Lala Kent is back! We saw the Bros movie but why didn’t you? Giselle appears to have hired a divorce attorney. Who should Tom date? More celebrities file for divorce. Pete Davidson removed his Kim tattoo and Post Malone got more. Angelina wants us to know what Brad Pitt did to their children and herself on that private plane. The Met gala theme is out. Constance Wu’s memoir includes an essay about her sexual harassment. Fashion week has Kanye pissing off everyone. Britney’s fans are turning faster than she spins. Cartoon lesbian characters are revealed. RHOBH reunion looks are out. RHSLC Mormonism storyline is fascinating.

Re: Billy Eichner’s cringy hissy fit and the “Bros” publicity. I’m a gay man. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen the cliche jokes about awkward PDAs, bad hookups and steroids in the club in several other GWM movies that didn’t claim to be “the first major gay movie ever”. Billy Eichner is not my “Tyler Perry”. I have a large collection of sweet and raunchy LGBTQ 90s/2000s rom-coms and I’m not thirsty for that content. P.s. The title alone seems to exclude over half of the community.

It’s funny you say that. I live that movie and yet I think of it as an entertaining, really good movie. Of course it’s centered around gay meets straight/(naive)conservatives, it’s funny like a lot of our differences are funny. My parents, who are O.C. natives, love that movie too. Interesting.

Regarding Bros. Maybe people just aren't into Billy's sense of humor? Maybe he shouldn't have been the main character? Maybe his fan base isn't extensive enough? At least this is the kind of thing I've read on the forums, along with people mentioning there were too many points trying to be made to try and school a straight audience. In the gay world, we can be vicious enough with each other so I wouldn't expect a straight audience to then also jump on board and make this movie a smash hit. It'll make the money back, just might take a minute.

He also specifically told straight people to stay home & not watch his movie bc it wasn’t made for us. Then he falls apart when straight people (who make up NINETY SEVEN PERCENT of the population) listen to him……AND THEN he loses his shit on twitter, undoubtedly providing us w/infinitely more entertainment than his movie could have annnnnd this entertainment is free!!! Most straight ppl do not watch raunchy gay films. Billy carried on the stereotype of the bitchy queen with his tweets. RomComs are not in vogue. It wasn't revolutionary with the many gay based love films, The Birdcage for one and released by MGM. Billy is not a big name either. It'll pu some costs but it was delusional to think Daryl was getting off a tractor in Flower Mound, TX and seeing BROS, plus the name of the film isn't a lgbtq term we use. I'm not looking to see it until it's free myself, but to now cringe watch due to Billy meltdown. And not all gay ppl have three ways and use poppers, etc.

On memoirs: With few exceptions, it is best to live 50 years before writing a memoir. At that point, you proudly write it all with perspective and without regrets. On marriage: I always thought it would be a great idea to make it really complicated and expensive and difficult to get married and really easy to get divorced (rather than the reverse). I think this would fix a lot of the problems we see. Namely, it would stop the billion dollar business that is divorce court! Fun show today.

FYI I am disabled so I have been quarantined since the pandemic and will not go to a theatre for my health. When we are in pain sometimes we make statements that make us not realize other people’s reality. I would love to see that film since I am bisexual it seems like a hoot. But am I willing to risk death and suffering deeply while I do it? No. But I will enjoy it when it is available at home. I represent millions of people that society has forgotten about as well. Because society doesn’t include us they don’t get our views when they want. If it were up to me all disabled people who can’t leave home would be in a program that helps us get early access so we can watch things when they come out too. We would love to see it but if we can’t get to the mailbox the theatre is not possible. It is easier to meet people where they are. Than try to force them to do something they don’t want to do.

@@tiffprendergast no I can't. I am severely disabled. That includes being allergic to the cold and the heat so I can go out sometimes when the air isn't too cold or polluted which triggers asthma. If it is hot or cold I have seizures and become paralyzed. When I am cold being wet gives me seizures, so if its cold and it rains even a little I have seizures. So going outside just isn't as fun unless the weather is ok. We all have different limitations in life. I just happen to have really rare health issues that luckily only a few people have. Most people with MS just have issues with heat and not usually as severe. But def try not to assume someone is as lucky to have the same reality as you. We all have challenges that are unique and the more we share the more we can learn. Have you had any health issues? Maybe something else? I bet you face different things than I have that I might find really hard too. Life is fun that way. I send you love and hope you are coping well with the challenges you are facing💖

I agree with Heather romantic comedies were a thing of the 90s early 2000s in the height of the mall times, get your girlfriends or boyfriend to see it and we all wanted to me the girl. And unfortunately people would probably feel like it's not the same as we can't fantasize about being a gay guy. Which is unfair as gay men would see romantic comedies even if they were not well represented (other than the funny gay friend in a few of them). In my case I just really don't go to the movies anymore.

I wish movies and TV shows had more emotional sex scenes..now everyone just learns from porn and that's a problem. When I was a kid, you'd see people fall in love convincing before boning--makes a difference. And the movie sex wasn't outrageous and male centered. Watch porn and you just see weird combos of people (stepmom pizza guy or whatever) thrown together with bad acting.

As soon as we had the talk about what gay means around 4, she said “oh like Velma” my older two obviously saw the shocked/lightbulb moment look on my face and they said “did you not know this and you’ve been watching scooby doo since you were a kid, you need to get your gaydar checked” 😅 It was a very eye opening but proud parenting moment bc of how excepting they are of everyone! Sounds like not enough people from “bum-f&ck” West Hollywood made the arduous trek to LA to go to the movies. 22mill production. Maybe the 30 mill spent promoting it gave a false expectation. Wouldn’t be the first time social media did that. So a dismal 4.8mill opening weekend. You all discussed multiple reasons that may have contributed to bad numbers. Yet Billy is butt-hurt and blames everyone else. This attack-reaction mode is so so boring. It’s not the first well-reviewed movie to be a box office disappointment. Doesn’t mean it’s not a good movie. Doesn’t mean it’s a remarkable movie. Doesn’t mean people suck. Who’s even going to movies anymore?
