When to Use a Focused and Clear Essential Oil Diffuser Blend

This video is an Aromatherapy recipe for an essential oil diffuser blend to help you feel mentally focused and clear.
I use this Focused and Clear Diffuser Blend a lot when I’m working. I have a diffuser in my office, and it helps me concentrate and feel productive.
I have a little 5 ml glass bottle with an orifice reducer in the cap. When I’m finished making my blend, I’ll tighten the cap and the orifice reducer will snap right into place. It’s very convenient!
I’m only going to use 50 drops of essential oil for this diffuser blend recipe, so it’s not going to fill the bottle up all the way. (A 5 ml bottle holds about 125 drops of essential oil.) I just wanted to be sure you can try the blend and be sure you love it-if you do, you can double the recipe.
This Aromatherapy recipe calls for four essential oils. You can drop them right into the 5 ml bottle:
10 drops Laurel Leaf essential oil (Laurus nobilis) (1:12)
10 drops Rosemary essential oil (Rosmarinus officinalis) (1:51)
20 drops White Spruce essential oil (Picea glauca) (2:36)
10 drops distilled Lime essential oil (Citrus aurantifolia) (3:31)
The essential oil drops sometimes come out fast from the bottles! In the video, the Rosemary came out so fast that I got a few more drops than I intended to! That’s okay-this blend doesn’t have to be precise. It’s not meant to go on skin, and we don’t have to worry about dilution.
At 3:48, you can see the way the orifice reducer snaps into place when I screw the cap onto the bottle. Now we can (hopefully!) get out one drop at a time! And every drop will be a beautiful blend of Laurel Leaf, Rosemary, White Spruce, and Lime to help you feel focused and clear!
If you’ve never diffused essential oils, you can see the process at 4:06. I’ve already added water to my diffuser (not every diffuser needs water, but mine does), and I add 5 drops of my blend. It makes the whole house smell so incredible-open, fresh, and uplifting. I think you’ll love it!

Beautiful blend! Laurel leaf is one of my favourite new oils. Add it to basil, lemon and frankincense for a blend that focuses you get keeps you centered. Reminds me days in my grandad's garden. 🍋🌱🌿

Hi Barbara! Yes, you could use any of your favorite conifer oils i place of White Spruce in the recipe. Black Spruce would be a lovely choice 💜

Hi Aly! You can substitute White Pine with any of your favorite conifer oils in this recipe. Siberian Fir (Abies siberica) or Hemlock (Tsuga canadensis) would be lovely! 💜

Thanks for sharing what sounds like an amazing blend! I am looking everywhere (Rocky Mountain Oils, Aromatics International, Eden's Garden) and no one seems to have White Spruce. Is there another name? Would you share the Latin name? ... maybe I'll have better luck finding it that way.) Thank you so much! I can't wait to try it (probably will try it with another of my conifer oils while waiting to hear back!). By the way to anyone who is reading ... you NEED to sign up for some of Andrea's courses!!! You can use any other conifer oil in place of the White Spruce, AussieWitchCerberus Bindweed.

Can't wait to try this!! I don't have White Fir, but I do have Silver Fir. Is that the same thing or pretty similar? Would that be a good substitute?

You could use your Silver Fir in place of the White Fir in this recipe, fordgtluver! Let me know what you think once you've tried the blend.

That is a hard question, Vitta So, since there are so many to choose from! I would say Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), cedarwood (Juniperius virginiana), lemon (citrus lemone), Roman chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile) and ylang ylang (Cananga odorata var. Genuina) would be a nice group to start with.

Hi Andrea! Is Laurel leaf the same as Bay? I have Bay at home and if I can save purchasing Laurel leaf that would be great.

The only way to know for sure would be to look at the Latin name, Sarah Keates. If your bottle has the Latin name Laurus nobilis then you have the same one I'm using in this recipe.

@@GarimaRastogi78 yes it can and it's wonderful to carry with you and use anytime you need to focus! You can use 10-15 drops of the stock blend in an inhaler.

I had a bad reaction to laurel leaf (topical and way above the 0.5% max. dermal), does this mean I can never use Laurel leaf again? If it does - what can I sub for the laurel?

Thank you so much. I love Cardamom so that's an easy switch for me. Sylla Shepard and Robert Tisserand both confirmed that the % of laurel leaf was most likely the issue. It was an reaction to a Breathe vapor stick that was formulated at doTERRA, laurel leaf was the 2nd ingredient in a whole long list of ingredients. I wish they would take some classes!!

I'm so sorry to hear that Patty Fick. It is never a good experience when our skin reacts to an oil. This is were knowing the suggested dermal maximum comes in handy. You could always try cardamom (Ellettaria cardamomum). Both have a nice spicy aroma.
