It sounds good man! Take it to the next level by adding a very light 16th note to the first kick, and to all the snare notes. It’ll give you the allusion of a delay effect.

Drummers who wish to be true to their roots call ," grooves,' cadences because that what was what the first jazz drummers called them.. The first Jazz drummers were american freedmen who had gotten their drumming experience playing marching cadences for troops during the civil war. Marching cadences are patterns played in time so people can move in time to the music- marching troops or dancing people. So you should call it a cadence as well.. Also there is the you tube live recording of Zeppelin playing when the levee breaks live and Bonham uses paradidles because he didn't have the echo machine gizmo on tour.. The version they played live sounded like something that Robert Johnson, or Muddy Waters, or Howlin Wolf Willy Dixon or any of the great Blues pioneers would have dome and is much closer to the original Levee breaks done by Memphis Minnie and Kansas Joe McCoy- kind of an acoustic blues with a 2/4 walking beat- clearly influenced by ragtime time signatures.. Showing the timeless greatness of american and british blues.. best wishes Bruce Peek

I’m having trouble double kicking the drums while playing the hi-hat. I keep playing what I’m supposed to be playing on my kick to my hi-hat. I play double on both. Do you have any tips?

Yes, slow it right down, practise playing 2 hats with a kick in between, and build the tempo gradually!

Two mistakes. One. Don't say anything and don't stop, just play the music and comment afterwards. Two. Have the camera behind you showing you playing. Anything else is a mistake. I have taught my Dad how to play and I showed him as I taught him. He was at the kit during.
