I used to play an APOCALYPSE deck that killed with GREATER GARGADON. Was BLACK RED. Ensnaring bridge is playable. Bloodghast synergies. Petals. Dark rit. Thoughtseize .... PRISON

Literally proxied out a full version of a similar list over the weekend and played legacy with it last night, and both you and Mengu drop videos on it the morning of! I've loved this deck for years and am so exicited that a) paper legacy is firing again near me, and b) my favorite deck is good in the meta!

Hey Brian, what about suspend-adventure Apocalypse? Suspending sol talisman and mox tantalite or after the apocalypse wipes everything up, maybe some greater gargadons, bonecrusher giants and galvanic relay-type effect to play stuff from exile?

Hi! Glad to see more sweet prisoney garbage, put it in my veins! Experimental suggestion: would it improve the videos if the timestamps for rounds were labeled after the matchups ("vs Pox, vs Delver")? If intrigue is important, you could leave a couple games blank, or do the same for sweet brews you match up against. But this way, if someone's looking for a perspective of Bant vs Pox, they can find it more easily, I imagine. P.S. Can Apocalypse work in a heavier Madness package? Exile everything, but you put 3 wallas and a vengevine into play. Perhaps a tool to go the distance against control decks who assemble their planeswalkers and enchantments and whatnot, reset their progress and call a round 2 of sorts.

Since Apocalypse says exile all permanents, then discard your hand, you could float mana and have a hand full of madness when you cast it. All gets discarded, you can cast it and oppo has no lands to deal with it.

I would like to see you playing some new cards in red prison :) like Caves of Chaos maindeck and Gut, True Soul Zealot (which is also a goblin). Hearse is situational and 8 moon effect maindeck are too much.

First round 5th game, why didnt you just put down the second mox with the spirit guide under it? Is it a punt or am i missing something? I am just thinking then you would have had the bug bear next round and the mana that round to?

Here a bit late but I've been playing this deck in paper for some time now and want to get better. Been trying COCA and Leilia but honestly, they cause me to get stomped by delver with its pesky flyers taking my initiative and naya lands cause Minsk and boo early is a house. Feels like Mox diamond hoses my decks game plan but its also not worth playing my chalice on 0 just counter the 1 card they might not even see. The older chandra/karn/ensnaring Bridge variants felt much better in the meta, but I must be doing something wrong as everyone's on the creature heavy build these days. Agreed that fury and hearse are great additions. Also im not playing den, maybe thats wrong too? Any tips?

Round 5 game 1 is there a legitimate reason to exile ssg rather than pitch it to mox? The mox just rotted in the hand when it would have been a permanent source of mana pitching ssg to it. And you would have been able to activate den just once, but the extra damage that attack plus the one bonus goblin would have done should have taken the game

Hey round 2 opponent was my roommate! I got a fun text that day when he said you were paired. He always has to put up with me playing weird Bosh channel brews. Been having fun with an iteration of that Dryad Zenith Valakut deck (dropped days undoing combo) and won our weekly for the first time in a few months. your start on G1 R1 is exactly why I do not understand those list are not running 4 trinisphere anymore. It's mainly a time walk, or double time walk +++. The deck runned the playset for several years I do not see why the number decreased since.

I wonder if apocalypse could work in a yorion deck? flicker the board, exile everything then you get all your permanents back at the ends step. need a lot of mana so it might fit into a lotus field /big mana deck.

No. The deck is built to make 2R. Not 1RR. Hex is more of a 4 or 5 drop and doesn’t even meaningfully affect a swath of the metagame.

At ~41:00 was not utilizing the flavor text on shatterskull smashing a calculated decision or an oversight? They can bounce the Uro with Karakas or just recast it, but at least it's not threatening to kill you the next turn.

The deck is built to cast 2R cost spells, 1RR is harder to make and impacts the board less.

The first thing I thought of with Apocalypse was that one 5cmc Chandra with +1 emblem. If you can get a few emblems on your opp before popping apocalypse you can have some incremental damage incase you can’t restabilize.
