Everyone trying to figure out how this private has this many awards...well you see...when the war first started, this private deployed, got promoted and demoted... a few times. Army reg was enforced but to the private, army reg doesn't apply.. some of ya'll E5, E6 with two rows on your chest...have a seat big sarge..i'll take the private with me to go fight a war.
@NarpytheCrimeDog3 жыл бұрын
Why would an E2 be expected to know the NCO creed?
@ACombatVeteran3 жыл бұрын
@@NarpytheCrimeDog You're supposed to be familiar with the responsibilities of two ranks above and one under and I say "supposed to know" very loosely.
@mikeym18753 жыл бұрын
Furthermore, what’s on your chest shouldn’t define your military service. There are many people out there that have done way more with fewer ribbons on their chest. IMO, ribbons don’t mean a damn thing. If you’re the type to chase ribbons. Go for it. But I suggest you go out there everyday, honor your oath, and be the best Soldier, Sailor, Marine or Airman you can be.
@briguy4593 жыл бұрын
@@mikeym1875 so what you meant to say was you had less than 2 rows when you separated or...? I mean, one deployment generally gets you at least one row- add a nat'l def, a good conduct, & gwotsm, there's your 2 rows. I'm dying to know what's done way more if you retire with less than 2 rows. That's basically a minimum, you could almost get that many by accident.

I told him he must've been a very sharp person. But he said, nah, that's not what happened. What happened was that his Sergeant got killed so they had to push someone up the ranks to fill the open spot. I was like daMn! His way of being humble.

you can still make SGT in 2 years today if you enlist as a SPC and are in a high demand MOS or one where they promote everybody because they want to retain you like intel or cyber where the Army knows that they could lose you to some civilian job where you'd make double so the best the Army can do is just automatic promote people, even below zone up to SSG so as long as you're competent and offer you gucci duty locations like Germany or bonuses. I don't really like it too much because how can somebody be a good SGT with just two years in service which is why the old WW2/Korea system of E4-E9 SPC grades works better imo. Yeah, you get to retain people by giving them a higher paygrade because of their high technical jobs but they aren't expected to be leaders/NCOs.

Actually I've never seen anyone wear a Schützenschnur, that thing he has on his right shoulder, in silver. In Germany you either make gold or you don't wear it.
@kandros_68373 жыл бұрын
I really like to see it on other Uniforms as well :D

As someone who sets up the promotion board and records I can say this is pretty much accurate.

It’s funny but so real at the same time. I’ve seen so many soup sandwich soldiers that show up to boards either super nervous or didn’t study.

Is that a german Schützenschnurr on his right shoulder?

Okay serious question, what is the correct answer to "have a seat"
@kiehnonyou2883 жыл бұрын
You set it up the right way and sit.

Listen, the point of the chair is to see if you can use the tools given to you correctly for success and to judge your ability to adapt.

Non US here: What is the story with the ribons/awards? Are those your basic "survived bootcamp" award or are they actually telling an exeptional story?
@japonte1733 жыл бұрын
everyone gets 2 ribbons when they graduate. everything else beyond that shows that you or your unit accomplished something telling a story of what you’ve done and where you’ve gone.

The unit citations are above his nameplate.

japonte173 most of them are standard . He’s got the Good Conduct medal for not getting caught for 3 years, The National Defense medal ( the McDonalds ribbon ) , Iraq Campaign Medal for serving in Iraq with one service star , the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal which is also a more or less guaranteed medal , NCO professional development ribbon for completing the Basic Leaders Course necessary for promotion to NCO , the Army Service ribbon for completing basic and the overseas service ribbon for well going overseas . He also has the CAB ( Combat Action Badge ) which officials denotes he saw combat but in reality can be awarded for fairly lame reasons .
@japonte1733 жыл бұрын
Harsh Bansal i know most ribbons don’t mean you were a war hero or did something really cool, but aside from the ones you get just for graduating basic, they mean you or your unit did something.
@harshbansal79823 жыл бұрын
japonte173 I get you dude but in his case all are essentially standard apart from the ICM and NCO professional development course ribbon .

Why is a private going to the board??? 🤔
@walkerfox18463 жыл бұрын
Because he has the wrong rank insignia on.

Maybe he was a Specialist who got demoted after his 45 days of extra duty
@walkerfox18463 жыл бұрын
@@hmoobmeeka I highly doubt a Private E-2 could gain that many ribbons in the average length of time it takes to get from an E-1 to an E-3 or even E-4 for that matter. So likely he's playing as a Sergeant or Staff Sergeant who just happened to have the wrong rank insignia on some how.
@ToledoPitbull3 жыл бұрын
@@TheOldKevin I didn't need any soldier of the month board's before I went to the promotion board. Points nearly maxed on ARCOM's alone. Really squared away soldiers don't worry about AAM's. It's ARCOM or nothing. Maxed my PT test and aced the promotion board. I just scanned through the board study guide and was gtg. Aside from promotion board's the only other board that matters is the Audie Murphy board. But that's not the point. Point is he must have shown up in the wrong person's uniform because a private doesn't get asked to recite the NCO creed for any board.

Remind me of interview I had for a security specialist position with Fulton County PD while I was working as a contract security sergeant., the head of the interview committee was the director of building security Services for Fulton County PD at the time was also the deputy Provost Marshal at Fort McPherson as a reservist. Never been so nervous in an interview in my life I gave it my best shot when I got my results back I placed 8 out of 34 and they were taking the top six evaluation scores as selection. Close but no cigar but I'm still proud of what I did. And always will be. You hit what it feels like to be in a situation like that either civilian or military dead center. I can laugh about it now but at the time I was trying not to be sick
