I shoot with Nikon D3s Sports, D850 Studio & Sports, My favorite is my Nikon /D610 & the D3s, The D3s in my opinion has the best ISO range of any of the ones I own. My take on it. Upgrade, if your camera is not a Full Frame camera. Or if it is an old DSLR, upgrade to a (FF) mirrorless.

The new camera I got for this year is, a Sony Xperia 1 iii. Awesome tool for mobile photography, while keeping my Nikon D810 and D3100 for outdoor and jungle photoshoot. If the upcoming Nikon Z9 can really do 8k 60fps with tremendous result, and has a tank-built case like the D850, I would get it, since I have no plan selling my current camera lenses.

I upgraded from Canon 700D to RP before watching this video. Luckily, I did fulfill your 4 criteria of upgrading reasons. I think the next thing to upgrade is collecting the RF lenses one by one.

My camera keeps telling me, I'm better than you. Been using a 5D mark IV for the past year. Video can be frustrating. I just upload to KZfaq, some Facebook and just keep video at 1080p/30. The camera has C-Log but I never use it, but I do shoot stills in RAW. Started camera usage back in 2018 with a old pocket cyber-shot. It's not the camera, it's the discovery. Don't need a job, so every nice day I'm out creating whatever I wish. I'm creating my own reality. At age 68, I can't get to some places I could 10 years ago. My favorite accessory is a walkstool. Been doing mostly handheld lately. Like I say, video is a challenge, camera has no image IS. Using more manual focus now.

I upgraded from my 6DMKII to the R5.. I honestly didn't need that big of an upgrade. I could have gotten a 5DMKIV. I needed a dual card camera for work. I got the R5 because I wanted a camera where I won't feel a need to upgrade for a bit.. saying that, I'm going to actually trade in my 6DMKII & buy an R6 to have as a second body for work with dual cards.. the mirrorless eye tracking has spoiled me..

Considering I'm still using an Olympus E-500... I should probably upgrade.

I purchased a secondhand Sony A5000 back in 2018 ands till using it now, and the reason I still keep it because I think in 4 years of using it I haven't utilise the camera to it's maximum/peak performance, and yes the last reason how to explain it to my spouse 😂

Billboards are generally seen from a distance, so you don't need high dpi. Something like 50 dpi. Unlike a magazine where you look at it at less then arms length so 300dpi would be what you need.

I upgraded d7000 to d500 and still do lot of photography. My shutter counts with d7000 was 50k plus. Did my decision is worth spending of d500+200-500?

Oh dear I'm in trouble I bought my Canon 50d 2008 it's now 2021 I still use my 50d, I like it, I've had a New shutter fitted, I still win competitions, I like that it doesn't shoot video, I like it doesn't have a tilt screen I like that it's got metal in it and not all plastic, I just like my Canon 50d that's it.

I actually downgraded and didnt upgraded to the latest. My most updated camera is only the Sony A6400 because of the video capabilities. The rest are old. One of my oldest camera is the Nikon D90.I still use Fujifilm XT1, XE2 and XPro2 until now 2021, I need to upgrade skills more than into the latest and greatest but also expensive gear that will soon depreciate. High end lens is much better :)

you forgot one thing when you do upgrade you can take the money that you spend on that and claim it on your taxes.. one of the main reasons why upgrade and excuses that I can give my spouse is that I can use whatever I buy and claim it on your taxes... one thing that I highly recommend for most people if you're running a business invest in it.. I'm also one of those type of people it's best to have and need then and not have and need.. but I would also say to people that they need to upgrade their lenses before they even think about upgrading their camera bodies..

Every 2 years to keep value high. If your clients are happy with the quality why upgrade? I still shoot with a Sigma SD Quattro H and SD1 Merrill for Big Prints and a Sony a7RII for best all around.

Maybe I'm taking too long between cameras, but as an amateur, I can only justify big steps. This is not an investment balanced by increased incoming funds, but throwing money into the bottomless pit of a hobby. 2004: D70 (first DSLR) - 6MP, ISO 100 - 1600, No video, 3fps stills, 20.4bits colour depth, 10.3 Dynamic Range, 1 CF Slot) 2011: D7000 (40th gift. D70 power board and CF slot giving issues) - 16MP, ISO 100 - 6400, 1080@24fps video, 6fps stills, 23.5bits colour depth, 13.9 Dynamic Range, 2 SD Slots) 2021: D850 (50th gift. Finally made the jump to FX. Been shooting some video for work where 4K helps) - 46MP, ISO 64 - 25600, 4K@30fps video + 1080@120p + 8K time-lapse, 7fps stills, 26.4bits colour depth, 14.8 Dynamic Range, 1 SD Slots + 1 XQD Slot) - Also, upgrading at a point where the D7000 is still in good enough condition to give to my daughter when we go on photowalks together. Why not get a mirrorless Z Series now? Over the last 10 years I only bought FX glass, so I can get away with just a new body. Maybe I'll get a Z series as a retirement git to myself in another 10 to 15 years :)

I wish camera manufacturers would stop the pixel race. I bought a Canon M6mII because it's compact and lightweight to have with me at more places but it has 32MP (6984x4660) images taking up 30+MB in CRaw, completely overkill and wasting space.

Just got a a6400 for my personal hobby. Having myself used a a6000, I know that extra rm 1.5k top up to get a a6400 is totally worth it. 1.The auto focus is faster than I can pan 2. Improved colour science 3. Better screen, evf 4. Touch to focus ( rather have this than moving the directional button) 5. Same emount lens. 6. Better menu system 7.magnesium body(I need it to last) The auto focus is amazing, to me that's the most important thing, out of focus image is a good as not having an image. I can surely use this camera until it turns to scrap, by that time God knows how camera will become. Over the last 3 years camera has drastically improve thanks to mirrorless. I would say embrace the technology, though yes you can shoot with a Polaroid with amazing result, but a new camera can do the same and better with lesser effort.

This video appeared on my timeline late but Andrew boss, D750 is not the successor of D600. D600 is a lower tier line-up. D750 is the successor of the D700 that's launched in 2008. So basically D700 to D750 is 6 years apart, then another 6 years to D780. The D750 is a huge jump from the D700, still a very capable camera today. D780 jump from the D750 isn't great.

I have seen people with phones kick the crap out of professional photographers lugging around tons of equipment. Why? Because it’s all about composition and light. A billion dollar camera cannot compensate for a crappy composition Look at the greats like Saul Leiter and learn about composition, color, and light. That’s what’s going to make you a better photographer. Secondly learn your camera inside and out. Buy a descent editing software to touch up your images Save the money you would spend on a high end piece of frustration and take a trip to a cool location and shoot till you puke 🤮
