If Yujin joined JYP Entertainment as a trainee instead of accepting Cube Entertainment offer back in around 2010 or 2011, there is no guarantee that Yujin would successfully debuted as a kpop idol, as the competition on the big 3 kpop company in Korea are a lot more fierce than Yujin has to face in Cube Entertainment. Yujin debuted successfully as a member of CLC does not mean you can assume Yujin could also successfully debuted as a member of Twice. These two things are not equal to one another. The selection of the members of Twice, although was audition and competed by the survival show Sixteen, the final lineup was mostly already picked and decided by JYP and their staff already. And what if Yujin was not successful in becoming a member of Twice, then what is she going to do if she still wanted to pursue her dream of trying to become a kpop idol. If Yujin stayed until almost before the debut of Twice to leave JYP Entertainment, Yujin would almost be 19 years old then. If Yujin would still like to get to the debut lineup of a kpop group, her options are most likely join survival shows or trying out and audition for medium or smaller size lesser known companies and restart as a trainee to compete with other 15 to 18 years old trainees to try to compete for a spot to debut in kpop group but now as a 19 or 20 years old trainee. All Yujin would be known for at that point is a former JYP trainee. Yes, Yujin did well on Girls Planet 999 and managed to successfully debuted as a member of Kep1er. However, that has a lot to do with Yujin already being a CLC member so she got the vote support of the CLC fanbase, and of course Mnet provide nice edit and good screen time for Yujin on gp999 also help. However, if Yujin was only a trainee and never debuted or maybe Yujin became a kpop idol but as a group member with a lesser known group or lesser known company, what are Yujin chances of having the same level of screen time by Mnet and vote support on gp999 as a 25 years old? Just be happy that Yujin joined Cube Entertainment, because at least Yujin got to debut as a kpop idol by being a kpop group member with CLC and at least got to perform for 5 plus years as a kpop idol.
