 would be a blast on the freeway or the Inter state. Yet having ridden the V4s here, it scares me how fast the bike goes in the blink of an eye and I run of my capabilites before the bike even steps up the game. Hence here, I have stuck to a Duke 390, a Ninja 400 (both for trackdays), a V4 strictly for tracks here and short rides during the day and a Versys 650. Love all 4 and glad that I am able to give them the environment they need time after time. Plus access to branded tyres. Hence for me, at this stage boring would be to ride a bike in an environment it doesn't like much 😅. Back in India I didn't even consider owning a Ninja 400 5-6 years back. But things change and unexpected things happen. Please keep these videos coming Shumi sir and team Motorinc ❤.

Exactly 20 days back I was in that same mood of moving away from my xpulse(4v), after getting into some wiring kit issue. I felt tired going to the sc(50km from home) every now and then for small niggles. But then I thought lets wait and give sometime, during this time i rode it in the rain, slush, water and on highways. Although one part of it(the speedo) was not working, I didn't really bother about it.. for sometime i forgot the flaw and I enjoyed riding it. Waited patiently, Got the part replaced from sc..Now I feel lets experience more and then think about moving from it. There would be imperfections, issues for everything.

This is a nice one. I had the Yamaha FZ-S, the 1st gen for about 4 years. I had to sell it off for pragmatic reasons as it was something that did teach me the very basics of motorcycle riding and yes I do have some good memories. But I had to move on. There were people telling me I should not ha e sold it as it was my first motorcycle, but I had to let go. That being said I personally don't miss it. But, yes I do remember the trips I made using that machine.

Very very perfectly said... i have owned multiple bike till date,and have been fortunate enough to always have more then one motorcycle at same time. Many bikes i sold and i was sad whenever i sold one but i kept the ones which just for unknown reason made a home in my heart. Currently i have Interceptor but i also have my 11 yr old Cbr250r and 7 year old C500 and any amount of money is not going to make me sell them,yes it has derailed me from getting my "big" bike,but i would wait extra year or 2 rather then regret for my whole life for selling my babies.

Loved the video. It reminds me of how I fell in love with my RE Classic 350, learnt its nuances, and took it to its limit. I was also shit scared of riding it in the rain post an accident, but that just made me a better rider. I ultimately decided to sell it off because I outgrew it, and wanted something better (still waiting for something better).

Started off this video with the hope that this is what I needed to part with my 2017 Duke 390. My first own purchase, my first fast bike, my gateway drug into the world of advanced riding. I have a z900 in the garage now, and it doesn't make sense to keep both. But the last few lines from shumi, puts me back in square one! Motorcycles don't make much sense. it's always Heart over Head! Damn you Shumi! :P

I own Karizma zmr clocked aproxx 88000km in 11 Years & will renew the rc but not going to sell it anytime sooon untill i cross 100000 mark in it. I like the reliability & soothing sound of its engine.

Hmm... That's a new perspective and a better one... Why did I never think it that way? May be beacuse I always wanted a one bike garage. May be because I have a dream to get a 400cc bike sometime in future. But after watching this video I got this feeling that it doesn't guarantee that I will love that 400cc bike forever. May be a 150cc or 200cc bike will capture my heart in such a way that it becomes the keeper... Thank you Shumi for showing a new way and Happy Teacher's Day in advance...
