Jack handing Sky his Morpher and letting him be the Red Ranger for that one time is one of my favorite SPD moments because even though Heroes comes in all colors Jack knew letting Sky be the Red Ranger for this fight was incredibly important to Sky he not only got justice for his father death but also in that moment Sky got to continue his father's legacy as the Red Ranger for this one moment 😭🤘🔥🔥

Jack doesn't get credit for being one of the best red rangers we've ever had. I get Jason was first, and Tommy is unfortunately Tommy and gets constant glaze, but Jack's development and leadership in his one season, while sharing development time with the other rangers, is unheard of. He truly didn't want to be a red ranger, let alone a ranger, but was called. And he answered. He allowed Sky to borrow his morpher for a deeply personal reason, and eventually relinquished his power to help out his community. I think I just convinced myself he's probably the greatest leader ranger, if not ranger we've ever seen.

Jacks really shocked me when i watched S.P.D. He was a black man who had locks was from the street had a problem with authority and ain't want anything to do with the police force but stepped up did what he needed to and choose his community in the end, ment a lot to see real representation for us man was a legend 💪🏿🔥🔥🔥

They blessed us with SPDs writing. I was only 12 at the time but compared to some lesser seasons, episodes like this look even better on a retrospective

As a Power Ranger fan who's been there since the beginning I must say that Jack is the best Red Ranger and these episodes prove it. I always said Jack may not be the Red Ranger you always want, but he was the Red Ranger that was needed to get the job done.

And all of Sky's character development pays off when Jack leaves SPD with Sky being promoted to the red ranger

Spd is peak And Jack is a unique ranger. Moving on from spd when the mission was over cuz he wanted to do more. But he still answered the call as red ranger when he was called upon to do so.

The Disney era had so many great actors, arcs and well written scenes, I miss this era of power rangers.

While my dad introduced me to the Power Rangers franchise through the original MMPR series, SPD were my childhood team… Jack Landors was my generation’s Red Ranger. He and Sky (along with Cruger) were largely the main focus on the SPD series and story and the character arcs the two went through to make that Mirlock moment so power was amazing. Jack had to learn the responsibility of power, and the importance of reading his teammates and understanding what they need (for example during the Sinuku episode when Jack went out of his way to learn why a birthday was so important after he upset Syd) and Sky had to learn how to let go of his pride and realize that his rank doesn’t necessary determine his worth. When Jack gave his morpher to Sky so Sky could finish Mirlock in the same colors as his father… it completed Jack’s arc by showing that he can now understand the needs of anyone… even Sky who was once hard to work with. And for Sky, he graciously returns Jack’s morpher to him at the end of the two parter, finally realizing that his blue rank doesn’t make him a lesser man or ranger. He recognizes what Jack did for him… and fully accepts that Cruger made the right choice. Both characters matured so much to get to this point… and man is it cathartic every time I revisit SPD to get to this point because Jack and Sky went through hell and back to finally forge the friendship that they did.

I haven't seen all of SPD's episodes, but the ones I have always have the best interactions with Jack and Sky. The first was Jack resting on his laurels about being the Red Ranger, relaxing while everyone was training. By the end, Jack is working into the night, with Sky watching him having the final vote if Jack should be kicked out or not. The next was when a friend of Sky's is a traitor, and Sky wants to bring him in alone. Jack can't let that happen due to regulations but points out things that the team does that can give Sky a few minutes to do what he needs to. These two are Yin and Yang. Two sides of the same coin that complete each other. While I haven't seen them all, this dynamic is probably the best in Power Rangers.

SPD has a special place in my heart, it was the first Power Rangers series I watched from beginning to end. Jack was like my favorite Ranger ever at the time, loved his dynamic with Sky.

Among dino thunder, SPD was my personal second favorite. All the characters were perfect, every story arc was top notch, and the growth each ranger goes through makes it so worth while to watch. Especially jack and sky's relationship. Jack's line of "Heros come in all colors" is one of the best lines in the whole series.

I think the tittle of the episode is amazing, because it shows how ranger color, skin color, nothing matters more then who you are, such a hype episode from a hype season

Such an awesome story they told with this relationship. You could feel both their emotion. The line "heroes come in all colors" I feel at least in the context of this group of rangers really shined. They all had their hurdles to get over and each had their own adversity to overcome throughout the whole show. Such a strong group man.

The more I look back, SPD cooked so hard, the stove was running out of gas for Mysthic Force, and burned out by the time Operation Overdrive hit the frying pan.

For as powerful as this two-parter was, I feel it was a major misstep by the showrunners to not do original footage for the pre-Battlizer fight against Mirloc. Even as a kid, I found it incredibly confusing why this important battle for Sky... had the first part of it taken up by the nothing character that was the Omega Ranger. It wasn't until watching Dekaranger that I learned that this plotline was originally meant for DekaBreak (best 6th senshi imo) and the first fight was recycled Sentai footage. I feel it would've been more satisfying if Sky had been the one to stand alone against Mirloc, maybe even Jack throwing Sky the morpher near the start of the fight before being captured. It just feels a bit cheap that the first part of the episode is taken up by the wasted potential of the Omega Ranger...

As a little kid and to this day, Jack Landors was, and is my all-time favorite Power Rangers character. I'm not black, so I can't relate to him on the same level you did, but I related to him in terms of character so much that I thought that while we might not share the same skin color, we share the same heart. Like he said, heroes come in all colors.

I rewatched SPD more times than I could count, and this is definitely up there being one of my favorite arcs.

The line was pretty much Jack saying to Sky and be extension the audience that it's not just the red ranger that makes power rangers, it's all of them as a team working together, every one of the team has the qualities to be a leader regardless of who they are and what colour they are wearing.

I was sad when Jack left the squad on the last episode.

I always get confused as to why they used the red TF suit in this arc.

I wish we saw more of the Rangers switching colors throughout the seasons. Maybe not a frequent thing, but in special moments where it's an organic thing like with Sky, that'd be cool.

It's been years since I watched SPD but I always saw it as a favorite, and it was the last series I watched, as I was getting older and Power Rangers was "for kids" OBVIOUSLY. Them having powers was also unique and I always liked that. Looking back, it's so cool that they essentially had Stand abilities.

It is nice to see conflict between the heroes according to their experiences, ethics way of solving a problem etc it create more cool dynamics.

when Jack saying Heroes come in all colors at the start, i knew this was going to be a fantastic 2 parter. great episodes and character character arc for Sky.

He said it talking about colours of the team but also meant skin colour. I get people can get scared to know a kids show was trying something but obviously it was made to be that way especially with the two characters that were used in the scene. (which disney was known for doing alot) It makes me interested in the tension of their leader-subordinate dynamic in the beginning as deeper than disdain for each other just because he was a cop that saw him stealing then having to work with him. (Even tho he was stealing robin hood-esque style for the community which even more as a power ranger you would expect him to chill on that by the 3rd episode)

That's why SPD is one of the best seasons ever. The development and the strong cast it has is one of the most powerful in all PR franchise. Sometimes people think RPM is the best in Disney era but, hey, SPD is really top too.

I watched both Timeranger and Dekaranger.... Both shows literally 'nukes' timeforce and SPD from orbit...the feels those shows have, the stakes! Also timeforce tech is from hundreds of years ahead of SPD but they digitize the enemies in SPD and freeze the enemies in timeforce, the technology has gone backwards

My first Power Rangers season was Dino Thunder, but SPD has my favorite duo in Jack and Sky as red and blue.

Spd is my favorite out of all the power rangers series and seeing the development of both jack and sky was pretty cool at first they didn't like one another but over time they both taught one another different things on being a ranger. When sky was blinded by his friend returning Jack knew something was up. Jack was always there for sky

I remember this episode; it is mindblown for the kid me that having the idea of blue getting lent the power of red with backstory behind it. You know what is better, after this Jack and Sky synergy became even more solid as a team.

I would have been great to see jack and sky have a serious 1v1 fight against each other as rangers in the form of a spiteful sparring match or something. I also wanted to see who was really the more skilled ranger on terms of physical combat.

I've always been a bit mixed on the lesson of this two-parter. While yes, heroes do in fact come in all colors, it's dulled by the fact that until they get SWAT mode, Jack is the only one who can use the battlizer, effectively lowering the combined potential strength of team. Note that this whole conflict only started when Sky was told only the red ranger was compatible with the battlizer technology. If all the rangers had access to it, he wouldn't care about the whole "I'm blue and you're red" thing again. Heroes may comes in all colors, but as we see here, some colors are better than others.

Fun fact, this is the first battlelyser to appear in the super sentai version. Secondary fun fact the battlelyser appeared after the American version was done in crossover event of with the Mystic force version of the sentai.

And this is the reason why I was pissed when only the Red Ranger showed up in the final battle in Megaforce

Power Rangers had the courage to do what LuPat did not: have the Red Ranger police officer step down from his status in order to be in a place that he felt he belonged and would have the most positive impact

Also new gen shows were that have more then the 5 main and the 3 or 4 surppot rangers deal with that many rangers in such bad ways but with shows from old gen like dino charge all the rangers fit in well and created a good story that balanced and used all the rangers to make it fit in and not clutted

Honestly, in ANY proper reality, Sky would've been chosen as the Red Ranger. His superior experience, respect for the role, and general professionalism made him the most natural choice--as opposed to Jack's untrained, rule-breaking, out-of-the-box, diamond-in-the-rough persona. We all know that Jack only got the role so that the screenwriters could milk the (admittedly great) tension between him and Sky and play out the common trope of elevating the most uncommon or unexpected individual to leadership to build drama.
