In this video, we decode the art of identifying the right stocks and the ideal entry or exit points in the stock market based on support and resistance levels. Better known as the breakout strategy or the breakdown technique, I shall take you through practical examples and actual datapoints which'll help you learn and retain this trading strategy. A 'breakout' symbolizes strength and a potential buying opportunity that occurs when a stock conquers a resistance level and conversely, a 'breakdown' suggests weakness and can be a signal to sell when a stock slips below a support level. We'll also look at a false breakout as confirming if the breakout or breakdown has happened is essential before making a trade. The knowledge of knowledge of breakouts and breakdowns can definitely elevate your trading prowess and can be an effective tool in even an investor's belt

Hello Shankar, thank you for explanation. There are daily weekly monthly and yearly charts and breakout and resistance and support levels keep changing with timeframe we selected for. For a short term investors like me who keep stocks for few weeks to month and book profits. What's the better approach to choose timeframe ?

As far as I am concerned, for sure Shankar's videos are not just any other videos, these are bi-weekly important training videos for me which I can't afford to miss. I do take lots of notes while watching the video, so a roughly 20 minute session almost takes 40 - 45 minutes for me as I would be frequently doing pause-resume-pause.... I will share my notes with screenshots after making them some what better as I was never good in maintaining my class notes :) Thanks and wishing you continue doing good work and excel.

Question: why don’t you and team spend sometime and do a research on : 1. Gann Time and Price Cycles 2. Hurst Time Cycles 3. Elliott and Neo Wave strategies Multiple videos on these topics would help many traders / investors including yourself and saves thousands if not millions as people out there in the market charging significant amount of money for those topics albeit no real evidence that these strategies are holly grail. I’m sure it would give you a different perspective of technical analysis for your amazing curious mind and to your ever support team resulting a massive help to many viewers of your channel!! Longer is better esp. for investors, so look at 4-5 years. Traders would prefer smaller periods of a few months (1-2 months)

SUMMARY: How this is useful for Long term Investors: 1.) Track Support(At this point the price increases) and Resistance(At this point the price cannot increase) levels for the fundamentally strong stocks 2.) Breakout : Price will increase, Breakdown : Price will do down. Track Fake Breakout and Fake Breakdown and wait for the price to close and then make decisions accordingly 3.) Take 1 weeks resistance levels for analysis. Do correct me if I am wrong here.

Mixing technical analysis with fundamental is a dangerous cocktail which many have tried & their results are average to below average at best. Breakouts etc. analysis is very very deep data analytics driven depending on length, tests, triggers, & many more - there's survivorship bias. I would say that this video was totally out of sync with other content. Nothing more, nothing less. I am a subscriber & would continue to look forward for more fundamental sort of analysis.

If we analyze the last 5 years' data of breakout I doubt - we will be right not more than 50 % of the time. It is a kind of retrospective analysis.

Hi. If you've analysed the 5 year data or have come across some literature that show that the success ratio is less than 50% .. can you please share? I'm curious to know the results.
